The Ronin Helmets in the game are also bulletproof afaik and you can glitch them with the bulletproof helmets but I'm fairly certain they do not stack effects.

My point is. If there was another game jocking for position, then maybe R* “wouldn’t be able to get away with” what they do. But there isn’t. Even with their “lazy” GTA Online updates, players still play more now than ever. Because there’s a secret sauce R* have that nobody else can replicate. Lots of developers lose touch with their playerbase. (See: the new Saints Row.)
They are focusing on what players want. Overwhelming numbers of players log into GTA Online every year. You give them new updates. If GTA Online wasn’t making so much money, they wouldn’t have kept supporting it. Why kill a game that’s still generating massive amounts of revenue? Cause gamers see it as a cash cow? Meanwhile they continue to play it. Makes no sense.

Tbf, it was a quite casual playthrough and I know it can probably be done much faster by someone who knows more what they're doing. What I dislike the most about the game, is not the microtransaction stimulation, but more the design choices they've made. For example, which other game fails an entire mission because 1 of the 4 players died? In some missions its more understandable than others, but most missions are basically just drive here, pick this up, drive back. It shouldn't matter if someone leaves or dies, at least, it shouldn't end the entire mission. Another example of the terrible design decisions they've made, you can buy every type of ammo in the quick menu thing, but for armor you have to go to a store to pick some up. You could be in a military grade bunker, but have no armor laying anywhere. Only a huge dev company like R* can get away with this, because of their size and recognition.

I agree. Some of that stuff is very frustrating. I think the whole interaction menu has become incredibly bloated, and hard to navigate. But since so many key mechanics revolve around it, more stuff keeps getting added. Without a UI overhaul, there’s no way to circumvent that issue. Which I really don’t see happening until a new GTA

yeah, one small bad design decision has led to a major thing that cannot be reversed until a new title. We'll just have to hope that GTA 6 online will think these things through more thoroughly

I think they will. They’ve undoubtedly learned a lot since the launch of GTA V. We gotta remember, this was not only their first real big online excursion. And I reckon they didn’t have the foresight of it being such a behemoth. Thus, small decisions like the interaction menu causing massive bloating down the line. They have a lot more of an idea on the scope and size this time around.
