I can never find a match even at peak with cross play off. It genuinely sucks. I can't even enjoy the game because every match is a absolute sweat fest like it's the ESL finals. Between the spawn camping and the PC players that can all somehow get perfect headshot kills at 200+ meters with iron sights on every weapon it's absolutely unplayable unless you want to just die over and over. I don't give a crap about my KD. But not being able to step two feet outside of deployment before getting cross map full auto'd by a PC player using a smg gets old after a while

I could find some now thanks to BF2042 being on PS Plus and I prefer playing like that now, some PC players pretend we just suck if we want to play with crossplay off while there's clearly a difference between consoles and PC. I hate aim assist. I turn it off no matter what. It doesn't help in fights outside of the weapons effective range. And 99% of my engagements are at 150+ meters against PC players anyway. Makes zero sense. You complain about aim assist which provides little to no benefit yet somehow a PC player can maintain perfect accuracy hundreds of meters away with iron sights just laying on the trigger.

I actually really enjoy 2042. Only thing keeping the game in a bad place for me ATM is the forced PC and console cross play for new gen. It needs to be removed. Cross play with PC is fine for PvE and Co-op styled games. But for PvP games cross play against PC should not be allowed at all.

I have an elite 2. Still. Yeah it helps but in the end it's no match for mouse and key. Unless I see and start shooting them first I'm 100% dead. I can't count how many times I've died instantly walking up a hill. Like the instant a fraction of my head is visible I just drop. I can't shoot back or even engage because the instant I peek or even try to fight back I drop. Most matches end up with me just spamming smoke to get to the objective only to still instantly die the second I get there because some PC player can somehow still get perfect headshots from a fraction of my characters hat being visible.

It's forced. Unless you're on old gen there is not console only cross play. On new gen you are forced to play against PC players. We don't have a choice.

What's even more irritating is that they made it to where old gen and new gen couldn't play together because of PC. They knew console would be at a disadvantage playing PC players yet forced it anyway. So not only can I not play with my friends who don't have a series X yet... I also am forced into a disadvantage. Skill has nothing to do with it. If I hook up a mouse and keyboard via adapter right now and get caught I will be banned for cheating. That alone tells me that devs are well aware that mouse and keyboard is an unfair advantage against those who aren't using it. Which means they know forced cross play against PC players is unfair. The whole play with your friends BS is nothing more than an excuse. Because I can't play with my friends. You wanna know why? Forced PC cross play. Old gen players can't play with new gen because of PC cross play. So not only can I not play with my friends I'm forced into unfair matches. I don't wanna hear the play with friends argument.
