I like the G28 in-game, I find it to be perfect for medium-range but lacking somewhat in long-range and definitely in close quarters, but you can push it into those areas in a pinch and a bit of luck.
Although I will admit that my experience with it should not be considered universal, I am sure that it can be configured to suit the long-range role but close quarters would probably be harder to do unless your aim is good.
