You can have insane texture detail, particle systems and lighting but if you don’t utilise it artistically to create an environment it doesn’t mean anything
Genshin impact has next to no texture detail, it’s shadows are bare bones and everything is cell shaded, yet I think it looks absolutely gorgeous
Bf1 looking better in your eyes is simply a better utilisation of the paints they had at the time to make a better landscape
