on the topic of this, my personal idea for the "perfect" system for this game would not be to remove specialists, but build a class-system around them

for example, you pick a class (from the main 4 classes) as the base class for your character, but you then choose a specialist to play within that class, instead of the specialists being their own classes.

So, for example, you choose Support, and you pick Rao, so you can resupply people, or use any support gadget, with whatever support passive, and play as rao for your character.
another example, Medic and Irish, you could choose anyone, but as a medic class, you get the perks of being medic, and you can still choose your favorite specialist

if they add more guns and gadgets they could also add weapon restrictions, im personally not in the hugest favor of that, i would rather just have gadget restrictions.

but this is the ideal system imo that allows for a resurrection of teamplay while still allowing for the 2042 style of gameplay

Weapon restrictions only really work when you have well designed maps and decently close engagements. But I also understand the ones in favour of having no weapon restrictions.

I think this was a bug from a long time ago if i recall correctly.
I could be wrong but I think if you reset your PROFSAVE_profile file then it fixes

try moving the file onto your desktop temporarily and launch the game, and see if it fixes

Me when I clear the shader the game just becomes laggy instead of loosing fps

really good tip then, avoid the all out warfare playlists when playing at late night very early morning and use portals server browser to find a game

might have to sit with a bit higher ping because other places are more alive at those times,

but you can certainly get a 80% full match at all time

so i could play at 20.00 on a satuday, and still get 100-160 ping in my matches
