BF2042 did a better job
the game should just be cancelled at this point
or re named
Yep.
New world's closed beta is up
Aren't there games similar to Gran Saga?
I mean:
-It has unique playable characters with unique abilities, personalities and voice acting.
-We can customise the unique playable characters'hairs and body skin
-In the MMORPG,we can choose 3 characters in the team
have you managed to play it?
@trim kelp 2 hours left i guess, you can only download atm
ultrakilllikartlu
Most painful game to play?
escape from tarkov
Call of Duty
or any Battle Royale for that matter
heck why not both? Warzone
i enjoyed For Honour, i'm quite good at games that have combo controls

haha lol
This looks like an MMORPG...
it is
New Worlds or whatever it's called?
I need to get a new PC or build one.
So many good games coming out.
I'll definitely check it.
Doesnt require an op PC
Haha, I think my PC has a GPU from like 2013.
Gonna try getting into this game again
One message removed from a suspended account.
I thought it was kinda shit. Its like apex’s arenas but worse
3v3, buy guns/abilities after every round
I did have fun playing that game and riding those three giant elemental creature.
Try valorant maybe.
No, not worth the shady AC
I don't know valorant also shit for me because i am totally ussed to with apex so.
You can go for battlefield maybe.
Not battle royale but fun.
lol mikeraft
Nice
so that's what it would look like if it ran in unreal engine 5 XD
it's a trans detrimental portal into a universe that is beyond are understanding.
Minecraft are u ok?
@proper pebble my sim just got abducted by alians
the mc server is getting reseted
"just" the mc server is down for over 3 weeks

Do you sleep? Lol.
dude, stop, i fear for you
I think goopy has an addiction
goopy go to the doctors man
imagine if those 110 hours had been spent doing bicep curls
the thing with Rust, is that all of your progress is regularly wiped, those hours are essentially wasted
wipe is weekly on most servers
wait, really?
so you play all week just to have to start again
tbh idk
i have like 300 something hours on the game and i cba to play anymore
its just way to repetitive for me, you build a base, farm, kill, raid and then a week later you have to just do it all again
Now it will be pregnant with an alien baby
yep.. weird af
Hahahahaaa
Hilarious
The Sims can be so strange sometimes
You should try the storyline of Strangerville
Really fun
Have you found the secret worlds yet?
ive gone to bed at 3 am for the past 3 nights
rookie numbers
when you cant refund the game so you gotta force yourself to enjoy it

Lol who else has over 1000+ hours spent on a God tier game
whats god tier
are they minecraft and geometry dash
Yes
those are the only games i got over 1k
Artificial "Intelligence"...
artificial incompetence*
Haha, I can't do that anymore. I wish I could.
more like it yea
surprised there was no damage
if you was playing multiplayer you would of got banned for ramming lol
good thing I'm not then
High quality ai
I'm on a whole nother level I got to sleep a day later than you do
i would probably do the same if my PS wasn't in the lounge
have you seen the input lag?
I have played red dead online that way
Tho it was on Xbox
So one can actually play on their phone on the Xbox version
same for PS4
PS Remote Play has some tasty input lag though
poggies

Yes
It's one of the new Auto Shops
I don't exactly understand how an auto-shop costs like 5x the amount of club-houses when club-houses are bigger but whatever
So many updates I have to download now for MSFS, haven't been playing for a minute and didn't realize how much content has dropped.
Ah sounds rather odd
Anything new added in
Three new missions and people can come into your Auto Shop... like it's an auto shop
Players can also get inside and mod their vehicle
Is hunt showdown still worth it?
yeah sounds pretty unfun, I wonder why people play it
Hunt Showdown is great
It used to be fun tbf
I definitely think it is
Sorry . Was talking about the video I posted*. 😅
Hm alright, might try it out
looking for a good game to pass the time
It's seriously good, although almost infuriating at times
it requires patience (in general) and commitment if you want to learn to play it right
also the aesthetic/lore/world it's set in is fantastic
let me know what you think !
(if you want to of course)
and if you need any advice
will do
Wow just opened origin, I don't play it, but the new robot guy looks like general grievous
from apex*
for Apex?
oh yeah
I saw his reveal on Twitter
they have a really cool animation style
Yeah it would be cool if they put that effort towards TF
but whatever makes the money I suppose
let's pray for a Titanfall 3 in the next year or so
and for them to ensure continued playability for the current games*
lol
I never even played TF
I just know its better than apex
automatically
because BR is horrible
try arenas
eh
tbh lately I have really only been playing singleplayer games
BF is the exception because it's a lot more casual
and its one of the rare MP games I enjoy anymore
I lost interest in MP games after the xbox 360 days
in a way, the genre as a whole kinda changed for the worst after that
at least in my opinon
thats a rip
there are far worse / more inappropriate things done on their platform, without scrutiny

she milked a cow in amazons game, so amazon banned her from their streaming platform
she's streaming right now
and it was the game where she was banned, not the stream, apparently a mistake 🙂
its some kind of life simulator
the graphics look nice
Im checking their website but there isn't much info yet
what did you do
advertise your business here
Verdun is on ebic games for free
Guys i touched some grass today
in fact i cut some grass today
just waiting for wipe in 45 minutes
With very careful attention to descriptions in BotW is how you further prove its the Downfall timeline.
Ruto, the Zora Princess in Ocarina of Time is said to have attacked Ganondorf in her memorial in Zora's Domain.
Two things about this: The Hyrule we stand on in BotW is the original land of Hyrule that is in the Child and Downfall timeline. In the Adult timeline, the land of Hyrule is forever swept under a vast ocean and New Hyrule exists on a new continent.
Why the Child timeline does not work in this case for Princess Ruto is that she never attacked Ganondorf in the first place. The attack on Ganondorf and him attacking anything other than Impa and Zelda on horseback never occurred in the first place.
The only time Ruto attacks is when Ganon at the end of Ocarina of Time kills Link.
This is where A Link to the Past up to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link occurs. The Downfall timeline.

And as the developers stated, it doesn't actually take place after all three timelines, they specifically said it takes place at the end of one of the timelines.
Also, the location of the Master Sword says a hell of a lot as well.
Brothers, I finally figured it out after two God damn years
And ironically, Princess Zelda's entire speech to Link in the first memory works in the Downfall timeline. Though people might initially think she brought up Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker.
Twilight, the word itself is heavily used to describe the Dark World.
Seas, the word in its usage, Oracle of Ages and the Link's Awakening.
"Seas of time"
that looks pretty darn good!
the roofing made me go insane
thanks. since i know how the roofing works, that thing takes me around 30min

I just got it and I'm enjoying it a lot
Expect to die. many times.

Destiny has lore?
Most of it is pretty straightforward but there are some really whacky stuff
I'd touch Destiny if Halo didn't exist
I don't know halo that much but destiny has some fire lore.
alien woman that flies controls everything if i remember correctly. we'll just end of beating her like every boss in every expansion and if she isnt defeated in the final 10 minute mission then its gonna be a 'never before seen in the history of destiny" raid

That's why Activision not fix Warzone bug because of this:
https://kotaku.com/activision-blizzard-sued-by-california-over-widespread-1847339746
not the same studios btw
If we're being real cod studios probably do the same shit
Also who is surprised by wow players hating women
Fucking hate GTA online
No better price than free
hell no
even if I get it for free in the epic store i'll be paying them with my dignity
and i'll be also supporting terrible business practices
its not the same thing
You're literally not paying for anything getting it
But you are showing the indie developers your support for the game
Uh hu
Battlefront players anyone?
yeah, me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmydHpHZOew on War Thunder my mate recreated the Battlefield 1942 trailer
Verdun gives you acute ptsd, with a side of shellshock
yes
congrats
hey goopy next wipe (next thursday) do u want to play on a duo only server ?
just sweat the fuck out of it
you could make it a trio and invite me
id be down to join
you play on officials?
i bought tarkov and just couldnt commit
learning curve is just wayyyy to much
its alot easier with someone to play it with
i also prefer playing with a team
solo is more hard because if you dont have the best of gear and you come up against a 4 man for instance.....your dead lol
i got into tarkov, took a pistol in and killed 3 guys
didnt know what to do or where to go after that
do you have tarkov installed ?
nah not rn
im down to play it if you want to download it and i can help you out
i dont know if i can commit my soul like that right now
mainly just quest, loot, kill and extract
yeah
and have fun but in tarkov thats hard sometimes lol
let me figure out what the hell my account info is and ill gather the willpower to play
wipe was like 3 weeks ago also so if you do decide to play your not that far behind people
oh nice
when i got the game it was coming to the end of the wipe and i had pretty bad gear compared to everyone else who was running tier 6 armour and HK's all day
ah
i have no idea when i played
all i know is i murdered
i had like a 22. rifle for a bit
when was it you played ? was it months ago im guessing ?
yeah you might of joined mid wipe then
hacker voice. im in
i got the game this year in march i think and i joined near the end of wipe
its 3am for me rn so im about to go to sleep soon but i will play when i wake up
lmao
we can hopefully get some tasks done straight away also hopefully
most of the starting tasks everyone has done by now so it should be easy for you to do
i didnt even know there were tasks
lol
most dealers give you tasks throughout the game and you can earn weapons/gear, money, XP, and reputation from doing them
I want to play Anthem... I have it.. but haven't played it yet.
Not sure how I should feel about that.
It's not that bad, I played it for a bit, had good fun
I never made too too much progress though
I got it for my xbox. Gonna have to find some people who have it.

Eve...
I’m so excited for Call Of Duty: Vanguard & Halo multiplayer, this year gonna be wild for gaming, also the games I haven’t bought last year
I hope Vanguard is good, but the leaks aren't saying it will be.
(Leaks from reliable sources) :(
Halo is looking great though
Is Boundary coming out for PS5?
I would think it is, if it's being released now it should be set for PS5 (and XSX) soon / after launch
Boundary gta 6 and bf2042 are the only games I look forward to on next gen. But I heard boundary will be a ps exclusive.
Ah man boundary is that space fps right?
oh man boundary looks cool
I don't know why anyone is excited for Vanguard. It's the second COD game set in WWII in the span of 4 years, it's being made by sledgehammer (arguably the worst dev team working on COD), and it's going up against Infinite and 2042.
probably the only good that will come of it will be the warzone integration.
How can one support cod after everything with activision as well I feel morally wrong to even touch cod now
i don't think that it's wrong to use their product, i just won't support the team behind it until they make amends
Sure but spending money on cod does go back to acti-blizzard not just the cod devs
Makes them more money off steam
Theyre avoiding the platform tax on steam
Sucks for cod players
@ebon root tarkov time?
yup im down
sick
u want to go into reg a boosters 2 ?
sure
@ebon root something came up, i gotta go for a while
bruh how hard is it for activision to come up with reasonable prices for their games on xbox lmao
cod ww2 is fucking 27.49 pounds
and bo4 is.. 30 pounds
its like they dont want xbox players to try out their games
oh yeah black ops 1 is 25 pounds
minecraft when
Indeed when
their prices suck
You're telling me that $50 is too much for Call of Duty Black Ops 2, a game for the Xbox 360?
Ungrateful

my guess is that we can play before 1 day later a new patch hits mc.....
Skyrim
anyone on BC2 recently? cant login cuz of too many attempts, saw a thread where you have to wait an hour before trying again....?
https://skribbl.io/?zxA5bS9SZmdQ skribblio time

i mean
I remember that Rockstar said that all protagonists from previous games were dead
This was a long while though but I still remember they said that

I Forgor 💀
the 'Caves and Cliffs' experimental world setting for Minecraft is a little unbalanced fyi, diamonds are everywhere
Pog
i forgor😭
TES4 Oblivion
I decided to replay GoT again and completely forgot how good it looked
It’s getting ready to be reveal in August I believe
Activision always don’t let their games cheap. I don’t know why
I’m excited for Vanguard because it’s going to be on Modern Warfare 2019 engine, it’s rumor to be like Wolfstein kind WW2 because it’s a different reality of WW2. Sledgehammer Games might not be great, but people now loving Call Of Duty: WW2 that came out in 2017. It’s your opinion that you don’t like it, but doesn’t make it facts brother
I don’t care what the leaks say. It’s all an subjective opinion
I just hope 2042 is gonna be good
Portal is looking veeeeery interesting
why is kh3 still 60$
its like almost 3 years old now and its still full price on pc lmao
cod bo3 is 6 years old and still being sold for 60$ lol
bo3 is also activision so
what did you expect
glad u like it
if anyone ever wants to start a completely legal shootout with the del lobo gang in rdr2 head down to thieves landing in hennigans stead
if you wanna be stealthy row a boat all the way to the big boat docked in thieves landing and sneak on up to the maxim gun and literally annhilate everyone
We have an extra channel for that kind of stuff
#streams-and-videos
Np, just mentioning it
For anyone that bought Tarkov, wich payment method did you use because i am having issues with the debit/credit option
The best gun modification ever
Warface had a good modification menu too
It’s Tom Henderson right? Biased person because he works for DICE 🤣
any other fc fans here hyped for far cry 6?
so new order is the first one in wolfenstien series
may I ask who joe is?
didnt know wolfenstein was this good
thought it was out for a year
No, the first one is from the 90s.
i remember when For Honor was actually a little realistic
ultrakill is
, can't wait for more levels
actually 80s
the very first one is Castle Wolfenstein from 1981
It got a sequel called Beyond Castle Wolfenstein in 1984
both of them were top down adventure games
Wolfenstein 3D is a remake of the first two games

@dark panther CoD or its Battle Pass?
battlepass
Why do you think so?
Actually, according to some player research, XP does play a role in CoD's BP, but it's not a heavy weight in the overall progress.
i like fortnites older system where you ranked up the battle pass with each level
Regardless, time-based progression is still much better than PUBG's "destroy an enemy's helmet without actually killing them X times" or similar quests.
I havn't tried Fortnite's system, so I cannot comment on that.
But as far as I know, it requires you to do some arbitrary tasks as well?
no
theres challenges that get you extra xp
but if you just play and do well you can unlock stuff fairly quickly
Are the challenges anything very specific or just stuff you'd do during regular gameplay anyways?
some were fetch quests some were just stuff that happens normally
and theres like 20 to do at any given time so you have lots of options on how to earn extra xp
yes but way better bc your xp goes towards your battlepass tier
You mean it is directly xp based?
yes
I see.
also theres double xp really often
so its pretty good
they changed it recently though and it kinda sucks now
The only "issue" I might see with basing it purely on XP in CoD is this: How would one separate level progression from bp level progression?
now you just earn like tokens to unlock stuff like the mcc battlepass
Fortnite only has one level, right?
thats the thing with fortnite, it wasnt
your level was your bp level
it reset every season
That's what I meant. However, in CoD you have a seasonal level that is related to prestiging and stuff and a separate BP level.
So you say that they should merge the two, correct?
i think so yeah
I can agree with that. It does feel arbitrary in CoD to have two separate leveling tracks, especially if both reset seasonally anyways.
i think if they did 100 levels per battlepass like they have now, then did 100 levels per prestige
you start a new battlepass with each prestige
you get the new bp when you complete the current one
then no one misses out and you have a prestige system
That would be awesome, basically prestige system what so many people wanted back combined with the rewards of BP. How would the monetization work though? It would not be time limited I assume, but would you be able to buy the BPs in any order if you are late to the party?
yeah like they have now with free rewards and paid rewards
if you complete one without buying, you can go back and pay for it
to get the paid rewards
Yes, this actually sounds really good. The big question though is how much the fact that it is not time-limited would affect profits. I have a feeling that it would have a big impact on them, otherwise the time limit would not be a thing.
maybe have it reset with each new cod game release?
but idk i dont think removing the time limit would affect profits
if anything itd make the profits go up
So you'd have like a year to do it, still getting people to get the newest game while new.
yes
I'd like to believe this, but unfortunately this is most likely not true due to FOMO. Whoever invented the BP system's current iteration definitely did market and psychological research.
The one year limit absolutely sounds like a workable compromise for a game that has a yearly release, yes.
It would essentially work like some MMO expansions where the expansion is relevant as long as the new one does not come out.
sadly none of this is gonna happen, since its too pro consumer for activision
Well, maybe it won't be Activision who'll pursue a more fair monetization system, but someone else could.
as of rn it looks like thatll be 343i and xbox
Interesting. Thanks for the discussion! 🙂
hopefully someone at ea sees this convo and takes some notes lol
Well, I am definitely taking notes as someone who aspires to be a game dev. 😄
@onyx nest Are you sure it was because of us being kids and not because games are just less magical nowadays in general?
hopefully that works out for you, i wish you luck on your aspirations
Eh to be brutally honest I think most of it really does come down to us not being kids anymore
It’s easy to trash on modern games but if we had them back then it would’ve blown our minds lol
Thanks a lot, haha! I am hoping that I can restore some kind of mutual dev-player... respect? Not sure what the right word here would be. But my main driving force is to create something cool that people would enjoy and have fun with.
@onyx nest I agree that that is likely part of the thing, but I don't think it is the whole picture.
But I’m not even gonna start on the ways that big publishers take advantage of kids with predatory tactics and underlying tactics to get them addicted or build the sense of FOMO etc.
Yes, that would be a discussion for another day. However, I'd like to talk a bit more about the "magic" thing.
Yeah yeah I get you, it’s important to note but it’s a whole other topic
idk why and how but valve turned me into a csgo skin junkie
they look so cool
and are cheap
I have friends who made a killing off cs skins and pubg lol
I think that one thing that has taken away from the magic is that nowadays the game design of games seems to be way too on point. What I mean is: It often feels like there are no longer just random abilities or functionalities that don't really serve a purpose and are just there because they are cool or fun.
I don’t know how true it is but games going back to maybe the 360 ps3 days, certainly on ps2, you could tell when something was built with passion
Yes, yes, that is big one.
A lot of games nowadays are built AROUND profits.
Not about doing something awesome.
A ton of Easter eggs, some awesome skyline in the background with more detail than it really needed. It’s weird because like, take ratchet and clank games, the new one is incredibly impressive visually, and must’ve taken a crazy amount of man hours, but I can appreciate the ps2 games so much more
In the case of R&C, I have seen multiple people saying they should get the old composer back. I heard the OST is kinda generic Hollywood-y epic music now?
And the truth is those old ones probably had only a couple guys working on the art for environments, insanely limited by what they could produce, but idk it just looked great
Yes, getting something really good out of limited hardware is a skill and art in itself.
Oh yeah well R&C is like my go to nostalgia game, I’ve listened to the soundtrack of the originals too many times and when I watched the opening for the new one the whole presentation and music felt really… it’s not generic but it didn’t feel uniquely R&C
I am just saying that I am never going to forget playing through the Orxon planet as a kid. 😄
I am to this day amazed by the music that plays in that level, how well it captures the feel of the place.
It’s weird, I know that when you go back technically speaking those games are really rather simple and full of hacky code to even get stuff running, where the newer ones are huge, sprawling, mechanically incredible. But even though it’s on a whole other level it doesn’t do justice to the originals for me
And I’m not smart enough to be able to really figure out how to explain why
A lot of people feel like the original trilogy is just something else. I havn't played the new games, but the originals are just really really good games.
Even now orxon is tough as nails with the o2 mask
Actually, it is very difficult to find the "magic". It is somewhat of a quest of mine to be able to figure out what the "magic" of X game is/was. I mean, if I could do that it would be helpful when designing my own game in the future.
There’s a really good series of videos on YouTube about the games
Though they don’t exactly share the sentiment I had playing as a kid
It’s kind of eye opening how the third game nearly flopped
And after seeing this guy dissect it it doesn’t really hold up to the others even though as a kid I thought it was turning everything to 11
To be honest, I don't remember much from the second and third games, I mostly remember the first one. Even though it was not the only one I beat multiple times. I definitely went through the second one multiple times as well, but can't really remember anything other than the fact that you could buy weapons from the previous game on some desert planet and the final level with the huge building in the darkness.
In comparison, I remember a lot of places and levels from the first game.
For whatever reason I had the second game originally and played the ever loving shit out of it
In fact I might’ve not finished the first game until after I beat the third
The weapons could be upgraded so much in that one. I think it took multiple playthroughs to max out the weapons.
The original is definitely a hell of a lot harder without strafing and your go to weapons being the more basic full auto pistol (can’t use while moving right?) bomb glove and the rocket launcher
Wait no you can fire while moving I think
But something about it was way more awkward to aim with
Idk lol
I think one of the things was that back in the day even "kids games" were not afraid to challenge the player at least a bit. (Come on, Orxon was a nightmare when I was a kid. It was difficult, but it was also unsettling, mostly thanks to the soundtrack.)
Actually, this makes me wonder how often old game OSTs included ambience in the music itself.
I replayed the first last year through totally legitimate means and it was still really challenging
everyone's driving that super fast calico gtf in gta online races
But also as a kid I somehow missed that you could buy more health
Gaming trends have changed a lot throughout the years. As someone interested in game design, one thing I don't like is the "everyone has to see all content" design in modern MMOs. It usually results in the entire open world being without any real dangers and instanced content having difficulty levels.
Now, I entirely understand that it is cool to be able to see everything the game offers, but in my opinion it takes away from the immersion. I liked it when MMOs felt like an actual world you were playing in. Yes, the dragon's lair was a super dangerous place and it was an experience in itself to get even just halfway through the cave/dungeon.
based
Honestly theyre out of ideas to create something new and original
Its just copy and paste now
Look at assassin's creed for instant
Well I’d say a lot of games these days, it’s a bit like YouTube, they want player retention. Back in the old days you bought a game and that was it, you were a customer with a full product, go and enjoy it and spread the word that you enjoyed it. The linear single player games would be packed with content and mostly free of bugs because once it went gold that’s the final product. Now if they even make a single player game it has to have content held back to be added later etc etc
Used to be a great franchise
Now its just a rip off witcher with a broken rpg system which makes 0 sense
Honestly, creating something new and original wouldn't even be necessary. Improving on stuff would be enough. However, improvements nowadays are mostly graphics-focused, not gameplay focused.
true
Cyberpunk for example
Looks amazing
Game itself is very lifeless
Once you finish the story the game is done there is no reason for you to go back and play the repetitive side missions
Hm... in the case of MMOs, the current trend seems to be "make it easy but timegate it to make sure people don't finish the game too early".
Anyways, I always thought it was cool when some parts of the world were simply less dangerous while others were very dangerous, essentially making the difficulty system an organic part of the game.
Games are all about wasting your time now
Like every mulitplayer game that came out recently
Cyberpunk is a lot like no mans sky, a victim of its own success. They promised bigger and bigger things until the requirements got totally out of hand, and got backing from massive names who ended up forcing stuff that the game couldn’t realistically achieve, and of course having to be released far far too early
Have you noticed how slow the progression is?
Its like they want you to spend hours grinding
cyberpunk just had solid marketing
They were also forced to release it cause of deadlines and investors wanting their money. Honestly, it sucks, but some people went too far with the... um... "criticism".
As for NMS, yes, that game is amazing nowadays.
paid off so many youtubers and streamers for good reviews
tricking the average consumer in the process
8 million pre orders lmao
I mean, grinding used to be a thing in MMOs since... always? But yes, almost every MP game wants to use MMO-like RPG mechanics now.
Leveling, weekly/daily quests, etc
My experience with MMOs is basically all RuneScape lol. Another game where if you looked deep there really wasn’t a whole lot to it, but god did it absolutely draw me in as a kid. I’ve played the old school version more recently and achieved stuff in 2 days that it took me 2 years to do before
Shit grinding is fine if you dont have a job or school
If you work majority the week i rather have a game I can just hop on and have fun
for a few hours
reasons why i started playing competitive arena shooters now
quick simple fun and its not time consuming
The grinding aspect definitely sucks, but unfortunately you just gotta accept you’re not the target audience anymore
I tried that game a long time ago but never really got into it. Nowadays it is the monetization scheme that keeps me away. Feels like... there is just too much cash shop stuff, at least in the modern version.
I remember spending far too much time at the tv after school as a kid
I think grinding is fine in games as long as you grind when you want.
the most recent assasins creed game
probably the most time consuming game theyve released
half of the side content is pointless
The modern one I wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole, I think that the monetisation isn’t strictly as bad as it looks but I’m still not remotely interested, and it’s just not the game I grew up with that had that silly charm of basically single pixels for eyes. Technically far more impressive, but just not for me anymore
Ok sure, but you can play it whenever, it does not go anywhere, right? What sucks is when someone playing 10 minutes daily gets them many times the rewards than someone playing 2 hours at sunday.
ik but like why are people buying them
before we would just pay for a dlc or something
now its legit reskinned cosmetics being sold for $20+
I mean, I don't see anything wrong with buying it if it gives you enjoyment. The problem is when there are no alternatives. Let me give an example:
I don’t know which is more correct, that they’re greedy putting these mtx options in assassins creed or wherever, or that it’s actually necessary because of the cost of games these days. Genuinely I have no idea, like you didn’t have to worry about running a bunch of servers back in the ps2 days
oh yeah i forgot
If the game has 100 cosmetics and there is a cash shop that adds 5 more for a cost, that shouldn't be a big problem.
games are much more expensive to produce now
But if the game only has a defauly outfit and 100 cosmetics in the shop...
that is a problem in a single player game
ubisoft is done for honestly
this year they have nothing good coming out
siege is dying out slowly too
I mean, is that not true? Hundreds of people in teams and those guys earn quite a bit I think.
But yes, I don't agree with Ubisoft's practices.
most of their fanbase wants a good splinter cell game
Single player games should not contain MTX.
but ubisoft just said fuck you and gave us a free to play generic fps
DLCs and expansions are okay.
Ok, I still want to get the PoP 2008 cliffhanger resolved. 🙂
It’s a bit like with how dlc has worked in the past. If it’s a really good value for money expansion that brings you back to the game then it seems awesome. If you learn they essentially had to scrap content and leave you with a barebones game to sell it to you afterwards then it seems very shitty. I’ve just remembered how big ‘Day 1 DLC’ fiascos were
FarCry2 best FarCry2 :change my mind
theyre milking tom clancys name
fc2 was solid
Yeap
actually forced you to play smart
It was such a boring game. The constantly respawning outpost enemies and enemies constantly appearing out of nowhere behind you in armed cars was dumb too IMO.
You die so easily in fc2
That's the point tho
plus fc2's physics
It's not meant to be easy
Depends on difficulty setting, or? I played on the hardest difficulty but never finished the game cause it felt a bit tedious.
As long as you play on normal I guess.
That XDefiant game they’re making just looks… ugh it just ‘looks’ so bland and designed by a board room ticking boxes. They talked about making this great gunplay in the reveal and it just looks like a very simple mobile fps to me gunplay wise
On "brutal" sniper shots to naked people don't kill them.
I just liked burning random stuff with flamethrowers in fc2
those fire physics were on point
And the flame went with the wind, which for 2008 was high tech
and the ai wasnt braindead either
Nope
Never played fc2 but I remember the videos of the fire spreading and it looked amazing
I am sure that not everyone does that. I think most DLCs are still legit content that was made later. Obviously when it is already on the disc and you just unlock it that feels shitty.
I do remember this. It was cool.
sadly fc3 was the last good far cry game we got
I think going back 2 generations it happened a lot honestly (but I obviously can’t really prove that without scanning the internet for hours which I’m not prepared to do haha)
Well, I mostly don't play Western RPGs, so I wouldn't know. I am more of a JRPG guy.
Good old Far Cry 2 in 4K quality! Still holding up pretty well! Looks and sounds great!
Good textures, awesome variety of weapons, inspect animations! and a huge map! Far Cry 2 was way ahead of it's time! Let's not forget the awesome fire propagation and the beautiful dynamic weather! The sound design was also quite outstanding IMO! Check it ou...
No way it looks this good just upscaled.
oh i just remembered
The hell?
Yes, this was a realistic aspect.
Was definitely a game that had a lot of thought put into it, trying to push a genre forwards
Instead of rehashing and just making everything ‘bigger’
And when the rpg buggered up it would really bugger up
fr you know for sure they were passionate about fc2
True, but did FC2 have any wild animals? I felt the world was too empty. The intro had some zebras but never found them in the open world.
This CAN be a good thing and I feel that certain genres need this. But obviously it is not a catch-all solution to everything.
the online mode for their games is a whole different story
Yeah, like when that random guy fixed their loading times LOL
I remember a game called GUN.
gun?
Hahah, yeah, I don't think many people know that game. Same with Boiling Point: Road to Hell
That one was kind of like Far Cry, but had a lot more RPG mechanics.
Unfortunately still not on Steam
Heck, can't find a digital version anywhere.
The second game is on Steam though.
atleast you got to enjoy older games when game devs actually cared
even though bf 2042 is looking solid so far
still not going to pre order until i see some unscripted gameplay
Hey, I think a lot of game devs still do care. BF 2042 looks really solid, yes. And the FF14 dev team is awesome too.
these people have their hopes up way too high
half of them are gonna be disappointed
im hyped too
I don't think I have seen that in an AAA game before.
but i know that i have to keep my expectations low
got finessed last year cause of cyberpunk
Well, my expectation is 128 players, big maps, some game modes and visual scripting.
I am sure all of those will be in the game.
I want some kind of frontlines mode.
but people are compared portal to halo forge
Where it both parties need to attack AND defend.
I dont think portal is going to have custom player made maps like halo though
They did say it is not going to AFAIK.
Hey any BF4 veteran here?
Not me.
Damn it
me
Oh good
played it on ps3,ps4 and now pc
But why not #battlefield-legacy-titles ?
no one is answering there
I just want to know how do you pick vehicles fast i saw some youtubers doing it
#battlefield-legacy-titles is usually dead
spam click on the vehicle icon
thats what i do
once it spawns you get a spot right away
ah thanks
Honestly, this Discord server has issues with keeping the channels on topic. #battlefield-2042 is just a moshpit of everything nowadays.
i doubt the mods mind
Most places don't allow advertising, so how would one go about making people know about their new gaming community?
I have recently and also stopped.
People just mass downvote everything they don't agree with.
There is no point.
Feels like a massive echo chamber.
You could post something that you put effort into and barely get attention.
But the 100th post swearing about their new video palyer gets hundreds or thousands of upvotes AND awards.
Majority of them people dont even care
about what theyre reading on reddit
also check this game out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nil86RfgEFE
its halo/portal combined into one
Yeah, I have decided to avoid Reddit and Twitter for now.
Also the graphics remind me of Planetside 2.
Maybe shouldn't have used the same colors for portals as the Portal games though.
The orange one could have been red at least.
nvm, there are multiple colors
splitgate is a genius idea though
take stuff from other games and combine it into one
the guns feel like halo though
Man, then you would really like that game I saw some days ago.
let me find it
idk maybe ive been playing too much halo on mouse and keyboard
halo is really a game made for controllers
i hope halo infinite makes it even for both controller and mnk
that bullet magnetism controllers player have is broken
they dont even need to be precise with their shots
halo4 was the only game that felt balanced for mouse and keyboard and controllers
looks fun
but idk how i feel about building your own stuff ingame
fortnite made me hate games like that
IDK how it works. Maybe there are custom settings for servers.
But the building here makes sense cause it is fully destructible.
FAITH!

i shall check out the hype about this game
looks interesting
maby i wont
guess thats what happens when a player count on average goes from like 6k to 60k
solid fucking game @solid remnant
but controller players are screwed on that game
you need to hit level 15 to play ranked then i can finally play in mouse and keyboard only lobbies
shits not fun destroying controller dudes
That game is horrible.
Don't think it can. In fact, pretty sure it cannot.
What made you hate the game so much
I actually want to know @noble pagoda
The game itself is kinda unique to me only game where I never have to stand still
If I want I can run around the map for the whole game
Is it on ps4?
Yeah
Nice, I might try it if it goes crossplay
Already has it
Ive been playing with ps4 peeps
Lol closest they can get to halo and its fun.
Man generation zero does a real good job at making you feel lonely
No hate. I don't tend to hate things--just an observation that I think as an arena shooter it doesn't play for me. Didn't find it challenging in a good way, things were a bit too loose/gameplay wasn't really focused, the portal pops were annoying, weapons were jank, and just some general glitchiness, but admittedly I played it 'early-on' after watching Summit1G give it a try. I felt like half the time I was just chasing someone around the map instead of getting consistent engagement and that just gets old. Seemed overly repetitive, much like HALO for me, so if someone likes HALO, they might like that. I just don't see much hope of it improving--they'd have to certainly overhaul and add some different modes for more flavor at minimum. The other thing is I think they've just come to the market too late in a industry saturated with these kinds of games. It was unique as a take, but overall not for me.
Reading the latest reviews, it seems a lot of the same things that afflicted it early still exist. That's odd considering how long this game has been available. This bump in userbase I am assuming is from a Steam free-play or sale event? I mean their traffic like quadrupled in July. Sounds like it broke supporting servers and/or matching as well.
Graphics do look better though. They re-skin this?
All these "streamer games" blow up and then die super quick
same thing happened to Rouge Company
The game isn't even in beta, they are going closed alpha in 5 August lmao
Still looks terrible, some 60 year old balding board room directors got together, saw an e girl playing siege, and then thought "HUH THIS MUST BE OUR TARGET AUDIENCE, MAKE AN ENTIRE GAME ON THAT USING 2015 ASSETS"
I mean it looks terrible, but at least it's free
unlike outbreak or whatever that other siege clone is
Bump in userbase is from the addition of crossplay
And I agree with the game not being challenging
Pretty sure they put you up against bots and lower skilled players until you hit level 15
Then it’ll start feeling like an actual competitive arena shooter
Rip ubisoft
All their games are ass this year
Their games have been ass since like 2010
Lowkey I was expecting a better version of siege
But nah they just re skinned the game and trying to get people to buy a alien game for like 60$
They didn’t even update the graphics or movement
Same shit from 2015
lol exactly
its like the most minimal effort possible
its kinda sad
if they were really that lazy they could have just reskinned R6 and modernized it
but no
I guess they gotta milk everything
Yes they should have
XD probably would have been received better if it didn't have his name attached
lol
It's about time Splinter Cell made a comeback
Like xdefiant is a big fuck you to tom clancy fans
I thought everyone moved on from those generic free to play games we used to see on steam
But not Ubisoft apparently
And assassins creed what even is odyssey and vallaha
Yeah true
I’m pretty sure they ran out of ideas after ac3
AC4 was the last great AC
Yeah true
Yeah it had great parkour
shame the PC port is a mess, just like every other mid 2010's ubi game
Didn’t play that one
Think I played blacklist
Really is
Even now they’re terribly optimized
Man playing on 150+ ping RS2 servers is sure an expierence
I love literally not being able to hit fuck all
Im a god with the m16 though
hittin those 100+ meter shots
this game is so fun though
its like BF Vietnam but good
anyone know if fall guys is still active ?
eh rifleman is the best class
Snipers one tap
I remember playing that game a lot when my ssd stopped working
Only game i had installed on my hdd
Ay lets go fucking go
Someone else here plays foxhole as well
Best game to play drunk
Majority of the gameplay is just you talking to your teammates over the mic
Odyssey is Ghost Recon: Wildlands reskinned with swords and forced soloing.
You didn't like the RPG aspect?
I thought it was fun.
I didn't like that they took a two year old format of gameplay and re-skinned it. We'd already grown tired of GRW by that point, which was the whole reason for the shift with Breakpoint.
Both were overly redundant task games, but ACO moreso than the former.
I'm a logistics guy myself
But basically yeah
I never really played wildlands or breakpoint
=[ so I guess I got nothing to compare it to lol
Love transporting shit tons of basic materials and vehicles via barge or cargo ships
Most fun I've had is farming 25k bmats per hour and transporting it to multiple fronts
The game is its own logistics simulator
Logi playstyle is respectable
we need people like you
I just like the chaos of the frontlines
I only do logi if im with a group of friends then it doesnt get boring @quiet sail
It just felt like they were trying to rip off witcher 3
If they made something original and it was an rpg
would have been a decent game
If I go to the frontline, I am either running dropped guns and ammo back to base and collecting dropped medical stuff and giving it to medics.
One thing I love is being barraged by a salvo of artillery. The sounds are so good
I will also use a bicycle to run ammo to the front and distribute it between people that need it
same im usually scavenging or doing medic stuff
What’s the best AC to buy
Graphics doesn’t matter much if the story +game play are good
story and dlcs were solid
but the side missions
jeez
i kinda hated doing them even though we were forced to
@solid remnant stop playing rust fucker
