Battlefield has been around for over 20 years, and in that time the developers have had many opportunities to get it right and to enhance each successive generation. Why are we still debating the current 2042 and seeing it for its weak development? Game physics, weapons development, map development all have not taken full advantage of past successes. There are literally over 100 maps in the inventory and can be brought forward and used in 2042. Firearms development is another sore spot where it is lacking – ballistic coefficients, weapon performance, kinesthetics are all lacking. I hope there would be an evolution, but it seems we are still stuck in the same revolving mud pit.

One piece of suggestion for developers is that as you spend more time with a particular weapon your physics improve, where your hit box get more accurate - basically mimicking real life where you get "muscle memory" using a specific firearm.

Selecting the right attachments

With a “””modern””” title like 2042 they’d be remiss to not have a ton of attachments

Maybe if we go back to like Cold War or something where attachments were less common we could go back to some kind of system like that…but customization and attachments are I think just a little better

At the same time though, attachments have the problem of being kinda redundant because there’s always gonna be a best selection of attachments for a gun

Why is game balance so fucking complicated ughhhh

Like why can’t there be just an objectively good system?
