There is something intrinsically wrong with flashpoint

I think part of it is the fact that it’s allegedly a close quarters map, but it’s absolutely filled with high ground spots for snipers

The whole thing is basically badly designed buildings, half of which not being objectives, surrounded by hills swarming with enemies of all kinds

Can’t even be effective with a shotgun (or as effective as a shotgun can be in this game) because those fuckers are always peppering you from out of range

Speaking of which, fix the bloody shotguns. The 880 and the Saiga seem to have the same damage while one is automatic

That's seemingly by design. The Irish forcefield generators do loads more to protect camping vehicles than they do for infantry fighting in close quarters. The fact that you can just plop two down behind your vehicle and then avoid virtually all anti-vehicle damage is a joke. The 20mm Flak Cannon on the LATV plus two of these forcefield generators were a joke, in many cases even after the range correction.

Originally, you could reach the Checkpoint on Renewal on the Attacker side from the Defender side on the last two buildings (about 475 meters away) and just wreck everything.

Then it was within a couple hundred meters, everything got wrecked from splash damage. Now it's removed.

But the vehicles getting protection from a clearly infantry-protection oriented device are still an issue. If the vehicles needed that protection, they should be excluded from the forcefield generator protection and just given an armor boost, or just given a forcefield generator unlock you can use to automatically explode all incoming missiles except TOR projectiles.

The irony is that drums aren't that viable. They hit your reserve ammo hard.

I can only think of it being consistently viable on k30 and the saiga.

Technically the SCAR has a drum mag but its capacity is akin to another 40 rounder.

For bf 2042 I blame dice... cause since launch they never really motivated people ptfo and all that.. cause only now, after 2 years, they put squad management.. but like it's too late.. people are not used to think about it, to mark an objective etc etc.. in bf5 people were way more tactical and played more as a team/squad , even randoms... because since the beginning there was squad management and you would get points to call in stuff.. I remember marking an objective in bf5 (playing with randoms) and people would actually follow and the squad was together most of the time.. in bf 2042 that doesnt happen cause since launch the players were not really disciplined to do it..

This recent update has been very aggressive with its squad management. There are moments where I just put out an order for an objective, that order gets fulfilled and less than 2 minutes later I'm being demanded to put another order out by dice.

Like I appreciate the attempt to move into an aggressive squad based play but you don't need to be so aggressive to those that actually have been playing squad based their entire time in battlefield that they get punished

we've heard some vague comments about past characters from the campaigns of 3 and 4 returning in some form from DICE, whether that's 2042 or the next game exactly, who knows, but I highly doubt it's this game
