@silent bridge For me, while TLOU2 did have very similar gameplay to the first game. It took the system they had an expanded it. Adding more traversal, the ability to prone, craft suppressors, actually having infected and survivors in the same play space (which for some reason wasn’t a thing in the first game), dodging, more melee weapons and guns. It did what a sequel should do. Take and expand what made the first game great. People already loved TLOU1 gameplay. TLOU2 takes that, and cranks it up to 10.
GOT has it’s systems. The combat and story were very much the best parts of the game. Very fun to play, and a very engrossing narrative. But I feel like it could’ve been just as good without the open world. Even though the world is beautiful, it feels like it’s kinda tacked on. Which is understandable from a new IP. I felt that way playing Horizon as well. The worlds feel empty. Like they lack any sort of life. Which is to say, is kinda obvious. It’s not like these first time open world games are gonna compare to RDR2 in terms of life and detail. But when the game feels like it could’ve been the same without the open world, then it kinda makes you wonder why it was that way in the first place. And to me, it’s because they’re popular, and it pads the runtime.

GoT would have benefited from a semi-open world similar to GoW2018. Allows for exploration while also having linear sections.
TLOU2 may have been divisive from a story standpoint. But it at least flipped the script on player expectations and did something very un-safe. Clearly, for some people. It didn’t land. But, for some it did. It takes some guts to do what they did when they could’ve just made another Joel and Ellie adventure.

Sometimes when going for realism, things don’t seem as important or epic.
But the consistent thing is, the whole game feels that way. It’s hardly epic without purpose. (Like the fight on Scar island in Abby day 3) which made total sense.
The whole game is unapologetically brutal, and focused heavily on emotion and morality.

Like once there is movement its fixed camera angles... But once stationary you can change it from that to whatever you want....
Maybe once you move again, your camera stays in the final position( from only the camera moving ) then switch over to the next fixed camera angle of the next area?..

LL is pretty fun and good standalone story. 4 is pretty good, though i feel it's even better if you played the previous 3 so you get all the nods and references to previous games. it's kinda like watching the return of the king before watching fellowship of the ring and two towers. yeah, you can watch it on its own and has its own story arch, but it's moar awesome if you know how the fellowship got to that point and how it is concluded.
