They're constantly on for me (series X) yet I have no issues at all and my game plays quite well, or as well as is to be expected.

Those icons are really grinding my gears though and I can't figure out how to remove/disable them..

Every other game runs absolutely fine as as expected. Hell, almost every game of BF runs smoothly too. Just the icons are always visible.

I have the performance bar active across the top, that always remains in the white, though occasionally the SFT (absolutely no idea what that is!) will go yellow briefly.

the SFT means server frame time, I hazard that you are seeing this on a 128 player server of some kind which if so is normal as the game will infrequently have server side problems on playlists with this high a player count, on pc they can be disabled some of them, I'm not sure about consoles specifically but if so you'll find under settings

that is your first option, alternatively if you want them to disappear fully you'll need to drop down to 64 player playlists

Having only just started playing BF2042 finding the right games are a tad complicated. I want to play normal rush for example.... Chuff knows how. The only option I see is Rush XL.

yeah ok so that would explain it, playlists with massive player count especially rush XL frequently experience server side issues such as lag and rubber banding, these are not issues with your connection, but keep them enabled as they will tell you underlying problems if things become weird

128 players was one of the biggest mistakes with this game which caused that situation, it's not particularly fixable

the playlists rotate, right now what they are doing is rush (128), this will change eventually to the normal rush 64 player mode, you can alternatively search for portal servers which are using rush 64, but it's not guaranteed you'll find one that is active

The movement feels awkward and unresponsive, so does the gunplay with snipers specially it feels like there's a weird trigger delay in the time the mouse is clicked and when the gun actually goes off, mouse input still feels... off? its hard to put it in words but its very inconsistent, sometimes its not enough, others it's too much, the maps still feel like they lack cover and traversal is rough, vehicles are still rather dominant over infantry.

And then the TTK, idk what it is with slower ttk games but at times it feels like there's a disconnection between the TTD and TTK, you kill slower but die faster, in MW3 i also have this issue, in that game its 100% the poor servers and mediocre at best hitreg + lag compensation combo, you'll die in ~150-200 ms but the game will tell you you died in 6 shots to a 800 rpm smg, in 2042 its just inconsistent overall, sometimes you can tank bullets like they're nothing, other times its 2 shots from the same gun and you go down.

To me personally though? more so that nothing really feels right in this game, there's always this "that was better in this game", or "this feels weird", its a combination of multiple small inconsistencies that make the game feel too random at times, like things happen for no reason at all.

is it my machine? is it the game? i don't know ( or care anymore), ive moved on from this game and will patiently wait for the next one hoping its better, i wanted to check in after ~9 months but it's just not it for me.

that or my taste in games is objectively bad idk, my most played game in the last 2 years was mwII and that one is pretty polarizing too.

Breakthrough or RushXL any 64vs64 mode if your CPU and internet can handle it. If not regular Breakthrough is pretty quick if you know how to work the map.

In portal you could make some serious AI lobbies. I had a 1v16 lobby with all AI. They were all cranked up to the max they could go on movement and aim. Good practice before hitting lobbies. But the AI in lobbies is awful. Even advanced solo isn't challenging.

I had the same issue. I had to update my geforce now app to the new navida app. After that is started recommending to optimize playing BF2042 at 1366x768 in the graphics settings. But I still optimize it at 1080p low. I also had to turn off DSR. Not sure if it'll help but that's what fixed my stuttering.

To each their own I suppose. Low budget setups with a 4 core cpu and a 4g gpu. Like laptops and low tier desktops, It's kinda helpful. Mid tier rigs and up really don't need help from AMD or Navida graphic optimization. They could pump out 1080p 60-90 fps medium/high depending on the rig.
I think the majority hates how CPU demanding BF2042 is.

-smgs in general work ok. But often I am confronted with above 25m targets while flanking.. so the range from 25 to 100m should be covered.

• while flanking I often had the chance to get rid of several enemy squads at the same time. Higher magazine capacity was very handy for this.
  My "tested" guns for this liadout right now:
• ac42: solid but I can't handle it in cqc. Skill issue ofc, but not suitable for me
• g428: very handy, yet the 2 to 3 shot distance is at a very often fought range in my opinion... And that's a problem.
  Lcmg: quite useful mostly because of 100 rounds or the 200 round cqc mag.
  Yet very "slowish" .. and this counts not only for the reload speed 😞
  Avencys: was nice. Yet same trouble like with lcmg. Or am I mistaken?
  DFR strife: Very handy and got some assault rifle vibes with smaller mags.

Yes, subsonic is pretty much useless. Its the same damage as standard issue, but doesn't come with the same ammo count. All you gain is no damage heads up on the player you shoot, but the value of that is FAR less (IMO) versus 15 more bullets in a mag. (Players in this game have zero awareness to the incoming damage direction from guns)

Its really nice tho. they did a fgood job at implementing the features you'd need for wrking feedback forums

the tags system is particularly useful. We use forums for both suggestionsfeedback and another for bugs.

Its great to be able to make custom tags for users to apply to those topics

Like for example, if we were to have similar forums here, you could have separate tags for vehicles, weapons, gadgets, bugs and so on...and applying those tages to a topic makes it really easy for viewing members to filter those topics

Instead of a wall of noise, as it tends to be unfiltered haha.

We specifically state on our server that untagged topics will be ignored. so our players now know to apply appropriate tags (If they actually want to see something changed/fixed)

Understand what each specialist can and can't do.

Explosives, projectiles and rockets do more or less damage depending on where you hit vehicles. (hitting the rear of a tank does most damage, hitting the cockpit of a heli does the most, etc)

2 C5 on the rear of vehicles will kill them. (every vehicle except the brawler)

The brawler vehicle takes less damage from mines and C5.

Placed C5 despawns when you die and respawn, but placed mines do not.

Weapons perform dramatically different when you unlock their attachments, magazines and barrels.

The easiest way to unlock weapon attachments is to play Solo and Coop mode against AI. Breakthrough Redacted in this mode is best, as its entirely CQC and infantry only.

You can do the same for Vehicle attachments. For many vehicles, I find Breakthrough on Renewal great for unlocking

BONUS: Boris is a useless engineer, play Lis or Crawford instead 😜

They should do it, yes. but since NOT reviving team mates only results in a lower score, with no other penalty (There are obvious penalties, like losing a game due to ticket loss)...players will often choose not to do it

There is no friendly in HZ. You can technically try to be friendly and dual squad extraction is possible. But due to lacking communication tools, this never happens.

the drive will survive but it's functionally a brick essentially, given this a game storage drive I hazard you've put it through some grunt over the years, if it's not appearing whatsoever then it's more or less a tell tale sign

yours is 200tb, it's a quite old drive so it's not too surprising, but that's exceptionally small

run diskpart via cmd and see if it appears there, if it still doesn't assume it's dead for all intensive purposes
