There are some weird oem boards that have hdmi passthrough
So you plug in your gpu, run a short HDMI cable from your GPU's HDMI out to your motherboard's HDMI in and the signal is output from the HDMI out on your motherboard.
But that has become pretty much obsolete since modern CPUs and motherboards can run that over the pci-e.
