Shortened/extended both have fixed fire rates regardless of ammo type, using close quarters with shortened(57 rpm) is worse than using close quarters with factory(70 rpm) Also opposite issue in high power, high power factory has 36 rpm while high power extended has 40 rpm with even higher bullet velocity

AK24 has SFAR damage model with 20 meters less range between each BTK ranges, SFAR's 4 BTK is from 0-29 while AK's is from 0-9(ST) for HP it's even worse(0-50 for SFAR, 0-20 for AK) Only benefit of AK24 over SFAR is slightly better reload times and a little bit higher bullet velocity, but might as well use AK5C honestly for that too

So the build i like best for 2 recent vehicles is the main cannon/afptds, repair systems/active protection depending on if solo or with a repair engineer, upgraded armor, and the autoloader. If running the glass cannon/increased explosive perk, switching the afptds to either of the missile options was most effective as a tank buster. Overall they're fun and I like the versatility

when you kill an enemy, they will drop a little ammo pouch on the ground, if you run over that you get half a magazines worth of ammo resupplied to you.. so on LMGs where you have 100-200 round belts you get 50-100 rounds resupplied back

each ammo pool is different, LMGs its either 1 mag loaded and 1 in reserve, or 1 loaded- 2 in reserve (something to that effect)

For aesthetics, guns feel more powerful which makes the gunplay more realistic and fun for people like me, and as far as balancing goes I think removing visual recoil just dumbs down game design to the point we’re at now with 2042 and modern CoD where all guns are lasers with no depth

Hurts map design because now only SMGs, ARs and snipers are effective which pushes out literally most other weapon categories and so you get cross mapped constantly, and then makes people complacent with even more dumbed down balancing decisions later on

I find it ironic that people criticize BF1 gunplay for visual recoil then praise V which has entirely random recoil in the first place which is arguably worst by a long shot

Casual FPS imitate realism all of the time. They don’t go all the way with it playing like a milsim of course but low ttk, dynamic reloads, visual recoil, etc are all pretty common

BF4 had the same issue of cross map shots so idk, I like bf4 but removing visual recoil is not an objectively good thing in my opinion

Like I can live without it in a game but I like it for a lot of reasons
