It's so fucking weird to think that Battlefield 2042. The game that had no campaign, that immediately cut support for hazard zone and focused entirely on multiplayer has just cut support completely. The game has an OKAY-ISH amount of content, but it's crazy how the game that put all focus on multiplayer didn't even come anywhere close to any other battlefield in terms of multiplayer content ... and all those games had extremely expensive campaigns on the side to play.

You dont seem to understand how anti-cheat works.

There will always be cheats...anti-cheat devs find those cheats...the anti-cheat is trained to detect them...then after a period of detection, any players detected as using them will be banned in large waves (For example every month, 2 months)

A new cheat was released at the start of S7...so thats likely what athe majority of players are foolishly using. Once the anti-cheat is able to detect it (Likely already is able to do so)...those users will be collected...and banned as explained above

Its not a case of "Does DICE not see them, are they stupid?"

If you insta ban on cheat detection...all this does is allow cheat makers to move faster and release new cheats that wont be detected. Cheat makers will always make cheats, and faster than any game can adjust to them. this is why ban waves are a thing.

The mechanics are what I find make it dull, movement is a big thing for me, and bf1’s general infantry gameplay was just kind of dumb fun without too much in the way of depth

Like, it’s fun if I want the spectacle and atmosphere, but I’d feel more engaged playing v or 2042

Well bf1 just has running and walking, sliding is useless. V had combat rolls, ledge grabs, crouch running. 2042 adds bhops, slide acceleration and ads in the air. Bf1 casualties and simplifies it so much that it just gets samey

I think bf1 made perfect sense it every way, yeah its movement wasnt as crazy as say 2042 but I cant really imagine soldiers in ww1 trying to sprint and slide cancel into cover to insta peak and shoot the enemy

Well it fits in well with the game’s design philosophy. Big on scale, emphasis on atmosphere, but mechanically simple to appeal to the widest audience. Not a bad thing as if that’s what they want to go for, but just for me didn’t hit as hard

Also keep in mind even then BF1 is more 'arcade-style' than most other ww1 games. It's rather simplified to bring in a bigger audence in terms of gameplay overall. And despite the fact you can't just knee slide all over like black ops 3 or titanfall, BF1 is at the very least mechanically stable and cohesive.

I get that allowing more movement options is fun in the "more is better" mentality, but I think they made they right choice for the setting of the game, the way the maps, gameplay was designed ect

The kickstart my heart reveal trailer was proof enough that it was destined to die out quickly. We got no actual gameplay, quick and actiony jumpcuts, and 'superstorm mechanics' that're just ripped out of Just Cause games.

It would get old and gimmicky quickly like the levelution events in BF4 did.

And my prediction is right, outside of a few bleeding diehard fans, no one's really talking about 2042 or playing it. the only reason why people use the 'it has plenty of active servers' argument is because it's fully crossplatform between two console generations and PC.

So when you've people on five different mediums on the same game, of course the numbers would look high and other games by contrast would seem rather, miniscule. I don't say these things to be snarky or rude to the people who like 2042, I just wish it was a better game with an actual campaign.

we were talking about this yesterday, I believe they are apparently going back to traditional classes but I have no problem with the "specialists" as an issue on its own. Its more about making whatever choices the make work in line with everything else

I have no issue with specialists in 2042, my problem with the game is that its just barebones on anything they advertised as new innovative features

Not even that, despite it being a valid issue; it's the whole 'you want the one thing that works, you have to play this character' and then you get more redheads than a Wendy's convention. Instead of just having these abilities be in a 'unviersal gadget' slot like grenades in previous BF games, we just get 'attack of the clones'
