It’s got a lot going on. Essentially the gun sight is completely decoupled from screen centre and the projectile angle is completely relative to the barrel angle. Going into ads has the sight and rear misaligned, and it takes several seconds for them to aim straight. And suppression causes the barrel to kick in huge amounts. It forces you to play more defensive, holding angles for an hour and setting up squad security, while making suppression vital in making any kind of push. A lot of it is also the rpg systems and build making, with some at times over the top complexity that allows for constant replays and different experiences each time

At first glance it might look like dying to bosses over and over, but it’s enjoyable simply fighting something, win or lose

bosses are a main draw, but to me its just a complete package of a game. elden ring is a good jump in because if you do ever get stuck on a boss you are either in the wrong spot, or can just go somewhere else

id say im an above average gamer, but its rare that MOST boss fights take more than 5 deaths to beat

its rare to beat a boss first try, just because you havent learned their tells yet
