I just see Battlefield's sweet spot as being customizable soldiers: with 8 slots (1 per class per faction), and each soldier can have every little element customized. But each class has a shared design language: Support have a backpack, Engineer have electronics gear, etc. stuff like that

and then EA can charge for various backpacks, helmets, etc.

@tepid agate makes a good point. If enough of the BF community wanted to, they could opt to setup stock Conquest servers in Portal, and use that browser for their matches. It'd effectively be the same as legacy BF titles. The truth is, most players prefer matchmaking for stock experiences despite what people say

Likely won't be able to setup a play session - but a thing to keep in mind is that Battlefield (generally speaking) has always been more or less low individual stakes. ESPECIALLY now that it's 128 players in Conquest.

As much as people may claim otherwise, a match is not lost or won by one player alone anymore. There are just too many variables. Even if you go 0-10, the amount you're "hurting" the team is quite minimal, especially considering that on average, the other team will have a similar scoring player.

Therefore, you don't have to worry about the weight of the world so to speak for your team. Enjoy the experience as is, and when others get butthurt about a video game, just carry on and enjoy the experience!

Spotting is a simple thing anyone can do now when just looking at someone and pressing the spot button. Taking a second to spot before firing (assuming the target is not instantly going to kill you) is a great way to ensure others on the team can see the enemy in the event they sneak away

Well, the basis premise of the Antistasi mod is that you and your group are playing as revolutionaries that oppose the Russian leadership of the island they live in. You basically do insurgent stuff to get better weapons, gear, and generally build up your group by spreading propaganda, taking out government leaders, yoinking russian equipment, stuff like that.

I think it would be a genuinely interesting perspective to have, in an FPS game.
