BF2042 will open, load, I can pick a mode, the map will load.

Then the game will stop working as soon as I enter the game from the map overview (during initial countdown.)

graphiocs driver are up to date.

I read through the "missing features in 2042" list on Reddit again... and one of the points really got to me "General consensus seems to be the audio design is bad, especially compared to both BF3 and BF1.".... Are people playing the same 2042 as I am? With all of the issues surrounding the game, I feel like sound design is the one thing that 2042 does better than literally any other Battlefield game.

Also... "3D soundscape is almost non-exsistent"....

That has been my impression at least. DICE has done directional sound miles better than their competitors since BF1, 2042 is no exception there.

Maybe people don't like they can't pinpoint someone's spot behind a wall or a big rock by audio alone. But it makes perfect sense that sounds would come from "kinda over there" when someone is behind an obstacle. Because physics ya know?

I've mostly seen comparing weapon sounds between mw2 and 2042... some folks are saying the weapons sound better in mw2 while others are saying they're literally just bassier but not actually any better

In MWII (at least the open beta), the 3d sound was really bad from my experience... and I use a pair of headsets that are literally tailored for optimal 3d-sound (Pulse 3D).

Eh, when it comes to weapon sound, it's extremely subjective. I've been told by people that BC2 weapons have better sound than PORTAL BC2 weapons, and the only notable difference between them is that BC2 weapons are a lot louder.
