i installed directx from manual download of webinstaller, i installed vcredist the same way, i verified game files, reinstalled gpu drivers, and at the very beginning of this fresh OS install i couldnt get the game to even start, so what i did and i was suspecting it was something like that, i deleted the entire save foldere (documents\battlefield2042, where the profile and such is) but now there is still the directx error mid game, i will once again fiddle with everything seeing if i can get it to work properly,, but i have done everything the potenlia fix checklist says from the answers hq as they call it and then some, but i suspect there is something in that profile folder that the game struggles with, i dont know what tho, yet...

Just from the top of my head:

• Turn off OneDrive or similar sync of Battlefield 2042 folder in documents
• Try after a proper clean boot https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd
• In case Windows messed up the driver using Windows update do a clean driver install using DDU in safe mode
• Underclock cpu / gpu to rule out instability

im at 30-50% cpu usage, can get some spikes both less and more but its 1 second spikes. so no, not that cpu heavy. if you want a real cpu heavy games try survival games with large bases/cities. stationeers cripples xeon/threadrippers easily
