so originally it was like this, according to a community manager who has now deleted her trace online since she talked too much:
helldivers 2 has too many cheaters, AH team couldn't handle all the ban since they also have to deal with the legal side of banning someone, so they had sony step in, and by connecting your account to a psn account, sony can ban more efficiently

so I guess they just steamroll it from there
