One unspoken aspect of BF1 or BFV was the extremely good reloads, not every weapon had a conventional modern design so reloads were reflecting that, like Nagant revolver or Krag Jorgensen. You can't have many unique reloads like that in a game with modern setting since everything has an either AR15 or a bullpup design.

DF's movement is so floaty, gunplay is also worse due to slow ADS but laserbeam weapons, your bullets also comes from your head so it's a headglitch fest. Not even talking about hero abilities, insanely overpowered and much more of a hero shooter than 2042 ever was. People overrate DF because it's free and it's working right off the box unlike 2042. But it's far worse than 2042 if you are comparing them. CTE was also one of the best parts of BF4, if CTE didn't existed it would be 2013 version of 2042 lmao.

• huron vs littlebird / kamikaze helicopter vs flying satan. Suggestion for HURON - railgun vs tanks. Then stealth would be useful, unable to aim rockets and it fires from safe place until somebody break the frontline. That may be TV Rocket long range support helicopter, instead it is self-killing machine
• ebaa vs any aircraft / air unit dies, ebaa repaired in next 10 seconds (without leaving the car)
• jet rotation only with speed increase (nope when decrease) / it means no dogfight, just flying circles, unable to aim helicopters, unable to rotate when collision eminent
• keyboard stupidity: "keep helicopter (pitch 0, roll 0) litterally means keep and nothing more, it continue to move even if you hold the key" - theres no button to prevent impulse to hold the point
• tank FP camera shoots at 100 meters, tank 3P shoots 500, and theres no key "calculate distance" like sniper "hold breath"
• AT has laser gun (railgun actually) and it shoots aircraft..... whattttt? is it AT or additional EBAA ? Its too weak vs tanks, but super effective vs air units
• armored car has 10 sec full protection ability with gun that can destroy the tank 1v1 in 2 spreads
• smgs can shoot without aim down sights without the recoil
• sniper rifles can kill with one shoot, other weapons seems never, so recon gameplay is "lucky test", not different game style. Sniper should fight its own environment, because enemy is always weaker than him
• tanks has 3 types of smoke, 2 from them is useless
• free look has no centered crosshair dot / unable to 3dspot being inside cabview
• no free look while in 3rd person cam, backward cam only
• wired rockets with huron pilot instead of gunner, while you aiming, helicopter slowly flies forward and will be destroyed, also wired rockets is controlled by helicopter forward/nose, freelook (actually - pilot helmet) do not participate in that

The older battlefields were a great mix of arcade with slight sim aspects. Battlefield 3 and bad company felt very real. Slower moving speed, bullet drop, full destruction.

I re tried it again after giving it a fair chance. I'm a die hard battlefield fan. It's just too cod like. The graphics and vehicles are great, destruction is less than old games. hey! I have bf2042 and im having some fun here and there, and i also own bf1 which i don't have installed since 2023. I liked the atmosphere but not the gun play and i couldn't see enemies consistently.. Now i see BFV costs 1.99 for a few days more. Is it worth it? Is it "easier" from bf1/bf2042? Does it have more players than bf1 ?

The older battlefields I felt I could move around more, use strategy, run flanking missions on snipers. Everyone moved slower and bullets had less damage at distance. Including bullet drop that took skill for snipers
