Best guns: ac9, m5 (with subsonic rounds), ac42 (learn to hyperburst, takes muscle memory), vcar, 880, deagle, ak24, ACR, LCMG, PKP (with standard rounds only, don't use the high power), g428, and svk
all the other weapons have their place where they perform very well, but the above list will serve you well in most scenarios.

Extended mags aren't always the most optimal though, and having choice is what facilities different builds.
And eventually everyone unlocks the magazines for their weapons, it's not some difficult grind to achieve so everyone who does run max capacity on a particular gun will get it quickly and be on an even playing field.

Not every weapon needs an extended mag, destroys all the balance. Weapons with naturally high capacities becomes useless as can be seen in nuCoD. Number of people who uses a weapon like Bizon/PP in BO6 is like 10.

It is but gunsmithing makes it even more useless because every other SMG can have 50 round mags. So you won't even use PP in BO6 if you want something with high mag size.

Hardcore definitely tends to attract the lower echelon of BF players so probably. AI are labeled and either miss every shot point blank or dome you with a GVT through ten bushes from 80m
