For starters, it’s got a completely different flight model, one that doesn’t match the base jets at all. If they were to port it over and not have it feel like a complete whiplash to those who have only flown base jets, they’d need to rework its physics almost entierly. A task that has proven to take considerable time.

Second is the fact that they don’t want jets to be infantry or ground shredders. Hence why the jets didn’t get rockets from the get go. They were designed to be anti air, then ground ‘assistance’ rather than an all rounder like the bf3/4 days. So they actively chose not to so that the jet could be one of the vehicles with an actual role, not another do it all.

Thirdly, as way said, lots of the portal vehicles and weapons have their own mish mash of bugs. Portal weapons for the longest time had some really irritating delay after reloads for an inexplicable reason, and the portal vehicles often have slight ui bugs, modelling clipping or audio issues.

So yeah, partially it’s down to the work required to get it to fit, and also down to the fact that it contradicts the design philosophy for jets in this title

Well

Without mentioning it, because its currently and has been really stupid right now.

For 2042 Guns: The best options are typically the SFAR, RM68, GEW and if you want a balanced CQC option the AM40.

SFAR and RM68 both hit hard at longer ranges than most ARs. SFAR has the added niche of the underbarrel where the RM68 is naturally silenced.

Though I will say, all of the 2042 ARs are actually quite good. The M5A3 is really versatile. Being a Mid range gun to a nice CQC option with minimal recoil.

AK24 is just solid. Like you CANNOT go wrong with it.

AC42 is a burst rifle, its quite good but burst weapons tend to push people away. Even if it can one burst someone in CQC.

Then you got the VHX which is currently the most dominant AR in the game.

Its going to get nerfed. Again.

But yeah the VHX is literally the most used AR currently. It has something like a 0.5 TTK and has minimal recoil and hits pretty hard at ranges for its RoF.

So if you want to use it before you lose it, I can't blame you.

Because god knows what DICE will do to the VHX once it gets nerfed for a third time.

@frail sparrow Keeping Battlefield 5 as foundation would be pretty great, it is a decent Battlefield game. It does have it's bad sides which could easily been fixed. When it comes to 2042 itself i would be suprised if any of the devs say, we didnt have enough time. The problem lies in the dev team and/or those who lead the project. The game had most if not all of the things i wished to see in the game, but that don't really help much if the game lacks/lacked on so many areas

I mean, who thought it would be a great idea to leave out scoreboard in the first place. Isn't that essential to have in any fps game 🤷

This is a stupid question. But... matching is based on ping right? I know we don't have SBMM, thank the universe. It feels like alot of people are 50-100ms faster than me. I know that's not a huge difference. But I've lost quite a few gun fights where the enemy just walks with 1% health and I swear I'm dropping like 10-15 rounds in them. Even in close combat. But even at 50-70m still 10-15 rounds is alot. Idk. Maybe my eyes are lying to me or the severs just hate me. Lol 😂

server hit registration will nearly always take the priority of someone with a lower ping who shoots first, this is because delay compensation causes issues such as dying behind walls etc with those who "see" receive data first, it's also why WiFi is a severe disadvantage in shooters or non ethernet connections (such as hotspot or satellite) as there is a inherit penalty delay

there isn't ping based matchmaking in the game, though, only to the nearest server, you are geolocked once you enter a game into xyz region unless you join a host in a different region

I find the XCE Bar has the slowest bullet velocity among the sniper rifles.

It hits hard, but that bullet velocity is a disappointment.

DXR is king for longest ranges

SWS is extremely versatile and works well at long range with the right attachments

realistically all of them will work well for the practical long range that you might engage at, like 300m

Cod just feels like less strategy and more angle tactics, I mean it’s pretty much that who can beam the other faster while staying covered fractionally better. But battlefield is mostly played in the long game and there being classes also makes it unique. So yeah if you’re more solo dolo then cod might be better but I find battlefield better because of less control on the match outcome. You can influence it a lot of but it’s not entirely up to one player
