WW2 setting is different cause to MUCH lower firerate, MUCH lower accuracy, MUCH lower full-auto weapons, and btw any explosion hole may be a cover

2042 made 40% weapons with laser accuracy and tried to ballance TTK using bullet drop and damage on distance. So snipers own anything (one gameplay - strafe left-right, ping issue, damage drop is small, headshot feature plays for sniper), SMG own anything (ping issue + removed weapon spread), autorifles try to understand why midrange is useless... and maps without covers finished the job.

ah forget map edges that draw exactly to prevent map edge covers and playing 64 people on locations that expect maximum of 32, so player speed set is increased to unbelievable values, stamina is not present, supression fire is removed - and we see only ping/lucky fight and game goes like "me killed you, after 2 sec - i revenged you, ahaha"

its damn chaos, only thing to feel battlefield there is prone (w/bipod) somewhere, but the snipers fix the issue. so game becomes "run-die-run-die" gameplay... like alt-tab game for office

I suspect that the Silvanus Slasher skin set is able to corrupt the rendering and shader pipeline and induce crashes on certain machines.

Currently unavailable to isolate it further, but will report back when a clear reason for the crash is found. DXGI Shader enumerations could be incorrect relative to shader type, or something else is at work.

Graphic drivers can sometimes go bonkers in a way that only affect a single game, single game engine or even single gamemode. It's fixed by using DDU to clean things up. The whole "only x game is affected so it must be x games fault" is not always the case.

now this is typically driver related from my research into it yesterday

but i did the necessary steps

now im not the smartest person in the world so i just assumed that everything is fine on my side, i still assume that based on everything i have done so far and the amount of people cross-referencing the same issue that I am having so i put it down to 2042 having an issue

In my case, 2042 mode was affected, but somehow, a Solo Conquest match as Irish on the Breakaway map worked, but another Solo Conquest match on Haven as Casper with the Silvanus Slasher skin equipped did not work.

As previously stated, alongside fixing the known driver issue, I will do background testing later to isolate it to either certain maps, or certain skins trying to render.

Besides that, completing the intended draft post for the EA Forums about the failure to start up the game bug—Which @vocal tusk (Whoops, wrong recalled user) may have been here previously advising to do whenever I last posted about that—is in the works.

2042 is crashing while loading multiplayer. Its happening to a few on my fr list also. Also no rendering , kicked from games , settings changes not persistent , mic issues , freezing PC and black screen of death needing a hard restart. I cant find any help from EA online. In my case, driver settings include also turning Surface Format Optimization off. With it on, the AMD driver will try to forcibly convert FP16 shaders (R16G16B16A16F) into R11G11B10 ones. Not as much information in them, but easier to process.

It is enabled by default in AMD driver settings, unless the user turns it off under Global Graphics settings.

I do not know if turning it on and retesting will lead to anything. In the interest of not having the driver influence results in later game testing, I will leave it Off.

The tooltip for it does not say it only affects DX9, unlike other settings there which do state it.
