Alright sure thing, so conquest is kinda the poster child of the franchise if that’s the correct word. It’s typically categorized by large maps and includes vehicles, you fight for the different sectors on conquest and if your team owns most of them you bleed the enemies points and win the game (there’s a tutorial for them too by the way)

Breakthrough is relatively young, typically breakthrough is both teams concentrating on one or two objectives, where it’s the job of the attackers to take enemies off the objectives and capture them before it moves onto a new ‘sector’ for defenders on the map

That’s the two big modes of BF explained in an okay way

obliteration — two teams fight for a bomb to destroy each other's objectives
