is it just me, or are medics / supports not really used anymore compared to previous titles? I don't mean the role itself, but rather the revive / heal and ammo resupply type of thing
I remember in BF1 and BF5 there was always Medics and Supports dropping heals and ammo left right and centre

Must be my lobbies then. You get the occasional medics here and there who do actually heal, but it doesn't seem important like it used to be. Same with Support, only thing they're useful for is just stocking up equipment now when it comes to the resupply side

falk is the specialised healer so she can both heal people from a distance thanks to the sirette pistol and heal people to max hp
I've noticed each mag you carry holds a certain amount, like when I ran out of bullets I switched magazine and got 1-2 clips out of it

My main problem with the box is that I don't use the role setups correctly. I don't have a setup for AA, Antitank etc. I just change my equipment manually. The crate is of less use if you have 6 setups all with the same riffle and mines for example π

SFAR was my first T1 weapon. It's great! The anti vehicle nades in the underbarrel adds great versatility.

Is there any point in even using the close combat mag? The extended DMR mag 3 shots at close range and can be used with full auto, while the close combat mag effectively makes it a mediocre SMG.

No. All the dmrs asides from the SVK have a 2.2x multiplier.
You can headshot body shot anyone at a range and frankly that's stupid.
They nerfed that on bf5 on the first or second patch because it was a problem.
Close combat mags are just easier to use at close range.

It's just omnipresent at the moment and it's not fun.

OH YEAH. I've been maining the 6KU for the SCAR and it feels good because they changed a bunch of internal values.
When they buffed weapons to make them not be so outclassed by weapons with x attachment it's made some choices feel decent.
Arcom is fine but the horizontal recoil doesn't feel too much so just stick with standard or 6KU.
6KU doesn't mess with too many benchmarks, Just means you can't kill fresh Irish's but it's otherwise pretty alright.
Since that 28 and 22 damage adds up to 110 at the bullets they kill.
Wrapped is alright on lower damage weapons but 6KU doesn't mess with velocity so yeet.

Like yes, the 30mm is broken. Yes stealth is broken. Yes flares are broken. Yes the bombs hurt. Yes it's easily abusable and takes no skill to farm entire lobbies. But no one even mentions the part where you can be in a stealth heli with 1 hp and tap G and it will repair all the way to full. No other vehicles have a repair system that's even half as strong as that

When I play wildcat I'm usually with a squad and so I've got 2 guys on my other weapons and they mow down infantry so I just focus the enemy vehicles
Also we'll get someone to run soflam so they can jump out and paint air targets and then I can lock on with the AT missiles
but if you're by yourself in the wildcat yeah you probably wanna run 40mm so you can deal with infantry

The flying in 2042 feels so different to bf5 planes and bf4 helicopters
All the model really needs for it to playable is less drift, so a faster time to align your movement to where the crosshair is, and less drag when turning

Yeah itβs sad. Bf1 had some of the best flying Iβve ever played. I loved having the bombers just drop a fat load of bombs on you while youβre trying to cap and objective

I loved the versatility in the weapon options. Whereas bombs in 2042 boil down to βlook in the general direction of enemy and clickβ, bf1 requires you to learn the trajectories and you could use them in creative ways

Heck, you could even bomb the pilot of another plane and make them toxic as hell

The major thing that I personally believe was a major part of the gameβs lack of balance is the idea that they wanted to provide as much player choice as possible

Until I unlocked the soflam I was quite limited in my tools against heli, now that I have it I use it a lot but it still requires others to try to make use of my paint
So then if I mark all enemy vehicles and no one gives a shit, it feels shit for me and also Iβve replaced my own c5 or m5 or AA
I find the liz rocket quite hard to use (havnt had much practise tho) (although there are very apparent hit box issues) and it will still require follow up from team
Also the laggy hit box of pilots in air vehicles makes it hard to shoot them out unless they are quite close
I feel like the rocket is more balanced than i originally believed it would be

i don't bother with AA because it's useless most of the time
i can count on two hands the amount of times i've taken down a helicopter by myself as infantry
either they're stupid and die, or they fly away and repair until i run out of ammo
and funnily enough, most pilots have the 3 brain cells needed to fly away and repair when hit
I do agree with the flare cooldown being a bit too quick, and the duration too long
In 4, the flares only lasted for a couple seconds
But because they moved slower and turned slower, it was harder to get behind cover as quickly
I enjoy AA but yeah I do it with a team we use soflam π¬π¬

Problem is that helis have awful maneuverability in this game. You can't build up speed the way you can in BF4, which is probably why they made the duration so long. You wouldn't be able to get away otherwise.
Which is why relying on lock ons for AA is a dumb decision.
Would much rather lock ons be scrapped for better dumbfire AA.

I think the best overall is the high-power extended mags. But if you're trying to be extra sneaky the subsonic high-power isn't a bad choice either

usually when you get close to that target, some sort of gravity-feel pulls you in. It doesn't perfectly aim for you, but typically helps weight you towards the target: so you catch up a bit easier if tracking behind, but don't as easily overshoot

so if a target is running left to right and you're behind and trying to track left to right
