yes, depends on the mode, yes, there is no power or gear normalization...all gear is the same for all players

you have rush or team deathmatch as a smaller scale mode if you want that kind of thing, most modes are 32v32 players, two teams
progression does exist, getting kills with weapons unlocks attachments for said weapon, and getting kills with weapons can also unlock other weapons
you also get unlocks in forms of gadgets as you level up and/or complete the battle pass
gear is the same for everyone, but someone with a fully decked out gun will probably perform better than someone that just got it without any attachments

but again, no pay to win or anything, you can do one bot match and get all weapon attachments in like 20 minutes if you really wanted to rush them since AI kills contribute as well

PBX is imo the best smg in the game, the M5A3 is one of the most versatile assault rifles in the game

Battlefield V is still my personal favorite but is sadly ridden with cheaters

That being said, the game has been supported for about 3 years now, which is about average if not above average for a bf title

Facts!!! Anticheats are worthless these days. MF could go years before making a slip up. And they usually tell on themselves. Like a screenshot of the score board but then forgetting to turn off the wallhacks or something. And people pretend only 1% cheat. That's because only 1% gets caught. And no community cares, BF, COD, Halo, Apex. Unless someone is flying a tank across the map in a lobby. It's almost the only way that is enough evidence to not be considered a hackusation.
Honestly I just assume it's 50/50 these days. Pros, casuals, trash players.

ReWASD allows you to play games with Gyro-Aiming or just controller even if they don't have native support for it.
for example CS, Valorant or even BF
but unfortunately there are always people who abuse stuff
so a lot of people abused it by doing the opposite and map MnK -> Controller to get aim assist and created "no recoil scripts" etc.

I tried playing it again and jesus christ how did i manage to work with that game, the UI is horrid and the menu navigation is atrocious, helldivers spoiled me on good controls and well done UI

IMO, no. If I down someone, they shouldn't be able to crawl to cover to be revived. Crawl makes sense in a mode like hazard zone, where it's single eliminations. But when you can just respawn after death, it makes little sense. I don't even like downed state pinging, I'd remove that totally.

Conquest is an open map domination type mode where controlling majority of the flags is vital to draining enemy tickets.

Breakthrough is an attack/defend mode where attackers need to control the sectors objectives at the same time, while the defenders try to kill them all off to drain their tickets.
