New World is good but it gets stale pretty quick. The quests suck ass, the combat is kind of meh, and unless you are part of the winning faction you won't have nearly as much fun in endgame content. I know they are actively working on fixing or improving this issue but currently it is present.

is there any Halo veterans here? So I played halo infinite today( it's my first time playing a halo game, cuz it's free) and I struggle to find it fun. I mean all I see is 12v12 capture the flag nothing more. The mechanic and gameplay is simple and most of the time it's just jumping and shooting. Assuming you're a battlefield fan, it is far different from battlefield and it's actually closer to call of duty in terms of gameplay so that may be the reason why you're not enjoying it as much.

Sure there are vehicles and stuff but they're rather simplistic and not really the focus of the gameplay, they're only there really to break up the monotony of infantry fights

You can actually do that. When it says connecting to online services, back out and it should give you a connection error with two options. Click go offline, and then you can create a local game with everything unlocked

Probably because it's just MW with a WW2 skin. I'm having a lot of fun but I think it's because I have never experienced MW19, which a lot of people say Vanguard is just a copy of. I can see how longtime players of COD can get tired of it.

Having played MW19, I very much disagree with the notion that Vanguard is a MW19 reskin. People only say that because they share an engine, even though every CoD game before MW19 used the same engine to one-another as well. Vanguard plays completely differently to MW19, which I think is a good thing

MW19's overall game design heavily encourages slow and campy gameplay

Footsteps are obnoxiously loud, the maps have so many hiding places, the minimap doesn't work like it did in older CoD games, all that. It was overall a very slow and frustrating game to play, which I can say is nothing like Vanguard. Vanguard plays more like an actual CoD game, it's just that for whatever reason I'm just finding it boring to play

I am a bit annoyed that the minimap in Vanguard works the same way it did in MW19, but there's at least a perk this time around to negate that

As a first time player of Halo, it's honestly pretty fun. Some guns could use changes (Commando) and the performance as a whole needs to be checked (lagging despite the game not all that looking pretty imho) but otherwise it's a solid game for me. I could see it becoming my main game for a while.

The veteran test a few weeks ago was super fun, I was glad they went back in dev to rework the game. Now my biggest concern is how cosmetics will work since My.Games is now publishing the title. Stuff will be stripped off and sold for money beyond the Closed Beta packs for sure now that it'll be free to play next year.

I don't recall bots in the Veteran phase. But the scale is smaller than let's say 2042 with 128 players so it doesn't bother much to not have bots.

Right! I forgot the player count, it feels enough tbh. It's also much more infantry focused since most vehicles are called-in with points. They are more scarce and valuable.

Likewise, yet I give some leeway if the game loop is fun and MTX are not too abusive. This one (based on playing without microtransactions) is a keeper. Hardcore-ness level is somewhere between BF and Squad.

Yeah! Somewhere close to insurgency. Your loadout has weight, you have various level of armor that blocks range of calibers. But it's not as in-depth as Tarkov.

A big reason why I'm worried about MTX being too intrusive is that the stuff they put in is amazing. Actual camouflage and piece of gear, actual unit patches from various country. My character in the old game version was wearing full Analog Flora kit + Soviet patch. It was amazing.

That would be an acceptable option to me. Kinda like For Honor where you have one uniform currency so you can either grind or buy everything.

Closed Beta goes from tomorrow to something like March 2022 (When Open Beta starts). I don't recall seeing a non-beta release date.

It is yeah. I'm wondering if they made it that long to finish rolling out some content. Their original road map had the plan to include an asian theatre of war. In the Veteran test a few weeks ago, there was cosmetic entries for PLA, JSDF and ROK military gear so I'd assume it's not too far off to release.
(I think I should point out that the Veteran test was public and okay to broadcast on Twitch, just in case people didn't know. No nda on that. 🙂 )

Yeah it might show up at some point, but I'm glad the focus was on the European theatre so far and the Asian one isn't too far off. Perhaps some American maps too along the road?

I'll trust them when I see it. Sometimes, something becomes P2W because of player behavior. It can be cosmetics too like that character skin in Warzone that was near invisible in the dark.

Could it be gear that's currently in development? The game is apparently developed in collaboration with R&D companies and consultants since it takes place a little further in the future. I got no visibility on that specific topic.
