yep , never liked the class system mainly because good games with class systems , more usually mmos that do it right allow you to play support or tank or dps in a way that makes you feel powerfull not matter the role battlefields have always sucked at that , if you are support you just feel like a babysitter healing tanks or dropping med packs for the entire fucking game , specialists allowed you to support while still having potential for kills and overall feel a direct impact on the match

acoustic seal what? you pick mackay or falck if you want to shoot infantry and lis/crawford if...

That's so reductive though. Mackay has excellent traversal, but has about the same survivability as anyone else if caught. Same with Sundance. Dozer has a shield that he can use to retreat to cover and push objectives with and has an explosive damage reduction. Zain however is an incredibly powerful infantry combat class. He might not have traversal but makes up for it in possibly the best offensive survivability kit in the game. Falck has survivability, but not an offensive kit, and is just fucked if a vehicle aims in her general direction. Meanwhile, every assault specialist in the game can at least carry C5 to either destroy buildings or blow up unaware vehicles.

The engineer class is kinda meh at the moment. Lis is ok against anything her missile one-shots. But beyond that you aren't really doing jack. Which is fine, it encourages people to play other specialists with access to better rocket launchers, but their gadgets don't do much against vehicles. Boris is kinda ok if you use the turret to spot players from cover and distract them, but not much beyond that. Crawford's minigun is ok. It's not busted but doesn't feel useless.

The support class is in a decent place. Again, Falck has survivability. But that's about it. She does single target healing extremely well but it requires the Falck to be active, which is effectively only during downtime when the player doesn't have any enemies to shoot or is actively ignoring them. Angel's loadout crate is insanely helpful for teamplay for obvious reasons. Irish's walls and APS are practically a necessity for avoiding the spam that is 64 players in a server.

The recon class is also ok. I personally don't like playing Casper because I think sitting on a compute piloting a drone is the most boring thing I could ever do in the game. I primarily use it to eliminate gadgets like Irish APS. Counter the counter if you will. Paik is a great offensive recon with literal wallhacks and a mostly useless passive now that anyone can 3D spot. Rao is an amazing support recon with how many effects hacks do now with it spotting everyone around the player hacked and also literally giving wallhacks to the rest of the player's squad if they get killed while hacked. Plus painting vehicles when they're hacked is the stuff dreams are made of. Blasco is also great for recon since you can easily spot all the equipment on or around an objective for destruction without needing to sit in a drone for the better 5 years of your life.

All in all, there's a wealth of teamwork available to be had in this game with specialist synergies but people are just generally too stupid or narrowminded to recognize it. Also randoms don't communicate anyway.

I don’t think so, only reason it was ever ported to BF4 in Second Assault was because it’s objective/statistical popularity (assuming whatever info dice pulled from to make the decisions for the maps has to do with that)

Ground vehicles not only do not have the maneuverability to counter Lis but they’ve got twice as much to worry about, such as the AT mines (Which DICE made harder to see in a recent patch….), and Sundance/Mackay C5 combo as two examples

Javelin and M5 at least require an actual line of sight and have an easy to see location of origin. Lis being able to pretty much peck at tanks (regardless of what missile distance they give her) behind cover has almost no counterplay and you’re forced to tank snipe because of it
