These drivers are supposed to not conflict with any of your apps, give errors or BSOD. No screen turning black, no random heating issues or FPS issues. Their overall performance is good in everything and not just a specific app or game.
On paper, newest drivers perform better in a certain game or app but they also come with their own downsides(for some people screen gets dimmer, for some they have either bad frametime or unstable FPS or crashes).
This is not a post to make everyone lean towards older drivers, whoever is on newer ones and notice their performance better in the games they play or day to day basis they don't need to downgrade.

For people with problems like laptop not going to sleep when closing lid and instead restarting or giving black screen, it is advisable to use 512.95 as driver(which fixes these issues) instead of any of the above.

However, for whoever decides to downgrade, have this post in mind: #856145913839747123 message - Microsoft started to push Nvidia updates through their Windows updates so you should be aware of it and how to prevent them.
