I see. It’s hard to go wrong with most ARs, you could try out some of the portal ARs if you want. The M5A3 might be nice to learn if you want, very versatile weapon with a lot of attachments

M5a3 with short barrel is a good beginner weapon that can carry you till the end. M16 is the same with less fire rate but better ranged capabilities.

I find it easier to focus on one gun at a time, learn what makes it work, and then apply that to the rest of the guns in that class. It tends to help. The default guns are the default for a reason, they tend to be the easiest in that class to learn.
M5A3 is completely solid btw
You can actually kit it out as an SMG with the right attachments too, so you kinda get a 2 for 1
