cyberpunk was an rpg fps with devs that had way too much ambition for a game in a genre they never worked with. plus they thought they could just easily downscale the game for ps4/xboxone. bf42 so far is making sure it runs on ps4/xbone by comprising and limiting its content. it's also made by devs that alreay have a ton of years experience making similar games, so they only really have to expand and improve on the core foundation that battlefield is. they also received a bit extra dev time due cannceling their previous game's live service early

so there's a lot less chance it becomes a disaster ala cyberpunk

Wondering when Rockstar is going to actually make a decent game for once and not just run the same games into the ground for years

Because at this point Rockstar is the worst AAA developer

All of the missions for most games is just go place, talk, grab something, talk, bring item to place. Occasionally a chase that can just be exploited

Especially multiplayer missions, it's all bring stuff to other stuff.

There's literally a mission where you just have to drive around in a mail truck all around the city, and it's not even a filler random mission, it's to sell a whole companies worth of product that you've been building up to for about a week or so

Rockstar have managed to make "Let's sell illegal imported drugs and counterfeit items worth millions" boring

There's also a lot of weird and random difficulty spikes in the AI of some of these games.

Max Payne shows that Rockstar can make good games if they try but during certain missions of GTA or Red Dead, the AI does humanly impossible things or things that the player is just unable to do like aiming the miniguns off the buzzard individually or unload the entire magazine of a heavy machine gun in 1 second. Sometimes AI would manage to fire all 6 shots of a revolver in under a second.

Also enemy difficulty changes at weird times, sometimes 2-bit gangsters who only have experience of... robbing convenience stores can take more shots than trained US Army soldiers wearing ballistic vests and a fat guy would sometimes take more shots than a guy who has years of experience with guns and gun fighting

and if someone is going to talk about graphics, no shit, it's a AAA studio, even cartoon games have jaw dropping graphics, even Ratchet and Clank now gives my eyes a good time.

I was gifted HLL by a friend that has like 200 hours in it and most of the experience was just... talking about the real world.

20% Catching up with each other in real life
5% Cracking random jokes
3% Talking to other players about real life
2% Talking about the actual game in the game we're in/call-outs, orders, etc.

I did find out that most players in the game didn't have life insurance though :'D

Enlisted's only problem is progression but since every bolt action can one-shot and every automatic one frames you in cqc it doesn't matter

Oh and of course there were players shouting at me for just... having regular discussion in the game and I followed promptly with a "Fuck you"
