what is most interesting to me is that they've kinda removed that incentive to buy MW2 in order to level up guns for warzone
me and my friends only ended up buying MW19 so we could level up guns in multiplayer to then use in loadouts

Huh if that weapon has a special grip it goes for every AR
its dependent on the weapon platform, attachments and the like can be interchanged with the receiver, not across an entire weapon class. The M4 is the starting point of a weapon family, and then as you progress with unlocks you get to the next receiver in the unlock-tree, which I believe is the M16. So attachments will carry across to other weapons that are specifically in that unlock tree. And the unlock trees aren't just based on a singular weapon class, the weapon families are mixed, so it may contain an AR receiver, an SMG receiver and then an LMG receiver. Unlocking an attachment for an entire class would offer too fast a progression system and put many people off as its one of the main draws of having such a good customization system, so this is a good balance.

I've been trying to find out info on the WW3 game, it looks like its pretty much dead at this point, its still not reached release or even its open beta phase, still closed and you need to buy an access pack to play. But the servers go down on a daily basis and nobody is actually playing it anymore, most people are saying to not bother. Kinda sad cause it actually looked really promising. It started off as a failed project and then went back to the drawing board and came back massively different and much improved but its still no closer to actually coming out, and its gained no real traction.
only learned about it when jackfrags did his video on it and have been loosely keeping an eye on it since then, not much has really happened
it had a really great weapon customization system, and a player customization system as well that instead of offering skins for sale, instead you would buy cosmetic elements that you could use to get the look you want, a very different approach to how most games are now.
it seems its gone onto steam early access but the reviews are almost entirely negative, citing the dead playerbase, bad servers and regular wiping of players advancement and progression without warning

I used to be a hardcore battlefield fan, until I played MW19 and actually really enjoyed it. MW2 is hitting those same spots for me, and unfortunately i'm already getting bored of 2042 and losing interest. I don’t like 2042 at all, been very patient with it so far and I’m still left simply waiting for simple things. But even with that in mind, this game so far doesn’t look interesting enough to sway me just yet. Gundam will be a treat when that launches though

At the moment I have other games that i've been meaning to play, so i'll likely be trying those out instead. Along with MW2 on its launch and then next year i'll have hogwarts legacy to get addicted to. Its unfortunate, but 2042 just doesn't have enough content to keep me engaged. Playing on the same maps over and over again is getting rather stale, and unlike others i'm not someone who cares about getting tier 1 on every gun and specialist, so I don't really have any drive to keep playing. The most fun i've had has been playing on custom-rule portal servers with the classic maps, mostly on rush. But the portal servers die out so quickly and aren't persistent so its only an option later at night most of the time.
I would go back to BFV, but even just playing for an hour or two last week, I got into lobbies with blatant cheaters topping the leaderboard and still DICE/EA refuse to do anything about it
I still enjoy BF1 and happily go back to that when I feel like
