the thing about xdefiant is that its modes feel super casual. in a good way. it gives me nostalgia to those moments where i got out of highschool and booted up team fortress 2 and just do a few rounds of payload. it's low stakes and good variety in gunplay and classes.

I played the suicide squad beta and it was utter garbage. Finished the tutorial but didn’t finish the first mission and had to uninstall. Friend thought the same thing. We didn’t like the look of the purple alien stuff. It all felt very PG to include these type of enemies. Gameplay felt very casual very arcadey. Every single character felt the same their setup was the same they just executed it slightly differently. One teleports with a boomerang the other shoots a zipline. Voice actors and writing seemed good. The main gameplay was you jumping on top of rooftops to kill 10-20 enemies and rinse and repeat. Yawn… it should’ve been a single player game like guardians of galaxy. Which had terrible combat but the world was beautiful and the characters were super funny.
