it’s always been quite narrow, the shield is only roughly as wide as you are, only a little bit wider, turning slightly does expose usually your back just a tiny bit for some shots to hit.

When it comes to doubling up weapon benefits, I think it should be as such:
Assault: ARs and Tactical (not sure how to make tactical perks work given that they're so varied. Probably reload speed or something)
Engineer: SMGs and Tactical(??? I don't know, engies and shotguns have always been a vibe. SMGs are there because they need lightweight primaries to balance their heavy gadgets)
Support: LMGs and DMRs (They best help their team at mid range, moving forward and back as necessary, and LMGs have always been their thing)
Recon: Snipers and SMGs (specifically because I think having Recons work at the polar extremes of range would be interesting. Choice between sniper or infiltrator)

Assuming you join at the start of the game; there’s the countdown to the match, all the load in screens, another count down to select your vehicle/spawn, and then another 10-20 seconds of screens and stuff before you play, then EOR is a minimum 30 seconds. All in all that’s 2 minutes of completely idle time with no real benefit. I think it needs a serious look at

mmm a few battlefields ago it changed. at the time the reason was something w/ the engine and getting the transitions to work properly between matches. my guess is there is a server side reason during shutdown, but that's just me guessing.

its partially about letting all the different gaming networks talk to each other long enough to get everyone in the server, partially to let consoles catching up to the PC loading times, and then letting systems render the map for the last bit
