something to note is how often players look for muzzle flashes and bullet tracers. subsonics get rid of both.

Basically squads need a leader to ping what objective to attack or defend. If squad lead doesn't ping an objective when someone else in the squad pings an objective, they get kicked from squad lead.

if you become squad lead, make sure to keep an objective marked for the xp bonus when you capture it or defend successfully

but a lot of the time, I get people who get hit once, then they IMMEDIATELY scatter so fast that the TTK isn't fast enough to get them on the 2nd or 3rd shot, unless they're completely stupid

I get better luck within 30m where people have less time to react to the travel distance it takes for the round to reach them

You kind of have to push the boundaries of what you’d find normal to see what works

Conquest usually isn't enough action for me to keep my attention (ironically I'm ok with walking for 10 mins in Squad before taking an instant bullet to the chest)

On a mechanical level - move. Dont ever stand still if possible. There is a negligible penalty for moving unlike squad, so use that to your advantage. If you get hit and don’t know if you can flick to them in time, sprint parallel to them and to the closest piece of cover. Too many times do I see people just crouch walking around, use that speed to your advantage and take space quicker instead

Squad’s much more defensive, especially post ico, asking for squads to set up security, use fire and move strategies and attack with supportive supression. You don’t really need that here, supression does nothing, and using utility and movement with careful consideration for angle exposure and enemy density is enough to clear a space out solo

Yes that's how I died a lot lol. My instincts tell me to go prone and take cover while taking a bit too long to see wtf happened. I get that luxury in Squad, not so much in 2042. Also I don't squad lead there. I just am a medic and rev people lol

Ah I see, squad leading teaches you a fair things that can carry over nicely to battlefield - most notably reading the map to understand enemy density, possible flank points and the overall map pacing. But regular infantry gameplay does also teach you some useful things

Going from squad to this would definitely be a bit of a shock to the system given its relative pacing, but just try to ingrain that process of moving and finding cover enough to be natural and you’ll be able to retaliate easily

One slight benefit to squad is that the people playing often have a slight bit of local awareness due to voice comms and the game’s design, battlefield… not so much. Most players just shoot guns and don’t really pay much attention to anything so you’ll often be making plays solo. Best thing you can do is try to drop ammo and health for them, but when you find a good player and tag team with them it’s like you’ve made a new best friend

You do get bombs eventually, just later on and it’s a bit of a grind. Only took me 2 days in air superiority. It’s a real bummer of a bug though

I just do vs bots for ez kills lol but with the jet its kinda hard to kill anything with the jets I feel like their only really used for Dog fighting and vehicle destruction although having guns capable of killing ground soldiers.

Tbf 2042 doesn’t promote solo play for bots. They kinda left it as an option in case you don’t have friends.

I play on the PC and until a while ago there was a black screen but it was when the game ended and that black screen was unbearable because it forced you to close the game and open it again and only some time later EA managed to apparently fix it and after that They fixed it, as far as I remember, there were no more problems
