This hasn't really happened to any BF game. A lot of people own 2042. It will still get played. 128 player conquest will probably be hard to come by right after 6 releases, but sometime down the road people will rediscover that IMO.

Don't forget also that it's the first one that's crossplay with consoles.

Keep in mind you will need to farm an extra tier for every bonus weekly you miss. Egregious balancing issues, there's plenty of bugs, the servers are trash, and the maps kinda suck.

On the other hand there's tons of options to choose, plenty of unique game modes and enough players doing different stuff that the balancing issues don't ruin the game that much.

It's worth playing with it for a few weeks until 6 comes out.

The Ranger can be spawned fairly easily throughout the match, but more do seem to be using it.

Take aside the terrible state of launch, why does BF2042 still get so much hate? I've done 150 hrs of BF2042 over the past 2 months and had just as much fun as I did in the 20 hrs of BF6 beta. There's nothing wrong with BF2042 anymore. I think people just love to hate for the sake of hating and/or suck at the game so they scream bad rather than accept they just need to git gud.

The only frustrating thing for me has been a couple of the Battle Pass missions and getting killed by the Draugr and Nightbird which are a little too op in the right hands

Think there will be Infantry only mode/servers for Bf6? I used to love vehicles in BF2, especially apache in BF2 Sharqi Penninsula and jets in BF3/4 but I'm not good at vehicles anymore and whenever I try take them out now it takes too many RPG hits and 4 engineers spamming repair doesn't help... My trusted C4 a car/buggy and bail out at the tank still works though xD

Yep 😁 First done and perfected nearly 20 years ago and still works great. Blew up a full IFV in BF6 beta with it last month. The new players didn't even see it coming. That drew a smile because I remember doing the same thing many times on BF2

I lost my mojo in vehicles I'm awful. Used to love jets would dominate with them on BF3 and 4 and was unkillable on Sharqi with apache. Tanks I loved in Karkand but now I can't hit anything in any of them. I think my problem is so many areas for infantry to be on the map which makes it hard for me to pinpoint targets. In tanks my aim is off

Oof, not sure about that. The Infantry aspect for me in Battlefield is still really good. Especially with a squad that plays off each other. But even without it my memory tells me Battlefield is still replicating Cod4 infantry gameplay, at least for me. CS is ok but it's mostly holding angles. Grew tired of lasering people on D2 short with awp or pushing tunnels. CS was fun for a while (think I got 2k hrs out of it)

I'll miss BF2042. I like the specialists, like 128 players, like the maps, love being able to change opticals and barrels via the T drop-down.

My main complaint about 2042 is server lag but that's it. I had worse on BF6. Granted beta. But I had this bug where I'd lose all sound and not be able to aim with a revive bug. It even full crash locked my pc. Though I heard 2042 had a similar issue and it took them ages to fix it. It better not be like that at BF6 launch

They dont expect you to run away it's fun but I wish you could look behind you as you run on PUBG for instance you can hold alt and look around while running forward. Being able to do that I'd outsmart a dozer every time by baiting a weapon draw
