it's rather fun. This, the finals and 2042 (when i'm in a good mood) are the only pvp shooters I really play nowadays.
Good movement, good ttk, plenty of clear weapon stats and good weapon mechanics.
The most annoying thing are the abilities, you'll find yourself just dying at random times because a cleaner ran in and pressed one button. But if you can look past those moments as necessary evils, it's fun

feels like it actually rewards your investment in growing mechanically, with enough depth to make longer term play fun

it's my first time using oneshot snipers in games though besides the kraber so it's odd to get used to lol

Surprisingly positive. Once you hop in it does feel best for beat like battlefield. I’ve only got about 3 hours from my session yesterday but you could jump right in, play it like battlefield and understand what to do entierly.

Some key points worth mentioning: gunplay, movement, characters, loadouts, flow and QOL.

Gunplay is honestly really fun, I can see why people were looking forward to it. Essentially it’s a set recoil pattern (which can be viewed on the stats screen), with ever so slight deviation like csgo, but the crosshair will decouple from screen centre and shake a fair bit, which itself is tied to a stat. Bullets fire where the crosshair goes, so that replicates battlefield’s spread as a means to control engagement ranges. Therefore you have to learn where the centre point of that cone is relative to the crosshair for that specific gun and keep your target there to maximise hit chance. And of course the sounds and animations are stellar to boot.

Movement is feeling a little odd at the moment. The camera is in your head as always but it’s offset slightly forward over your centre of mass, so when you do a full rotation and your character interpolates to that new spot your camera does a quick little jolt as it rotates around com. Sprinting is fast, tactical is faster and lasts forever I believe. No mid air strafing, you can however do one bhop before jump fatigue kicks in. Only one character can slide, which goes a far distance but has no acceleration like 2042.

The characters in terms of voice lines are hit or miss. The ambient solider dialogue in game is fine but there are a couple quotes that do irk me. The abilities are a mixed bag too. You’ve got mostly harmless ones like the syringe gun and speed boost, the triple grenade launcher is at times annoying but there’s time to run still, the worst one for me is the sonar arrow on the lady, as it does make it feel like you are spotted all the time.

Loadouts though are huge, so many options, so many parts for each gun. There’s a detailed page covering exact sprint to fire times, recoil pattern changes with before and after which is insane, and you can even share loadouts with a string…

While I disliked the way cod handled this system, owing to how everything just gave huge disadvantages, I can see this being far more fun as it offers a good balance between ups and downs.

As for general game flow, it's same old BF. Not much else to say really. You get some ability usage here and there, but it feels identical.

There are some QOL things they really aught to implement, ironically taking more from BF might make it feel better lol.

like for instance reviving puts you in an animation akin to bfv, which can clip you through walls or put you in an unsafe position, i'd personally rather have 2042's system. You can't change loadouts mid game for some reason, and there are some audio issues like a constant heartbeat sound which makes me ill
