The solution (for now) could simply be to stop the game using 1core/2 threads

At least of you try this, and it doesnt solve anything. It removes one potential cause

Setting the affinity of the EA app before launching the game seems to also limit game core utilization. Id advise trying to set it to use all cut your last 2 threads, and see how it behaves

Hey guys, newbie here.
I just installed bf42 from game pass, it uses ea app to manage the game.

It won't start, splash screen comes up but that just vanishes.
Running the bf2042.exe as admin won't help, I just noticed that many guides tell me to also run the bf2042_launcher.exe in admin mode.

...I can't find the launcher exe, windows search function also didnt show it.
It's supposed to be in the install directory? Or does the game install it anymore?

Drivers, anticheat and stuff is updated, win 10, pc specs are more than enough to run this game buuut I am lost with this.

2042 pre-6.0 the normal hit indicator looks like the left(ish), with heavy suppressor and subsonic it's the right - basically just got rid of the spike that actually points, but it's still pretty obvious the general direction it's coming from
