halo reach can be played before everything else, but do note its gameplay is a tad more advanced (halo 3 era) so it can feel a bit of a stepback when you reach 1 or 2 due lack of powerups etc. lore wise it takes place directly before halo 1 though. i would do halo 3 odst after halo 3. yes, it preludes some events of 3, but its story makes more sense if you place it in context of the events unfolding in 3. it is kinda like watching rogue one before having seen the new hope, youll spoil yourself some key plot points.

Well, it "technically" is not.
An example of many, Fallout 76 unnecessarily made gameplay worse = created problems, like repair kits and small stashes so they could add paid solutions. Those problems don't have to be there.
It is now way better than it used to be but the mentality is still there.

Oh fair enough, I never played FO76, I'm playing the older Fallouts. I'm quite confident they'll nail it this time, ofc I'm keeping realistic expectations but since MS is publishing, just gives me extra confidence that it's essentially a seal of approval and they can't get away with crap like that now.
