In LOBL mode it would work pretty much as it does already where the Recoilless M5 would lock onto the target with line-of-sight on the SOFLAM designated location/vehicle/soldier.

In LOAL mode the Recoilless M5 projectile would be able to lock on to the closest designated target within a certain cone in front of the projectile.

This laser designation would not be disrupted by flares or smoke but require the designator to manually track the intended target to hit.

The soflam is in the infrared range of the EM spectrum and it's totally viable that flares would be bright in that part of the spectrum to distract the M5

What's missing is the requirement for the aircraft to get out from behind the flares so they aren't in the cone the missile can see once it clears the flares

it's not a bad idea to advance the projectile mechanics but they'll have to decide whether to go full combat simulator or stay on the arcade side

it opens the door to active/passive radar locking, heat vs IR seeking, multiple types of flares/chaff, radar jamming, knowing which specific aircraft you're trying to lock because some are just plain harder to see

Yeah, the old maps will always be 128players. I've played Reclaim on 128 conquest through portal. It's much better. I don't know why the devs push back on it. It's a much better experience. I still don't understand why they messed up breakthrough. I just have this feeling DICE doesn't wanna do 128players. Ever sense launch they've striped it away to one gamemode.
