The game just wasnt playable at launch. Persistence error meant you couldn't log in at all and multiple maps (renewal mostly) would stick you in an endless loading loop until you killed the game

They reworked a lot of the maps. They still aren't good but theyre tolerable, they also reworked the bloom (gunplay still feels weird) and did many balance passes to guns

The xp requirement for each point will only increase (to an absurd amount) and the missions are flat rewards so they always give u the points, doesnt matter ur tier. So since weekly reset is each tuesdays u should farm xp first to level up the pass as much as u can then on sunday/monday u start focusing on the weekly missions

support isn't a terrible class for grinding the pass. Remember it's all about XP, reviving lots of people will earn you decent XP. Try to watch where your team is trying to take flags, see if you can get there, run an ammo crate and smoke grenades as falck. smoke the point, that gets you smoke assist xp's when people get kills/revives, shoot the healing gun at people taking damage for additional bits of xp, revive people when they go down, and hopefully also get the flag capture for xp 🙂

weekly missions always give u i think 6(?) points, the final gives u always 10, doesnt matter what tier u are
so since each point increases in xp requirement u obviously have to play more
leaving the missions to the last few days of each week basically guarantees u more levels and saves u some time farming the absurd xp amount u need for later points/tiers

I think the key is consistency and always trying to improve. I've been playing 2042 for 1-2 hours a night since launch. The first year I was just doing the same thing over and over and getting nowhere, then I started grinding the season passes which meant trying lots of different things in the weekly missions, and I realised all the possibilities I was missing. In the last year or two I've been working specifically on vehicle play and infantry movement and I've gotten so much better.

I don't really do big marathon sessions because work/family, but pushing a little bit every day has made a huge difference

only the bonus missions expire at the end of the week. Any others you've unlocked will hang around for the whole of the season, so you should have time to get the trickier ones done 🙂

for 10 caps, I recommend grabbing a pondhawk at the start of a C128 round, immediately fly to the closest flag and cap it, then the next one. You might even be able to get 3 just in the first minute or two by doing that. From there, later in the game you can try capping the enemy's home flags, they're unlikely to be very strongly defended, or try getting into a vehicle with a good/aggressive player and they may well carry you through the rest of the 10.

yep, the transports are pretty tanky especially against Lis rockets. the stealth helicopters and the nightbird die in one hit, the attack helis die in 2 (80 damage per hit).

for ground vehicles you just need to shoot around/above obstacles. Also, when you hold the launcher you will be able to see all nearby damaged vehicles even through walls. It's true that the launcher cannot kill ground armor in one hit but you also get C5 which can be very powerful

I know you can get battle pass points for xp starting at 1 point per 5K xp, and it increases as you play more. Im wondering if how much xp you need for each point is determined by your current battle pass tier or if it's determined by how much xp you've gotten so far. For example, tier 5 requiring 5k xp vs tier 45 requiring 20k xp per point. Or if once you get so many points at 5k xp per point, then it goes up to 6k xp per point (or however much) and so on. If it's based on your current tier then it incentivizes playing a ton at the beginning of the pass, if it's based on total xp then it doesnt matter when in the season you earn the xp

map doesn't really matter, conquest is fine. 10 sounds like a lot but if you go to an enemy flag neutralise and then capture, that counts as 2. So you only need to convert 5 flags during the entire game.

I dunno, since I've come back to 2042 I've been pretty consistent with mid to high KD games.

Weapon choice and attachments are more impactful in 2042 than BF6 beta. Where most attachments on CQB side were to just enhance hip fire.

I think the map design of bf2042 makes the whole adapting build a bit neccesary. Most routes are open, leading to CQB areas. Meaning if you gimp 1 for the other you're not going to have a good time if your OBJ minded.

You're also not gonna be hot swapping an entire build, takes too much time.

People who say Battlefield has always been open maps are wrong. I'm one of the older players and I started out with BF1942, and there were plenty of close-in infantry maps like Stalingrad, Berlin, Monte Cassino, Monte Santa Croce... Tons of them. The devs just stopped making them as time went on, and none of these great infantry maps from that time were remade. We get El Alamein of all maps?? The biggest open map of nothing but sand dunes? They actually spawn infantry in the middle of the airfield and make them run 200 meters to the nearset cover. So don't think "Open maps are just what Battlefield is", because that's a meme. Check out this site for some of the best old school maps...

no it's because you need to finish them otherwise you probably wont be able to finish the pass in proper time unless you play 24/7 for 40 days
