Better connection, if your motherboard WiFi range sucks. Or you’re not running Ethernet. You get abit higher ping than motherboard WiFi. I have a USB WiFi 6E extender. It works wonders. Since I’m not wired and router is is on the edge of my motherboard WiFi range.
I one bar with my motherboard, WiFi extender I have full bars.
The small ping increase is barely noticeable.
If you can’t go wired connection and have low bars with motherboard, I suggest taking that route.

The cost of keeping pc's cutting edge is prohibitive, and you're 100% right on that. Prices on most components have calmed down lately, but GPU prices are the killer thanks to Nvidia being so cut-throat

I think they're walking a fine line atm, as the economy means people aren't spending on luxuries, and if they outprice themselves, then stock sits idle and costs them money (manufacturing/logistics, etc)
