that level of heat is totally insane and water cooling will even have a tough time to keep up
3090Ti power consumption increase over the 3090 is probably due to the faster G6X alone
nah, it's just raw throughput
21 Gbps memory gonna run so damn hot you'll probably see lots of reports of 3090Ti dying because of it
Nvidia are about to get totally washed by a 450W semi top Navi 31 card, and they will do what's necessary to not lose
and that includes blowing up power supplies
they'll still probably lose, funny enough
I prefer my GPUs under 200 watts, with a single 8-pin connector
ah yes the good old days of the 2080ti
when 250W of power for a GPU was considered insane
you already have intel for that, if you put 2 fires on a match you'll cause a nuclear eruption
tak be like let me uninstall my central heating and install these parts instead
Some 3090s can already spike up above 500 watts, maybe 4090 will spike close to 1000W
get crypto mining! intel would love for you to buy their $10000 mining chip, never need to buy gas again!
which is also why a whole load of 3090s broke power supplies, and well, went up in smoke
ampere going to look like Nvidia were in the south pole compared to Lovelace soon enough
Companies raising the bar for power usage while simultaneously raising the bar for defective hardware
You think a 600W GPU could survive for years?
I predict that PCBs are gonna bend from the heat
the GPU? ampere coolers (reference) were already massively overengineeered for amperes ridiculous power consumption, but when you're talking 600W levels, some VRMs are definitely going to fry in under 2 years
nothing exists to handle that level of volumetric power, not that Nvidia ever cared about actually not causing space heater products
People made fun of the GTX 480 for power usage and thermals
yeah Fermi will look like child's play by what's to come
bulldozer too
ironically whats even worse for Nvidia is actually buying Lovelace in hot climates will basically be, not an option, unless your house is powered by 5 air conditioners at all times
Yep, even my 180W RX 580 heats up my room a lot
I have core frequency lowered by 5% plus an undervolt which brings it to around 100-120 watts
where are you from?
Texas lol
I know navi 1.5 isn't exactly, great for efficiency, but like
ah explains it
rtx 40 going to cause a fire in your house with Texas temperatures
mouse review of the hyperx pulsefire haste wireless. It definitely has its place in the market at $80 with a safe medium size shape + 60 gram weight but asides from that it feels like a budget offering. still better than a model o wireless for sure. 3335 sensor ftw!
https://hyperx.com/collections/gaming-mice/products/hyperx-pulsefire-haste-wirel...
I've considered having my PC in another room and using a very long video output cable to my room
what's the average ambient temperature of your card?
not Logitech =
if you put the Logitech logo on it I, and everyone else will pay double for it
and add the hero sensor
GPU doesn't touch near 70C with the frequency limit I have on it, ambient room temp is around 22C
$80
thats not bad for a wireless mouse
stock
At stock it will hit 75C and won't go above that because WattMan will increase fan RPM
80 bucks for a wireless mouse that doesnt require replaceable batteries is pretty damn good
bruh holy shit lmao
RTX 3090Ti confirmed launch date by reliable leaker, March 29th launch with extremely low availability
Heard there will only be a couple hundred available globally
Terrible build
only bad thing is gpu, and thats not his fault
You can get RX 6600 for slightly above the price of that 1660 Super lmfao
For way more performance
i could sell my GPU for half of what i bought my pc for if they are going for 400 something
assuming you win the lottery and get a card at msrp
yeah also 12400
RX 6600 are in stock almost everywhere iirc
isnt the 5600x still better? also assuming mbs are much cheaper too
5600X is roughly 3-5% faster than 12400
Marginal really
5600 and 5500 are coming with insane value
arent 12400 going for 205?
only place i can find one in stock is amazon for that price
prices are similar enough and performance is similar enough i really dont see a point in arguing which one to get
i did find a 6600 sapphire pulse for 430
only 100 more than msrp and in stock is the biggest selling point xD
All of RX 6000 series isn't that far off from MSRP
6800XT and 6700XT are the only ones well above MSRP
Intel HEDT 13th Gen Rapids-x coming it looks like can't wait to soo how awesome it is.. I wonder if Non-ECC is supported on these W680 boards with Alder Lake CPU?
I was thinking it should, my last 2 boards supported Xeon, and Core CPUs with ECC, and Non-ECC. I've been waiting a while for this to come to reality.
Also Sapphire Rapids is gonna be insanely too expensive if the HEDT lineup has HBM3 present
You're looking at over $5k for CPU
Yeah suppose to be like 64 or 128 PCIe 5.0 Lanes
Maybe for the Xeon parts, the Intel Core CPU hopefully have sub $1000 CPUs as well
HEDT was so much better and affordable a few years ago
7 years ago my CPU was almost $600
Yeah I'm not paying that kind of money, especially after this fuel economy and war gets done not going to be exactly rich afterwards
the boards do not officially support EEC to begin with, aka its using non EEC, so yes it does
buffered non ECC is regular RAM
there hasnt been a board, in ever, that has only supported EEC
with Xeon CPU?
yes
Well W680 will have a max of 28 PCIe Lanes anyway
I'll wait for W790
I think it's supposed to be 8-channel memory as well will have to wait and see
Well I guess we all knew this was coming. https://www.pcgamer.com/artesian-builds-shuts-down/
love how i hadnt heard of them until legit 3 days ago
same here.
Did you find a solution yet? The most I can play is a few minutes before pc crashes. This never happened before update, tried everything even windows re-install... most times the game doesn't even load before pc resets. So frustrating
AMD announcement at GDC on March 21
nope.
TressFX 5.0 is coming
@real matrix just found this thread on ea, may be a memory issue created by update
RTX 4000 series said to use GDDR7 but I doubt it
I believe it, gives more reason for NVIDIA to jack up prices and the current market situation just makes everyone desperate that they'll buy it anyway
That is true, though I thought GDDR6X was already capable of that?
GDDR6 I'm talking about is actually called GDDR6+ and it uses a newer process than GDDR6 and is faster/more efficient than GDDR6X
I figured RDNA3 and LoveLace would use it
Cable management is important.
Hmmm. just when everyone wants to switch from Windows to Linux. https://www.howtogeek.com/790435/new-dirty-pipe-linux-vulnerability-is-the-worst-in-years/
it doesnt
Lovelace's memory controller has been upgraded to support GDDR7 speed specifications, the first iteration from micron anyways, the actual cards do not use it though
GDDR7 reportedly features a "real-time error protection feature", which should help GDDR7 memory maintain its high speeds while retaining module stability
Fuck, that looks so cool
Yes. It is.
Waiting on my Wireless KB then I will be set😀
Holy crap! That is awesome!
That cooler is MASSIVE!
Lets not talk about how i installed the shroud upside down
I cant bother flipping it 180 degrees
And i never will flip it
HaHa. I didn't even notice. As long as it works for you and runs cool...so be it!
Only difference is that the noctua text is upside down :D
Well if you stand on your head..it is NOT.
But you have to make sure it is on some really thick carpet if you do that!
Would be quite hard to turn it on though, would need to start it by connecting the the 2 pins with something in the motherboard
Microsoft working on a new Xbox codenamed "Keystone"
Xbox handheld apparently
Dragon Crest APU, very similar to the Van Gogh APU in Steam Deck
What's crazy is that the AMD Van Gogh APU was originally ordered for a project by Microsoft a couple years ago but they dipped out and Valve gained interest in it and created the Steam Deck with it
Basically, Microsoft saw the popularity and hype built up for the Steam Deck and grew jealous now they gotta have their own
i have a quick question im trying to play bf4 on my computerand when i open the game the mouse doesn't show up how can i fix that
It's been so long since that happened, can't remember how to fix it. try repairing the game. In Origin, or EA Desktop game settings.
okay thanks
Disable origin overlay
That is the way to fix it
ok thanks
Time for Sony to make their own move and revive PSP
seriously tho, would love a handheld device from Sony. Playing Spider-Man PS4 on a handheld is the dream for me.
can someone tell me if this is normal because ATM my pc is laggy as fuck and constantly freezing and ive got no clue as to why, i open task manager to see if anything is happening and this is what is at the top and i dont think using that much of my CPU is normal
its stupid
it is windows defender
it runs periodic scheduled scans, you can simply cancel it
ahh alr
Could you look at dms real quick?
Couldn’t send the picture in this chat
here its high school equivalent maths
if you wanted a degree in comp sci that is
not a simple question
:D
it depends where you're wanting to go for a career, if you're wanting to enter the very "tail end" of the developer sphere involving high degrees of specialisation, e.g. machine learning/data science, then a bachelor's degree in mathematics (as an equivalent) is what you'll need
any low level hardware forms of programming is also very maths focused and any algorithmic focused role, if it's just a broad sphere of software development, you'll need very little
and on a hobbyist level?
see above
if you're wanting a degree in it though, most institutions follow the mathematic modules as 2 stages less than a BSc
hobbyist close to near 0, or 0
🥵 I'm trying to get it cheaper
motherboard will need a bios update fyi
😩
so youll need a ryzen 3000 chip on hand, if not it wont boot
That's build 2
You can spend a tiny bit more on a b550.
bang for buck cheap https://pcpartpicker.com/list/92xQZw
I want white aesthetics & some rgb.
boooooooooooooooo
Yeah. I'm sorry. =[
I don't plan on going all out with rgb
I definitely like the crispness of a white build. Looks futuristic as fuck to me.
Got enough fans? Lol
nah i could use more
shits cheap
you should paint all your shit in that vanta black stuff
then you will really be anti rgb
duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude
i kinda wanna paint the case now
world first invisible PC
ltt have already done it
although they killed the pc cuz they tried to paint the mobo and did it wrong
even as an rgb man tho i can say it looked pretty dope
BTW isnt the AIO tubing supposed to go at the top and not the bottom ?
How long can the stock cooler last?
on nyphons pc
the pump cant be the highest point in the loop
i probably would flip the rad if i was nyphon
for all intents and purposes, forever
Yeah I'm not gonna play any big games on my pc yet with that. I thought that it'd run louder but achieve the same results.
what matters is the highest point NOT being cooling plate
tf
Oh I can manually change the power can't I?
that looks weird
dont worry about it
I didn't realise that the wraith cooler wasn't the best. I wasn't expecting much from it but thought it'd be alright.
Yeah I'm not gonna stress out about it.
the cpu knows more about its self than you ever will,
so just let it do its thing and it will be fine
with this orientation the highest point would likely have a lot of gurgling
The 5600x is smarter than me.
I've completely had it with people posting Steve's video about AIO mounting when its clear they didn't even WATCH his video... STOP IT!

I shouldn't need any thermal paste because it comes with it, right?
That's actually kinda cool.
Wait so the fans themselves with the packaging come with the paste?
Applied or in a little capsule?
depends on the cooler
iirc my cooler came with both
some already applied and a little baggie of spare paste
That's actually kinda cool.
@supple bane @proud trellis basically the highest point shouldnt be plate/pump, air will get trapped there. either end of the rad should be the highest point, but if you have tubes as the highest point the tubes will have air gaps and make gurgling noises
you dont have to tell me :P
i know, but the pump IS the highest point for your build
they do, but the paste is pretty shit
well actually i guess it depends where the pump is in that block, its kinda big
manual paste is always better over any preapplied kind
on a 5600x it doesnt matter
the tubes go higher then both my pump and rad, should move them down a little
if its not gurgling then its fine
mine gurgled a bit a while back under load, never bothered fixing it
If I had a clear vision. All white pc with light purple sticks and gpu.
as long as you dont hear any sloshing its fine
wait i think ive already pulled them down as far as i can anyway
my pc is dead silent, literally the only thing i hear is my psu fan
tf
see you probs have yours so quiet because of the 12 fans or however many you have
todays episode is sponsored by seasonic
you could get one of those fan'less fellas
i think my psu is by superflower (its an evga)
and nah, i can really only hear my psu when gaming, which i normally have sound on and thats always louder than the psu
my pc would be fairly quiet if it wasnt for my terrible gpu cooler
100% fan speed whilst gaming be like
is it bad that my PSU fan rattles like once every day when playing a game ?
cant you change cooler for a GPU or is not that simple lol ?
you can, not really, sort of, no?
you used to be able to for sure
but its not a thing anymore really, other than custom watercooling
oh
i dont know of any third party gpu coolers at least
i think it was ltt i watched and they full on just gave this GPU a whole new cooler but it was a few years old i think, not sure if it even was 100% ltt who did it
ltt have strapped an nhd 15 as seen above to a gpu
but that is also a pain, and risky
i dont care for noctua... im an arctic fanboy
wow
Honestly, no also would make the PC as small as possible.

ehh, when i can get 99% of the performance of noctua fans as long as i skip some 100 rpm range for 1/3 the price...
fair
even if i wanted to spend stupid money on fans, i would get phanteks t30
ngl i would try to get RGB fans
hehe
bit boring just having a blank box on your desk
youre talking to a brick wall
lmao
the logical brick wall
no brick wall is logical
What is your fan nyphon?
arctic p12/p14 (the number just indicates the size, 120mm and 140mm)
says the brick mouse user
Oh! I mean your cpu fan. But I'll look at those!
hereeeee we go again
nyphon if i ever see you later in life i will make you hold a G502
ahh, arctic liquid freezer II 240mm
Hold the g502 you heretic!
ive owned a g502 multiple times
How's the arctic freezer 34?
its a good cooler
its decent, beat by id cooling for the price
the duo version tho preferably
unless you get the arctic esports duo
Oh yeah the duo.
How is that?
its not too far from an nhd 15 actually
duo basically best for its price
80 dollars being almost half of the nh12 us that's amazing.
It's not a super thick fan is it? Fitting doesn't sound too much of a pain.
Oh that's a big boy.
cheapest to most expensive and best for that "price range"
id cooling (idk the model) > arctic esports duo > scythe fuma 2 > noctua nhd > arctic liquid freezer II (280m being best bang for buck).
Yeah liquid is a no go for me. I love seeing people replace their front fans with it for some reason.
you got a 5600x yea?
Yes.
esport duo or fuma 2 is what i would get, granted even the id cooling would be good enough
tbh.... the stock cooler is enough
65w is literally nothing
my 2600 (same power draw) was fine on the stock cooler
yea, getting a cpu cooler would just be for better temps and quieter, though i dont recall if stock cooler for 5600x gets loud
Ye. Though I plan on putting it on heavier load so I want to get as much usage as I can out of it.
is it the wraith stealth or spire you have?
Wraith.
Oh.
Stealth.
I ordered the one with the wraith stealth, I didn't read what you said correctly.
pretty sure the clock speeds on stock cpu cooler gets dialed down a tiny bit
I'm not super stressed do note. I'm just running through options.
if it was a spire or max i would have just said leave it
they 100% would have handled a 5600x
you dont NEED an aftermarket cooler, but it would have some benefits
It would help yeah.
When Im done paying off the mobo and that when everything's together, I'm gonna look at maybe adding a cpu fan if I need it.
easy to change cpu coolers
I'm just concerned that if I load it too hard it'll kill its life span... or is that dumb to worry about?
no
still no
Ok.
youll learn quickly that there is no chance of damage, i, everyone, is the same with their first pc
these aren't intel processors
your cpu will throttle itself if thermals are bad
stock coolers are absolutely fine on anything up to a 5800x
unless you intend on unlocking power limits.. which dont
Yeah nah I'm not looking at that.
I always hear that people are afraid to overclock their graphics card because they are afraid to hurt it... so in an effort to encourage tinkering with your system I show you how hard it really is to hurt your video card!
Learn more about the NEON LED Strips from Phanteks at http://www.phanteks.com/Neon.html and available at https://amzn.to/2B...
watch this if you get chance
this is a gpu but the exact same applies
Yeah I'll do so later. Thanks very much.
I'm finally at the end I'm so very glad I can get this done and over with.
Thanks for the help for all of this.
speak of the devil @storm osprey ltt posted this
AMD FSR 2.0 update is based on temporal upscaling, which is considered a major upgrade to the spacial upscaling of current FSR 1.0, much better image quality
Still doesn't require AI
thats a very good combination
is 110 FPS on lowest graphics normal for that rig?
GPU: MSI RTX 3070 SUPRIM
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
RAM: 32 GB
Storage: Samsung EVO SSD
PSU: 850W
What Resolution?
1920x1080
yeah that seems low I would think around 120 at medium settings. Do you have ray tracing turned on?
ray tracing might hit the fps really hard.
nope
fps limit turned on?
have you tried turning the settings up to medium and see what happens?
Welcome on 2042 lmao
?
I mounted my Geforce Rtx 3060TI but it’s hanging a bit, isn’t bad right?
wdym hanging
Threadripper 5995WX scores 110K in Passmark, first single CPU to ever break 100K
The second best CPU scores 88K
Which is a Zen 3 Epyc 64-core CPU
gpu sag is quite normal if its really extreme/bothers you you can get something to support it
anyone ever have an issue where you whole pc freezes in the middle of a game?
what was your fix?
im on page 3 of troubleshooting on google
Would you be able to tell me how you fixed it for your pc?
you mean drivers?
No
cool thanks for the help
if its slighly drooping its fine if theres a big heavy cooler on it
just check once in a while to be sure
if it gets worst just put smth underneath
One day I will bring a proposal to EA that could yield them LOTS of $$$ and would be of much interest to BF gamers who like to compete with an opportunity to make $$$ themselves. Could be something to help the franchise as well since things have been grim lately. We'll see how it plays out. :)
Technology Trashday!
Legos.
Keycaps😂trash✌️
I need those keycaps!
do you have WASD and Ctrl? :D
Prob about 15 sets of WASD and Ctrl in there. lol
can I have one of each?
just need to know the dimensions.
perhaps you could send me some pictures of them in DMs.
no, no, no
okay. :(
2019
Are automatic and semi-automatic shotguns still used in the military?
yes
AMD becomes TSMC's second largest client with revenue share over 10% at the foundry as the switch from 7nm to 5nm is underway
Sounds like they are gonna pump out a lot of Zen 4 and RDNA3
Finally, cheaper prices for Ryzen 5000
I hope they continue to use 7nm for a while for cheaper products, 6nm and 5nm are gonna be used for a long time
Nvidia and AMD gonna have to resort to using 4nm instead of 3nm in 2024
4nm is an enhancement to 5nm
Ah ok thanks for telling me
In the year 3000, would these following weapons still be used in the military: bolt action sniper rifle, pump action shotgun, and revolving grenade launcher?
Ah ok 👌
xmp enabled?
arctic freezer duo is awesome
It handled a 10700k 5ghz all core consuming 200+W in Cinebench R23 at mid 80C
highly highly recommend. They even have a combo on amazon with the intel LGA1700 standoff
Also my friend is building his PC with a 12700k and I got him a 3080 below msrp
build is gonna be insane
Is there anyone that knows how to get rid of the tabsearch.net virus ?
120c?!
asrock being asrock lol
Hey, every time i try to start a game in BFT V is just sut down, plz help
does it go black screen or just disappear?
if it's black screen it's most likely a driver issue...either up-date or if you recently up-dated drivers resort back to older ones...if it just disappears it's likely a registry path corruption which is difficult to resolve unless you re-direct the path or a reinstall of windows
Why the fuck is a 65W processor stressing these boards out
Intel being Intel
Oh locked i7-12700 can peak up to 190 watts

MSI is 100% the way to go for B660 motherboards, all of them will let the i7-12700 boost to max power limit
12900 as well
Yep
Not surprised that Gigabyte is ass
less than asrock
Is it worth it upgrading from i5 10400f to i7 11700kf??
for how much
For like 350$
x86 going for higher power targets is just making ARM look better imo
Nah
Save money for 12th gen
Jayztwocents is lol. He trying to run 6000 cl36 4*16 and wonder why it won't post at xmp🤣
Then calls out intel. 🤣 the dimm is rated at 2 not 4. Plus my friend 5600X cant even run 4*16 3600cl16 and I have to manually downclock it to 3600 CL18 and jayztwocents complain about intel ddr5🤣
Glad hardware unbox and buildzoid called him out
Quick question for anyone who uses GeForce game ready drivers: When they update the new version does is delete the previous update? Or does it keep on taking more memory?
definitely not lol, upgrade to a 12600/700k if you're wanting to get new parts
GRD updates do not "delete" the previous updates, rather they merge changes in
What about when the graphic card doesn’t display every now and then on the laptop? (Not got pic perms so can’t show)
has nothing to do with updates
hardware fault somewhere
no sorry, I have them turned off for this server
Windows 11
you need to run DDU to completely remove the drivers then install the new nvidia drivers. guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Another good reason to not use Windows 11
Intrusive garbage
im gonna stay with windows 10 for as long as i can
tbh
and also if i install win11 i gotta turn on secure boot which is gonna stop me from dual booting to linux
XFX got busted selling used mining GPUs as new products.
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/chinese-customs-seize-5840-illegally-mislabeled-xfx-gpus
Spectre-v2 gonna kill CPU performance by up to 35% in some cases.
XFX China has always done skeptical stuff tbh
that's true, I almost bought an XFX 680i board in like 06, but waited a while and ended up with an EVGA 780i instead. I don't think I've ever owned anything from them that I can think of.
Best XFX GPUs were R9 200/300 and RX 400 series, went downhill with RX 500 series
They made some decent PSUs too
Their name sounds kool though.
Anyone want free RTX 3090. Nvidia giving away free signed GPUs https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/nvidia-gtc-free-signed-rtx-3090/
AMD opens up Ryzen 5000 desktop CPU support on 1st gen X370, B350 & A320 motherboards

On Xbox One console is more worse now unplayable
what
No nvidia driver for like a month. Wonder if the hack is to blame.
nah
the hack is bad for pretty old GPU's, and well, any nvidia user in general
but it wont affect the cadence for releases
maybe it wont be total trash for a change
Considering their certificates got hacked and they might have to make extra sure their source code wasn't changed before release I wouldn't be so sure about that.
the certificates which were leaked were from 2015, they are not signed valid drivers that are used in the release candidate today
which is why it's a problem for older GPUs, the hack affects nothing about how Nvidia conducts updates
it's just a massive internal security violation to have all this information in one area
Nvidia only release WQL candidates when a new game is launching and besides elden ring there has no been major title which has launched that requires a driver revision
I read that the 2 certificates were expired ones from 2011 to 2014 and 2015 to 2018 but since Windows accepts expired certificates it is still an issue. I imagine Windows might block the certificates but that requires people to update their Windows so they will still be used to sneak a bunch of malware onto computers.
it isn't a problem, it's only a problem for those who install drivers from third party sources
and only would it ever become a problem
The certificates can be used by all kinds of third party downloaded software to sneak past Windows security.
Besides, don't underestimate the amount of people installing things willy nilly.
AMD RSR is a driver based variant of FSR that is supposed to work with thousands of games when it comes available tomorrow
work with thousands of games
it actually works with any game
RSR is applied at the tail end of the render pipeline meaning it is entirely game agnostic
yeah its impossible to upscale borderless inputs, the hook has to inject into the exe
Will RSR have FSR 2.0 features
AFAIK FSR 2.0 is a bit different in design but is still supported by all vendors
3D stacked chips could probably crack really easily from thermal expansion

AMD could do so much better than Apple if they made a big APU
M1 Max or Ultra are not that impressive when you see that they are on a much denser node than the competition
Also despite using a denser node, their chips are still much larger than competition
M1 Max is 425mm^2, the Ultra is 2x that size
yeah
intel cpus and gpus will be soon as well
tiled gpus
they already have some
Intel iGPUs will be able to boost performance of discrete Arc GPUs too
big boi
im getting one for free

Intel is probably gonna beat RTX 4090 with their 2nd generation lol
Arc GPUs are way less profitable than Alder-Lake CPUs
12900K is only 160mm^2 die space whereas top end Arc A700 is almost 400mm^2
Also factor in the costs of all GPU components like VRAM, power delivery, cooler, etc.
Usually mid-range Intel CPUs share same dies as high-end
12600K, 12700K, 12900K are same silicon so they all have the same manufacturing cost, 12400 and below have a smaller cheaper die
higher end ones are good profit
5800X3D with its 3D die probably costs way more to make than a 5800X
50% more probably
The 12nm I/O die is dirt cheap but the 7nm CCD having to be thinned down to only like 10% of its original thickness, then 6nm cache chip on top of the CCD that costs just as much
Is there a break action double barrel shotgun shooting 8 rounds?
Maybe if you pack-a-punch one
Hmm ok
If there had been a break action double barrel shotguns shooting more than 8 rounds, could it have been useful in the military?
did you find out?
has anyone tried running 2042 with proton/linux
and more importantly does the anti cheat work
so you can actually play
it does not
Break action shotguns are single capacity. You manually load each round, although most will have auto ejection when breaking it open, but still manual loading each round. At least every one I own, or have ever owned.
Or did you mean Pump Action? If so then the problem is the magazine tube will longer then the barrel and cause issues.
thanks!
Sounds like latency issue to me. But IDK.
Who likes keyboard cables?
is mx330 capable of running a game which requires gtx 960?
which is the minimum requirement
Ah ok thanks for the informations
RTX 3090 Ti listed early for $3500
Nope, why?
it's not possible to change access denied on task manager, in order to do so you need to reassign object ownership to your account to bypass SYSTEM restrictions
the problem right now for games loading assets is they are built around hard drive level run-time streaming, meaning SSDs aren't being utilised to anywhere of their maximum throughput for asynchronous streaming, DS fixes this problem
assets will be able to be loaded near instantaneously, similar to how the next gen consoles currently use kraken
hard drives are a bygone era anyways and the fact modern games are still built around them is a joke
To me, a developer that can make a game load very fast on an old HDD or even an SD card is nothing short of pure talent
Witcher 3 load times on HDD are impressive
I hope HDD or SATA SSDs don't become useless for gaming anytime soon
Yeah it was an old issue when I tried to fix low FPS on Star Citizen. Just found it weird that I wasn't able to change it considering how I could change it before.
games assign their own priority for scheduling, tampering with it will break some things, but if you really want to process lasso can do it for you
HDDs will finally not work with direct storage
SATA SSDs will be fine
well "fine", until their bandwidth becomes a problem and NVMes only work
@pale quartz i tried process lasso, that doesnt work either. I have super low FPS on 2042 so i wanted to change priority level.
seems vram is hardly a concern at 4k
Well that's because 3070 has higher memory bandwidth too
3070 is comparable to 6900XT in memory bandwidth lol

cool story
This cable improved my BF gameplay!
Can anyone recommend a decent head set for roughly $50?
headset as in the mic and the headphones together ? or just headphones ?
Do you need a headset with a mic?
in america, my friend bought a hyperX headset and usb condensor mic for 60 dollars and its super good
Is it possible to record my screen with OBS without having a GPU? I removed my gpu from my pc but I still want to record some non-videogames like my drawing process and stuff but it says I dont have the required hardware to record (I have an i5 8400)
if not, is there any other software taht would allow me to?
No.
Do you have a sound card? If you have a sound card the best cheap headset (1/8") (3.5MM) jack (Not USB) is the Sound Blaster Blaze. Sounds great but won't sound good on cheap onboard audio.
Oh and are like $25 - $30
Yes you can for sure. I do this with old hardware like E5300, i7-920, i5-3470s, etc.. no issue. i5-8400 should not be an issue.
I have even recorded nintendo games input with cheap usb capture card to a PC with no PCIe slot using i5-3470s
what software do you use?
as the encoder
give it a try it won't hurt to test anyway as OBS is a free open source software which can be supported through Patreon
if its vesa you can
looks to be yes, but just check that both are vesa certified are compatible
basically its the 4 hole pattern that needs to match,
i have it and it has a vesa mount dw
its a good monitor too
decent colors
i have the 1080p 27 inch one and tbh imo 1080p isnt too bad on 27 inch
yeah thats a good idea
lol
i use the monirotr at 40% brightness and it still has decent colors
i have an unknown error code 1 on bf 4 can anyone help?
sounds like a loose audio jack
or it's not grounded properly
loose connector cables, it's vibrating against the motherboard
Lol
Im lagging alot on bf2042 and i got the game today. im maining it on 20 to 30 fps and i wanna go to 60 fps or above. please help

2042 seems to be more CPU intensive than GPU intensive, so really it’s going to be hard to get double the performance. You could try lowering all the settings to the minimum and see if it helps
ive done that. didnt help.
Unless you start replacing parts, most of your performance will be in the low end of you don’t notice any significant change in lowering your settings
Is there anything i can do except replacing parts i cant afford that
If you can’t afford that I’d start taking off other settings
Motion blur
yes motion blur is at 0
Then I’d probably search some forums that ask how you can raise performance
Even a quick google search
ive done that some of them seem sketchy.
Well
Sure
did you see
2042 is a bit stressful on the i5-8400, 6 cores but it lacks hyperthreading so only 6 threads instead of 12
That CPU is even limiting in BFV
Also 8GB ram isn't enough
And I'm gonna take a guess that it's single channel too
oh
weak CPU and weak GPU with minimal RAM, nothing you can do
Both Battlefield 2042 and V are just too intensive on CPU and RAM
If you have just 1 stick of 8GB RAM then you need to get another 8GB stick with similar specifications
RAM upgrade is really the only thing you should try
Ok got a qucik performance question, Are there optomizers you can download for A game like bf4 or bf1, trying to run it on a laptop, and It runs ok If you have the graphics down so far you litirly can't play it
I saw something about graphics mods that made bf5 look cartoony and all, but the people were using them to increace invisability, so kinda cheating
but It made me wonder If they made things like that to increace performance,
nope
ok thanks
did they fix frame rate yet
Would ask for performance tips, but I have watched so many vids Its hardly worth it
Its the amount of players. If i play 64 players, its a world of difference compared to 128 players in terms of frames.
add 8 gigs of ram
also, u cant download anthing or do anything thats gonna magically improve your performance except changing parts
optimizers on the internet are a load of bullshit
your cpu ain't good enouph and your gpu will barely run the game (i used to have a 1650 super which is slightly more powerful and it barely ran the game at 60fps)
dont play 2042
its shit anyways
play like bf5 or bf1 if you want a relatively recent bf game tbh
your pc aint that bad but 2042 is just a uniquely demanding game
Probably best to play something least resource intensive for a bit until better parts can be found.
yeah
Am5 is coming up but fuck buying ddr5.
overpriced and not exactly future-proof for now anyways
I fear it's gonna be like that for a while.
But yeah as the technologies develop after this gen I feel people are gonna make the big upgrade then.
DDR5 is around $9-10 per GB atm depending on speeds but it could be $6-7/GB by end of year
Is the 12600k with a 3080 a good combo for gaming.
ofc lol
Try lowering the resolution to like 720p or something
Try lower resolution
My kid plays at 1280x1024 with a 9600k/1050TI/16GB 2666 on most of his games and gets good enough frame rate. Have not tested 2042 though.. But just a suggestion to try out.
I may try out a 1650 super on a X58/920 just to see what it's like..
.
Lowering the resolution and might be able to raise the graphics a bit, might be necessary even. I would do some testing
Your kid needs a upgrade.
Nah, won't be supporting the current state of the tech economy
Oh, Well get used to the prices..they are here to stay.
Gpu prices are starting to lower but yeah things aren't looking so hot now.
Not even gpu, the demand for computers has increased dramatically.
Yep. I wasn't going to upgrade, and I waited for over a year and finally said screw it. If ya got it, spend it. You can't take it with you when you die. lol
Not me been doing for so many years, there really is no need to upgrade if everything is working fine.
Same here. I have upgraded EVERY generation cpu/gpu since my 3930k/GTX 580 Ultra Classified Days...this setup will be good for another 6 months at least (12600k/3080)
6-8 years? Thats crazy. With this generation I am going to keep it for a while. Might have to upgrade my GPU one more time though, once I get my 49" UW.
I usually get a pretty futureproof platform and upgrade some parts, like GPU if necessary, I recently upgraded my CPU to a 6950X with 20 threads and nothing is gimping it. getting over 100 FPS in 2042. I was wanting to get Intel's next HEDT if there is one. But with the condition of t he market I may just keep it longer. So I really can't say my PC is 7 or 8 years old at this point as I have some upgrades over those years. like a 2080 in Jan 2019, and since then some NVMe's, and recently the 6950X but even the CPU is from 2016, but it does not struggle in anything, neither did the 5930k, but I wanted the extra cores.
I think lately my hobby has been seeing how long I can keep my current PC without building a new one.
I probably will upgrading Guitar equipment next, and get an Axe-FX III MKII, or something which is basically a computer as well.
Good moves!
Respect.
What movies you watching
I didn't even know there was a 6950x
It's pretty old
does nothing ive tried itl.
$8800 for new Epyc 7773X, $900 more than previous Epyc 7763

Logitech Wireless is the king!
why?
Because it is wireless😀 2.4Ghz. Lightspeed. Faster than light!
is that the G915?
Yes. Along with G703/G Pro X Wireless.
I have the same keyboard only wired G815, I threw my 703 in the trash left click was not working half the time. Keyboard is great
Weird 703 issue. Had mine since initial release...zero issues ever.
yeah was probably a defect, after throwing away I Iooked in my best buy account and had an extended warranty I purchased for 2 years. I was pissed at myself
Corsair Dark Void is what I have now, I like it
I had the G700s before that, it was the best. I wore it out over several years
How is the dark void? I have a problem where I like to match my peripherials...same brand
I used to be like that, but now just whatever works, I've no problems with it. over a year or so. Logitech was always my go to for mice for like 20 years. But prices are getting outrageous.
I even tried out the G502 I hated it, and returned it.
If you have a physical store nearby, try out a few
G502 too narrow
Especially for me with frying pan hands
My hands even make the Xbox Duke controller look small
Nvidia Hopper H100 GPU is on TSMC's 4nm process using HBM3, still slower than the AMD Mi250X based on TSMC 6nm and older HBM2e
Nvidia on a much denser node but still loses in double precision, but they still lead in AI which is their strongest market
Any tips to get 2042 to run better than 45fps on my msi laptop with a 10th gen i7 and mobile 3060?
laptops are not desktop equivalents in terms of hardware, that 10th gen and mobile 3060 is effectively a 2060, and a 9th gen processor, its not equipped to handle 2042 well
Anyone know how i can get more fps than 20 to 30?

you asked this already
ik
..
they did, quite a lot
can u ping me in the answers plz

20-42fps
no we arent going to ping you in answers
its not our responsibility for you to check things lol
ok.. sorry for asking
He has a 1060
could just ask for pings in your original question, not a big deal either way
I guess to be a regular chatter in this channel you either have to massively over compensate with flex posts about all your tech, or be a massive twat 90% of the time
I wonder also do you reach a level and stay there, or is there some activity required to keep that role?
I was thinking that a mod would actually promote manually or something, otherwise like Bmac said just a mass posting
!!regular
The Regular role is earned by users automatically who are active in chat and follow the server rules. With this role you can post/embed images, use some bot commands, and change what color you appear in chat.
What is the criteria to reach that role? if you don't mind me asking.
Sorry Nyphon I quoted the bot
ive not been told specifics, i think the point is to be vague so people dont try to spam/abuse the system to get/keep the role
it just sucks when long time regulars lose the role because they dont chat as much anymore, especially with how toxic this community is with 2042
Ohh so you do have to meet certain criteria to hold the role then?
iirc yea, like have X amount of messages in Y amount of time to keep the role
We do not disclose the exact criteria to earn the role. Mass posting however will not work. Just chat on a regular basis and you'll earn it no problem. We're also looking into adjusting the amount of points to earn it (points are entirely internal, so no you can't view it)
thanks
it can run games from 2020 and before quite well, but it isnt future proof at all
any games u wanna run that came out in this year will run very poorly
it could on lower settings ig
it wouldnt be a slideshow thats for sure
but it isnt future proof at all
BF3 and BF4 at ultra...BFV at high...BF 2042 you fall short
lower setting might bottleneck your processor...putting too my work on it
let your 1060 carry the load
who wants to play 2042 anyways

i have a whopping 5 hours playing it...most of that time was fucking with my settings
no like SEB said games before 2020 will run like silk on your machine
oh you mean 2042?...yeah it's terrible
and a sudden departure from the classic BF interface
i get 35 frames no matter how I set it
i have a machine similar to your specs
they changes the interface to this specialist crap...with robo dogs and other apex type gamestyle
The internet is a mob mentality. This discord will most likely convince you its good, everywhere else will try to convince you its bad. My suggestion? Buy EA Play and test it out yourself.
the negative feedback isnt hype at all like the bogus BFV negative talk
i still cant understand why BFV was so down rapped
First impressions matter, and BFV's first impression really broke the game imho. DICE's actions after that didn't help either
exactly every BF game since bf42 had the same interface...this one was totally removed from the francise
well its still going strong
its just a fun game not as complex as BF4 which imo is the crown of dices creation
hell no it aint dead...it had and still has a higher player count than any other BF game
still is brother
your machine runs it on high
It's mostly because of Asians
dig this Polk....BF4 was selling for $10 now it's back to $40
it's that popular
yeah premium was selling for like $9.99 for the better part of a year
terrible terrible map design
specialist cannot work in a game like bf
gunplay is very off
graphics are shit
runs terribly
i hope the hell EA learned something
the map design was the worst part for me
they should have been satisfied with the 7 million player base
they were shooting for a game for the masses...alienating their loyal fan base
bf players would have gladly accepted some sort of bf4 2.0 with just new maps, updated graphics and gunplay but still the same vibe/core gameplay
it broke my heart...i thought after 20 years of BF games they would make a masterpiece and with 128 player count too...like they seemed to be upping the game...but nooooo
BF peaked at BF1 imho, at least marketing wise. It almost became mainstream a la COD with even non-gamers talking about it.
personally I'll take BFV over BF1
idk
I like both for different reasons
bf1 for the vibe and atmosphere and bf5 because the guns feel great
so for me it's BF3/BF4/and BFV...and Ive been playing BF games from day one hour one
bf3 and bf4 are sick
crazy crazy yepper
each bf game was good in its own way before 2042
2042 is worse than a cod game Im ngl
pearl market and bazaar
Id play black ops 4 over 2042
you said it brother
I had 1h 30 just so I could refund with a lot of it fixing my settings or running around in them boring empty maps
bf2042 will sit with BFhardline in the cloud
i mean ill never reinstall them both
and also ended up worse
agree
I bought doom eternal after refunding 2042
much better purchase
it would be a shitshow tbh
too many players for the maps
indeed if they woulda re-coded bf4 for 128 players and expanded in size the original maps with maybe 8 new maps I'd of paid $60 for that
also extreme fps issues
thats what we wanted for 2042 tbh
trailer 2042 looked sick
you know when they fuckin first mentioned specialists...my stomach ached
Everyone watched a youtube video about 2042, and got woke and triggered
or maybe... we played the game and disliked it
I was actually excited because the specialist system in Modern Warfare was great and I thought they were just gonna copy that
ye but what works in modern warfare doesnt work for battlefield
YESSSS
fax
right thats the rub...they copied someone elses game and not led with a proven formula
Yeah in hindsight, Classes were already battlefield's 'specialist'
the problem is that specialists made teamwork useless too
ha yeah you'da thought they would have spent the time to make faction specific specialist features
now its boris and his obnoxious voice everywhere
hahaha
Also, and ironically, the specialist system reduced the freedom for players. Remember back then when engineers could both be anti-tank soldiers AND repairmen? In 2042 you can only be one of the two.
indeed
again I reiterate EA I hope you learned something...dont alienate your loyal player base
yeah I have read from a supposed press release that all new BF games will originate from Portal
they trully made a bad game in every sense of the word
its a pretty difficult accomplishment
its easy to make a boring game but a truly shitty game... wow
and to think BF42 was the first PC game that made a profit for EA all their monies came from sports console games
you'd think that they would be satisfied with 5-10 million sales
for most BF games
whats funny is they thought we'd enjoy it
actually to be an ass..ill just say i dont think they gave a damn about us I think they thought we'd just go along with it
and they probably on the coattail of their Apex success thought they'd get those kiddies to come along
well ive been a loyal fan for 20 years, Ill stick around with them and play the 3 BF games I enjoy until they come to their senses...im not moving over to CoD anytime soon
COD is long gone
Honestly the more I play the more I find wrong
CoD MW (2019) was actually good. Cold War was less but decent enough, Vanguard is a joke. MW2 comes this year probably, since its Infinity ward's turn again. Could be the finisher of 2042 if they dont get things done on time
Bf2042 is pretty okay right now. Hits are waay better now, performance got better, there is bit more destruction now with more to come. Still needs fine tuning here and there, for a smoother experience. The roles are also better used, the operators are much more enjoyed: people revive lot more, throw more ammo, throw other useful things like med box. Only improvent i can think of is when you ask for supplies, the doc gets a quick button like bf5 to throw a med pack quick and see a icon above your head that you are in need.
Other improvement that should fix the game would be: nerf the amount of vehicles in game at same time + respawn of vehicles. Make the amount of rockets vs infantry LOT less so they cant spray the area with lots of rockets. Add huge cooldown to anti rocket measure.
fam
maps are shit
operators are shit
gameplay is shit
theres no saving it if the base game is bad
and there are no players
Operators are fine if the roles are used. Maps should be more filled and have more tactical gameplay to defend/advance more tactical instead of d-day style. Gameplay needs to be more smooth.
But think of ffxiv and no man sky
Both shit games at launch, fixed, ffxiv is now number 2 mmo
It could be fixed, if they dont give up like bf5. No russia added was a slap in the face in bf5
NO AIMBOTS. exactly. GGclose

have you done this ice?

i feel like he has
my pc is prebuilt so i havent done anything
ive done that but the ssd didn't get bent like that
https://kotaku.com/microsoft-ubisoft-nvidia-hack-hackers-hacked-lapsus-te-1848694913 It's Kotaku, so take it with a grain of salt, but wow. That's a pretty big problem for some industry heavy-weights.
Hey big question.
Are Drivers from the main NVIDIA website safe?
Unknown, but considering they're reviewed prior to publishing, probably.
LOL @ that NVMe.
Highly doubt that current and future Nvidia drivers are at risk
I think everything is at risk always.
True anything connected to the internet is at some kind of risk
So uh. Is it normal for computers nowadays to not be able to connect wirelessly as soon as they're made?
Do you have to download a driver?
Do you mean you have a PC with WI-FI, and doesn't work?
@toxic wigeon does your motherboard have built-in Wi-Fi?
Yup I remember when Intel was going to make a GPU like 10-12 years ago, and Nvidia Threatened to start make CPUs, they did in fact make chipset boards, looks like they are making CPUs now. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-unveils-144-core-grace-cpu-superchip-claims-arm-chip-15x-faster-than-amds-epyc-rome
144 cores to beat a 128-core setup from 3 years ago
Power consumption not too far off either lol
That impressive for a 1st CPU
B550 A pro?
I better not have fucked that up.
No wifi on that board
Oh no.
I don't see wi-fi, but you can add it with an M.2
I'm looking
Or get a PCIe slot wifi card
Some have it, but on boards people like to have options, not forced costs
Like 80% of all motherboards in DIY market don't have Wi-Fi built-in
PC gamers are typically expected to use ethernet lol
easy and cheap to add it, or even USB which I would not use
Yep, what KrisPea said ^
I had a good USB wifi adapter before but many of them are trash
I've got some weird ASUS Antenna I could use as an alternative lol.
it's hard to find a good one, and USB isnt ideal
AMD has apparantly figured out how to eliminate ghosting entirely on FSR 2.0, which is something even DLSS hasn't been able to fully accomplish yet.
Any good PCIE Express cards?
does anyone know why BF1 runs at 150 fps on ultra in dx11, but swapping to dx12 gets me barely 40 fps on low settings
it just kinda seems wacky
This is a fast boi
Up to 5400 Mbps
AX210 and WiFi-6E
Bluetooth AND Wifi?
Ye
Is FSR 2.0 already released?
It feels like I could remove the PCIE card from my old one and place it in here.
Bluetooth 5.2
