The minimum requirements for 2042 are a lie from what was seen in prior gameplay and AMD Radeon Metrics Overlay monitoring. Even on 64 players, maps will go above 4GB of VRAM usage, and prefer to use 6-7.5GB of it.

Checking the Processes tab in Task Manager, my CPU never spiked to 100% utilization. Closest was 91% once.

I'll have to test this a little later, but it could be due to having my tablet plugged in.

if this is specifically the Corsair strafe RGB model, then it supports up to a polling rate of 8kHZ, which is way too high for this game relative to it's CPU utilisation, turn it down to 1kHZ if that's the case and your stuttering should go away

the 5900x is a split CCD processor, so once you exceed 16 threads in a single process it will call the second CCD which will introduce stuttering

what you can do is isolate the game to only thread 0 through to 15 to remove cross traversal of CCDs, but it's only really a stop gap solution

Potentially, but try it and see if it does anything.

Also, make sure that your keyboard, unless it genuinely is a USB 3.0 keyboard, is in a USB 2.0 port if you have them. If the mouse is not a weak link, it can be a weak link in terms of USB bandwidth sharing and system latency issues.
(Or my board situation is too weird, whichever.)

One thing I could say is for the devs to STOP listening the streamers with 300 hours of game play dictate the state of battlefield 2042. Go to the leaderboards where people are invested in the game for advice. To do that though would require human interaction.

You just pick your fav weapon and YOLO forward...

But Conquest will suffer without some limitations and open distractions for alleged classes, and 2 men self sufficient squads. Thats my worry.

I like to think of 2042 as "BC2 but everything is horribly wrong."

For a setting that is supposed to be subtly depressing, it is one of the more inoffensive titles in handling given this. Seldom if ever does it lean into its own themes at all.

None of the characters ever get dialogue lines where they are truly appalled, upset, enraged, or pressurizing stress and not actually collected outside of general yelling.

That was written off as a driver issue due to release notes in more recent versions acknowledging artifacts and stutters. Rolling back to 25.2.x was the touted fix until AMD releases something new. Otherwise, your mileage will vary and be on you.

Oh, what, EA Javelin? That is just the new version of the existing proprietary EA Anticheat. The history went from Easy Anti-Cheat, to EA Anticheat, to EA Javelin Anticheat.

Other thoughts include:

1. Install VP9, HEVC, and AV1 codecs from the Microsoft Store.
2. Create an Online Threat Prevention exception in antivirusfor Program Files/EA/AC/EAAntiCheat.GameService.exe.
3. Secure Boot had better be on now.

Also, at this time, I have now seemed to confirm that EA Anticheat will definitely be stalled out by, conflict with, and ultimately eventually flag and ban anyone that uses BitDefender, or similar antivirus suites with Active Online Threat Prevention capability—e.g. blocking suspicious page connections as soon as they launch or load—For Service Disruption.

The only way to mitigate this is by explicitly creating an Exception for Program Files/EA/AC/EAAnticheat.GameService.exe in the antivirus software. Creating that exception alone is not enough, however; one must explicitly set the exception to be toggled On for Online Threat Prevention for it to work. It must not be the basic exception for Antivirus scanning alone.

Only then will EA Anticheat seem to stop hanging on launch, potentially contributing to the infinite startup bug.
