the disk holds some of the stuff for the install but most games have to pull extra and obviously do updates anyway, and running off the disk would be pretty awful for a lot of the latest games
given that I tried running 2042 off my game drive in my PC and it was an awful experience, and then after moving it to my boot SSD it ran so much smoother and loaded stuff almost immediately

And there's a lot of pressure in IT jobs, things get easier when you move up. Working as a first line tech, especially in a big customer facing role, essentially makes you the punching bag for everyone's problems, and you often have to take the most shit, do the most physical work.
It was fun for a while, and then it just got tiring, and irritating.

Games, especially AAA games have become a lot more expensive to produce, when you factor in paying the dev teams a fair and proper wage, and all other associated costs. Its also more time consuming, which is where a lot of the extra cost comes in. Sure some developers take the piss with their pricing and some practices are very much greed based rather than a necessity, but considering how much work goes into modern games, compared to many years ago, and how little that cost to the consumer has gone up over the years (for the base game at least) I think its fair.
Obviously you can just not buy it, vote with your wallet and all that.

I think at the moment we are just in a bit of a bad spot with regards to a lot of game dev, because managers and publishers are expecting too much, and games are being released un-finished in order to capitalize on hype and keep interest. Games also release with significantly less content than they used to (not all, but many), because they know that it will sell regardless. Maybe not the best example, and I know its controversial, but in the case of battlefield I preferred the old premium DLC system over what we have now, simply because it seemed to guarantee a solid amount of post launch content. It had many flaws, mainly being that it fragmented the player base later on in the games lifecycle.
But imo all the games since this system was overtaken by skins and microtransactions have felt less finished, like there's significantly less available. Obviously more doesn't equal better, and there were a lot of bad maps back in the day, everyone's opinions on which maps are good seems to vary a lot.
Other games have taken the approach of less is more too, and instead of it being better, it just means a game feels less interesting and gets stale much quicker. Probably a good thing for them as it means that interest will peak for the next game in the series when that launches a year or two later, which is another lump sum for the base game, plus battlepass, and skin sales, etc, for every person that buys, much more than they'd get charging for a few more DLC packs with a long-term support system.
Evidently it works, so it won't change unless people actively try to change it, by not buying. Being vocal about it doesn't make a difference.

Nobody really knows yet, the event didn't cover it in much detail
But it should get a launch around the same time as warzone

East Coast US: 1pm (EDT)

I assume because its US centric, so we over here won't get it until much later so that over in the US its live during the middle of the day

The AI that was in the warzone beta during the event was very dumb, not sure whether it just isn't fully implemented or just needs work, but it was about as good as BF2042s
In that it can see you, start firing and move away if you shoot back and try to find cover.
Its easy to kill, and it seems like it does much less damage than real players.

It also didn't help that the AI were generally not really in the place that they're supposed to shine, in warzone they mostly just hang out in buildings around areas of loot
theres supposed to be fortified zones in warzone and DMZ where the AI is actually hard to fight and is more of a challenge, and if you can beat them you get access to amazing loot
forgot what infinity ward called them
but yeah, its supposed to be an extra gameplay element
like you have the choice of going to these fortified zones and trying to beat the AI to get good loot, obviously other players/teams can also go in there and you may fight over it like that too

So theres different AI with different difficulty levels, outside of strongholds they will generally be pretty weak, whereas if you go into a stronghold you will have more of a challenge
And it seems that difficulty affects what they do as well, the harder ones will use more of the new stuff that infinity ward have been working on to make AI feel more real

okay so first match, not bad, but it takes 1 game for SBMM to kick in so the next will be the decider
if I get absolutely rinsed then I know the SBMM is strong
performance is pretty good
trying out a couple different settings and trying to see whats best

plus I also like that they aren't doing the weird menu with a running game instance of your character walking
for some reason that used to tank my performance even if the game itself ran fine
it was cool and all but it didn't really work very well
this new one seems to be a fair bit better, but its obviously just like a pre-rendered animation or something

I dunno, maybe they just optimized it
but I saw somewhere that in MW19 they basically loaded a full game instance to run that little animation of your character and when you got matched up it rendered in the others players, and it wasn't the most optimised thing in the world.
it just seems like they're doing it a bit different this time around and it makes it run a ton better, probably helps that its a static background rather than the moving animation, and its relatively close POV of the character model
to be fair im running this game far far better than I ever could MW19
its so smooth even at near max settings
