dont go below that though
i mean it does boost fps like a lot even just quality
also depends on the game
(cpu bound or gpu bound)
I just don't notice any difference, probably cause I'm old and need glasses
@humble iris i had 3 75hz monitors in surround. It was good for some games, but takes up some space, even with a monitor arm setup
or you re already above screen hz
i mean higher fps gives you less input lag
but its not that different from 144 to 200 for example
Wish I could post pic, I have 4 1080p/144hz, and 1 4k 40"
imgur link it? @humble iris
Does this pic work? https://p1.builds.gg/builds_pictures/14000/14981/197999/197999_1000.jpg
yes. Thats a superb setup. Love it. So those 3 monitors not in nvidia surround?
not at the moment No.
You have a stream deck?
yeah, It's pretty awesome, I use mostly for hotkey applications, and lots of other functions
it controls OBS quite nicely
Are you a streamer?
not really, it's all just for fun. I stream sometimes.
I was about to say, setup surround and try BF2042. But that would probably be a bad idea due to BF struggling graphics wise on some people setups - even those with one monitor
Yeah, i was think like older games that support it better like L4D2 which is still really fun.
I think BFV did, thats a game i tested in surround, along with elite dangerous
I will have to try it out, I have every Battlefield game back to 1942 I think.
Anyone know, what's the best way to play a game on a secondary monitor without making it the main/focus display?
Is it as simple as just ALT+ENTER and dragging it over, and ALT+ENTER
Ohh wait, can't BF2042 have a setting to choose which
You just open game settings and tell it which monitor @humble iris
I never understood why this game is fun.
Okay, thanks, I'm dumb sometimes.
Getting Old
Probably not as old as you think
Thanks.
I know the feelin bro
I think that old part of me just doesnt realize that shit is so much easier these days
Exactly, I start looking for some weird way of doing something, and it's really just a simple setting. Easier is really harder when your mind is trained the harder way. I still use notepad, and command prompt a lot. when there is probably just a click somewhere.
a budding linux user
the good ol MS dos days
I did a lot of PERL/CGI programming back in the late 90's early 2000's mosly Unix/Linux on Windows, then got into Flash (actionscript) Flashcom etc... everything was HTML4.0/4.01 for so long, HTML5 I know is easier, but for me it's harder. Cause HTML5 replaces all of the above.
It's like trying to forget English to learn Chinese
It's all notepad to me.
cobol for me 😦
And at the moment I setting up a Raid 0 6TB x6 HDDs with L1 Ram Cache, & L2 NVMe Cache. just not sure how I want to configure it. RAID 0/10/01, and If I should disable the HDDs onboard cache, or will it use it.
is that going to be 3 cache levels, or just 2
Oh wow, that's pretty awesome.
oldest and still very relevant.
1959-current
So what OS or system does this run on Linux?
IDENTIFICATION DIVISION.
*> setup the program id
PROGRAM-ID. HELLO.
*> setup the procedure division (like 'main' function)
PROCEDURE DIVISION.
*> print a string
DISPLAY 'WILLKOMMEN'.
*> end our program
STOP RUN.```
Its my nightmare
agnostic software, so you can actually run this as system
I'm glad its phased out
Seriously, if your like command line, then linux would be a great move for you. Granted games that require anticheat will need windows. For the most part i think you'd like linux
I do like Linux
I do have dual boot, but as BF2042 won't play its windows for the moment
Going back to what you said about raid. I don't have raid enabled on my pc. I only have that on the NAS
I'm thinking about that in my future build, if I go full Linux, or dual boot. I already dual Boot Windows on UEFI, Windows boot manager, but not sure how that would work with Linux/Windows UEFI dual boot.
Yeah this PC will be repurposed as a NAS as my old X58 is my NAS/Game server right now.
Dual boot, i use windows manager for the moment. Linux and windows on separate drives.
Yes, same seperate drives are the only way to go in my opinion
I did try gaming on linux. For the most part i found it amazingly better than 5 years ago, when i last tried linux
yeah I have quite a few games that will run on Linux.
which ones, out of sheer curiosity
@lunar dawn oh, i found the drain on my fps. Ray traced ambient occlusion - will have to go back and try it all again!
If i could get 4k at above 60fps i'd be happy as its really only a 60hz monitor.
well here s the settings that you should try anyway:
full screen (not borderless) at max hz supported, all low, enable future frame rendering, put detailed objects (whatever its called) to low, try nvidia reflex in on+boost (made it better for me) and try dlss
try all this with no nis and in native 4k and use only dlss with it and see if its better, for fov i personally use 84 for player and max for vehicle somestimes it can impact fps
also i use ads field of view because its so nice
oh also disable motion blur because its just bad
the filter effect its well preference but i dont like them personally like lens distortion etc and also disable vsync if you dont have severe tearing issues
vsync only adds input lag like a lot
I have reflex on + boost already, but Ray traced ambient occlusion drained about 30-40 fps when i went back to my 1080p 144hz monitor. So figure that turning that off will help with 4k.
also try the other settings i said like enable future frame rendering and turn off motion blur and vsync
and also use fullscreen
I turned off future frame rendering as it claimed it could increase input lag. I will try it again as it seems to be a default setting
it increases fps quite a bit tbh
if you use it with nvidia reflex its doesnt add much input lag
vsync adds way more
I felt playing in 4k was crisper, 1440p mode was better fps wise but after watching the video you provided, i felt its not an option on this game
(vertical sync)
well it has way more pixels
I can't figure out a way to check anymore, to see which games are games Linux Ready
Not to worry, steam seems the best way to play games on linux these days anyway
for sure.
protondb
website
those are the ones support by valve proton
there were some that would scan your games to see, none work anymore.
OMG the Xbox Windows app is so stupid, there is no way to find where a game is installed. All Hidden, and Protected, does not tell you where you installed it or which drive.
Okay so I found a way, it's stupid, but its the only way.
You have to go to "Apps & Features" in Windows. Find the game, click on "Move" and it will tell you what drive it's installed on. And give the option to move to another drive.
You cannot install Xbox App games to custom directories, only different drives. Default is C:\WindowsApps D:\WindowsApps etc...
Nice
they're atleast going to change that sometime soon
except it will not play any game on Ultra you throw at it.
I built a PC just a bit lower then that, 6600K/1050Ti was about $650.00 several years ago.
Yeah it's stupid
2016 when I built it
Okay so actually it was more, but 675.00+ Board/Ram/CPU/GPU/Cooler, already had the other parts so he didn't need them.
2200 for 6-7 year old PC
not to mention USED AF 6 year old PC, not New components old tech
which would make more sense
and 250 for used 24" monitor
only asking double MSRP NEW
Selling my Custom built desktop PC designed specifically for gaming and productivity. All components were tested and put together myself. Works flawlessly and efficiently. Will run any game at Ultra with graphic mods or program you throw at it with no issues. Below is a link to the parts list and combined price of the PC on "PCPartPicker". https...
Heres the post
Yeah it's dumb
If only comments were available
I mean, if I were selling my 3+ year old 2080 XC2 Ultra, I would try for $800.00 cause it has 7 years warranty left
but I wouldn't sell it
that memory running at 2133 though.
it should be at 2666-3200 on 6700k
No Lowballs please

people see their old ass out of production parts at jacked up brand new prices and automatically assume that it's worth 2x more than what they bought it for
lmao of course the parts that are out of production and not sold brand new any more are going to be higher priced than originally
Technology🍎
Got my RAID setup now with L1/L2 Cache. https://www.pcegaming.com/images_blog/RAID0x6-Primo.jpg
6TB super fast...
with xmp perhaps
at 1.35v
most ram kits run at 2400-2133 without xmp sometimes
Alright
teacup in #technology
the best mac is a hackintosh imo
Don't really surprise me. As far as i know single core has been about the same across several generations also series
yeah, alder lake finally breaks the stagnation
On desktop anyway, mobile had Tiger Lake before
Holy, the gigabyte z690 aero g d4 is absolute garbo
I can't even run 3600 CL18 xmp (Samsung bdie I tested it) at 4*8 in gear 1
Meanwhile my overclocking friend hit 4133 in gear 1 on a msi a pro
🤌
Nvidia bought a shit load of TSMC 5nm
i heard some argue about 13 fps too
im dead
ok im gonna overclock my monitor to 1hz (simply need to uninstall graphics drivers)
anyone here familiar with Python?
depends how familiar you ask for
what is your question
need a list about all the functions and commands.
Has anyone setup unbound on pihole? https://www.wundertech.net/use-unbound-to-enhance-the-privacy-of-pi-hole-on-a-raspberry-pi/
Just i'm creating a fresh pihole on a new pi and was going to give it a go
naw i can see the difference between 120 fps and 60
Hi all! I'm working on improving bf2042 performance via hardware tweaks. A rtx2060 in my laptop has enough thermal headroom to raise above 80w, the current limit my laptop seems to be offering me. I'd like the option of 90w ceiling instead of the 80. Higher is technically possible but this laptop only gets so much power and im sure the thermal limit of my heatsink is around there. MSI Afterburner has power limit option greyed out. Is there an option with my current BIOS to get around this? I used IMON offset to get around my CPU's power limit by disguising it's true value. Something similar for GPU I can do? I'd prefer not to have to get a vbios if possible
Basically, I got GREAT performance boost in bf2042 by undervolting my CPU to cool it down and then limiting clockspeeds under its thermal limit. Here's how: My i7-8750h would hit 90*c (which is the thermal limit) before hand and thus slow clock speeds a bunch to lower temps... slashing my bf 2042 fps and making it studder a bit. After undervolting with Throttlestop, the long power limit of 45w limited my cpu clock speeds long term but was like 15 *c cooler. AKA, I was getting a bit better performance but my speeds were still lower than they could be because the laptop capped watts at 45w, even though I could speed it up while remaining under 90c temp. Laptop didnt let me raise power limit via throttlestop or BIOS, so I went into advanced IMON slope and put in "50" with a 31999 offset. Now the computer falsely reads my watts, letting me put in "24", which I believe is actually around 48watts. Perfect. Now I get faster CPU speeds that still remain under 90c while gaming! Putting in my fake "25" in power limits, 50 in actuality, makes it hit 90c again so I stuck with 24/48w.
Because of BF2042's cpu demand, this undervolt cooled things down enough that I could pump up the power going into the cpu to speed up clock speeds higher than usual while remaining under thermal throttling limit. Boom. FPS 15+ higher at 1440p. Happy :). But now I've entered the rabbit hole... and I see that my FPS at high and ultra can actually be raised more with more GPU tuning! I overclocked it, boom. +5-8fps on TOP of the CPU's fps change. Fantastic. But that GPU is also super cool.... and can handle more heat with ease. But, same deal.... laptop is not allowing me to adjust watts to GPU. It's capped at 80watts. Just like my CPU success, I want to get better performance with more GPU power to allow me to farther attempt to improve speeds. Atm, certain overclocks fail/unstable and higher watts should be the fix. So... your thoughts?
I think your limitation is that its a laptop, though thats interesting when you undervolted it raised the fps
Have you checked how many cores does 2042 utilize
Cpu cores
throw the laptop in the dumpster and buy a desktop
Hahah nah I move around too much and use performance that would be wayyyy more expensive if I combo'ed a good laptop with a good desktop, vs just a high quality laptop. Besides, stable 60fps ultra bf2042 at 1440p ain't bad. Just like a console
I have not! & yeah you are right in one respect. The laptop is the limitation. But currently the limitation is actually power. Originally, it was heat. My cpu would raise to 90c, which would throttle itself as a heat protection and bf2042 performance suffered. Undervolting fixed that throttle by cooling it 10-15c. CPU speeds rose a bit, but then stopped around 3,500Mhz at 45w of power. When I worked around that 45w limit on my laptop via BIOS hidden advanced menu IMON value slope of 50 to get my computer to know the wrong watts (after all, the CPU protection of heat is still there so my cpu isnt at any extra threat of harm) I could raise to 48w's. This pumped CPU speeds to 3,700Mhz-3,800Mhz while capping at 87c, averaging 85c. My limit is once again heat, but since I can't undervolt any more and I've already repasted, I just cant cool the cpu anymore. It's properly optimized :). So now I want to up the watts on GPU, who's got no heat issue atm and is limited by power. 80w's when the mobile chips in many devices are set to 90, and its limit is like 100 or 110. I cant supply that much power to it, 100 is nuts and Im pretty sure no laptop has a cooling system which has allowed a company to make it 100w in a rtx2060, but I can supply 90w. The computer just currently doesnt let me. Im looking for something like the IMON slope value that worked with cpu, but with gpu instead
I wouldnt go too far with the power
Theres always a risk of blowing up the power brick
Or battery
Since it's a laptop not fully designed for tuning or overclocking
It's all only when plugged in, as the MSI settings roll back power and speeds automatically when disconnected from charger. Unplugged I get like 14fps in bf2042 at low settings on 1440p monitor lol. Plugged in, 60fps cap stable"ish" at ultra settings 1440p monitor w/ DLSS performance. So with the known limits of RTX being 100w or so, that's disregarded because of heat limits. Laptops have rtx 2060's with 80w-90w range. Given that I got 80w limit on my computer, if I want the ceiling to be raised at least 85w ideally 90w, I think my thermal limit is somewhere in that range.... assuming that there's connections that allow that. I dont know how the GPU is connected. I've heard PCIe connections having power limits on what they can handle... I do not know what that means. Given that lack of experience, it is a nervous experience that's been tremendously rewarding educationally and gameplay performance wise. I kinda hope theres a solution to raise watt limit purely so there's one more thing I can learn about in this process lol
I also have an msi laptop gf65 thin
I7 10750h rtx 3060
For me the limit is 90w im pretty sure
And also when you unplug it from the wall your external gpu goes off
Or atleast to a really low clockspeed
Oh cool! That's sweet. & yes I think that's what happens as well. Mine's a GS65 w/ i7-8750h & rtx 2060, 16gb upgraded to 32gb for duel channel (I was shocked at how much faster duel channel made stuff, even though overall ram usage has rarely ever exceeded like 14gb). You've got some sweeter hardware. How do you like it?
Runs anything ive tried so far at smooth framerates
Except 2042
I played the beta and got 120fps
Not great for an fps game
And i regularly play microsoft flight simulator
Runs easily over 50fps which is good for a simulator
Is your screen 1080p? Curious what your cpu temps and speeds look like while playing bf 2042
1080p 144hz, i gave up on 2042 after the beta because i realized even before that that it was going to be a failure
Anyone know any good cheaper less than 600 gaming laptops? I just wanna play rust and scp secret labs and maybe download some mods on minecraft
Play BFV at launch? I wouldn't rule off the game yet- there's been rough beginnings. Add scoreboard, cut post credits voice lines, modify BOLTE transport power like it's gun, etc... and you shape up a real quality game base in my opinion. I wont jump on the hate bandwagon until I get a look at February/March bf2042 state
It was my first beta test of a battlefield, and ive ruled it out already. Fps games have gotten significantly worse in these last few years, i do have tarkov but im not 100% into that yet
Ive just been playing msfs and im loving it
Because im an aviation nerd
In what currently? USD in the United States? $700 yes, $600 no. Perhaps the deal microsoft's surface laptop go is having rn for an i5 and low memory of like 64gb. Used? Check out the Acer Aspire 5 or such. Used laptops exist there. But if you're looking new and gaming, $700 will give Acer Nitro: AN515-57-584Y. Its got a i5 11th gen w/ GTX 1650 graphics card and 8gb of ram. Unfortunately, in the U.S., inflation is high so prices are up and graphics cards continue to be tough to find for about another 6 months at minimum, leading to increased prices on all graphics cards
Betas are exclusively to get data during development. Many game's, perhaps even most, dont do open beta events or limit beta to like a day or so of playing to a finite number of people. Often you have to be invited to play a beta. I'd give it another shot in a month or two when some updates roll out to give it a shot! Aviation's cool though- fly at all irl?
Nah i dont fly irl, would be nice to get a ppl at some point though
I would love to be an airline pilot at some point
Its just that flight schools are 80-120k€
From 0-atpl
And its an industry thats constantly changing
Covid came, no planes flying, fuel prices rise, no planes flying
And you barely make any money at the start of your career
But there are estimates that air transport will rise this and next year to a record high possibly
In most BF games I hit the soft cap of 230-240FPS. I thought with all of the hype of DLSS and Reflex for 2042 I would see higher numbers, but I am generally around 130+fps. (Although I have not launched the game in over a month.)
My temps are usually under 40C.
I play on Ultra settings.
1080p with 360Hz refresh.
What's your CPU and GPU?
5900X/3080ti
Pretty normal
That's what most high end is hitting
In 2042
Urgh
that would look cool with some RGB fans in the front
but in general i dont like NZXT cases
ok but 2042 is dyinf way faster than bfv/bf4/bf1 at launch
it lost 93% of the player base on steam
from 150000 at launch to now 6000 avg per day
wich is lower than bfv and same as bf 1
you would
YAY! they brought back RUSH !!
Anyone else have issue seeing the Origin FPS counter @ 4k 3840x2160 with 2042
i honestly use msi afterburner with riva tuner
so idk
make a build with intel G6900 on z690 with rx 6900xt with 6900 ddr5
Maybe just use ingame fps counter if you dont want to switch to msi ab and rivatuner or geforce experience
yo I had battlefield V in ps4 can I still have my ps4 Battlefield V progress but on my pc?? through ea account?
no
that’s good fps
you can’t fix anything
that’s basically expected for your build
this game just runs so bad on high end hardware
my definition of minimum is being able to run at 60fps at lowest settings
what ram, gbs mt/s and cas latency (you can check in task manager>performance> memory the current MHz and you can check cl latency with cpuz or hwinfo64)
2042 loves fast ram quite a bit
with xmp off i get like 20 less fps
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO PLAY THE FUCKING GAME FOR LONGER THAN 10 SECONDS WITHOUT GPU HANG IVE DONE EVERYTHING
not talking in all caps would probably be the first step
What happens to your game
Start it, runs for about a minute before i can even see menu then i get the GPU hang up
yea bro i paid $80 and havent been able to play for a month forgive me for being a little pissed off 🙂
still a bit inconsiderate to randoms online that you potentially want help from
AMD RAMP for DDR5 memory to succeed A-XMP for DDR4 DDR5 memory to get a performance boost thanks to AMD RAMP. With Intel taking the lead by announcing the first DDR5-compatible desktop platform, memory makers have adopted Intel’s new XMP 3.0 overclocking profile standard. Meanwhile, AMD is working around the clock to launch its DDR5-compatible [...
just another marketing gimmick by AMD to avoid paying royalties for the XMP platform, nothing changes
I used rivatuner back in like 08/09, What's it like these days, it had a lot of bugs back then.
I used Fraps for FPS counter lol, I stll have a paid FRAPS just don't use it anymore.. It always took an FPS hit to show FPS lol..
rivatuner statistics is pretty solid
some minor compatibility issues with software but it's generally reliable
download msi afterburner it includes riva thner
I think this what I will try, Not sure why Origin doesn't support 4K I guess the in-game counter can be made bigger.. "PerfOverlay.FpsDisplayScale 4"
you can then use msi afterbuenr with tiva to well show temps graphs etc
it actually doesnt include Riva tuner, it's an external package to afterburner
I think Rivatuner is what they are all built upon, even EVGA Precision IIRC
yes but its included in the installer
Riva tuner, and riva tuner statistics are different pieces of software
MSI afterburner does not include the software, it bundles the dependency to allow for the FPS counter
included in the installare and you have the option to indtall it or not
see above
thsts what i meany
no you misunderstand
they are different things
Riva tuner is a client suite of tools, you mean Riva tuner statistics
well yeah
All this hype over GPU shortage getting better, only for next-gen GPUs to launch in about 9 months from now and make shortage worse than it ever was
I refuse to purchase any hardware at this ridiculous time. I will wait it out.
it will be worse but they're talking about supply for current hardware only
AMD and Nvidia relying on the same node gonna make shortage so much worse imo
nah
using same node doesn't = double the demand for that node
access to TSMC nodes are timed for supply, they each get their own portion
it will just be worse because 5nm nodes haven't reached maturity like 7nm, and won't for a while
Apple is still using 5nm heavily, they will move to 4nm soon but that uses the exact same fabs and tools as 5nm
doesn't matter
nodes are produced on wafers according to their own section, tool aggregation has never been a problem
it's been done for years, because it has to
TSMC 5nm production is significantly lower than 7nm afaik
GPUs are being produced far more than ever before yet there's still a shortage
well yeah because it doesn't matter how much supply there was for GPUs it was an industry demand problem not a GPU specific problem
The problem is a domino effect.
Covid-Hysteria >> Material Shortage >> Demand >> Scalping >> Demand >> Scalping >> Unnecessary Upgrades >> Hoarding >> Greed >> Demand.

man, i was looking forward to not getting one sooner than later
says the guy with a 3080
does someone here know what happens when you put 4GB ram in one channel and 8GB in the other one ? (assuming it works at all bcs obv mixed sticks) buildzoid has made a video about it and said that dual channel would work as long as you use <8gb* of ram, above 8gb* the cpu cant split the extra data between the two channels anymore and therefore be as slow as single channel when accessing that data
@pale quartz maybe but he might have me blocked LOL
we had a really not agreeing with each other at all conversation a while ago
bruh just cause I don't agree with someone doesn't mean I'll block them
as long as you don't personally come after me you're good
he's correct, dual channel doesn't take into consideration the size of the DIMM modules, it's just where the sticks are themselves, as long as everything is equal aka CAS latency speed etc it will default to dual channel for both sticks, it's simply a divisional number
assuming the sticks are mixed and not the same brand, the motherboard with lock the dual channel to the lowest common speed on both sticks, normally JEDEC spec 2133/2666
I'm not sure about the technical limitation of 4GB specifically but based on how the IMC segregates data it sounds correct
why anyone would use 4GB especially on DDR4 is questionable anyways
i corrected it to >8gb of ram used bcs only then the cpu cant split anymore when using 4gb in one and 8gb in the other channel my mistake thank you for explaining
yeah essentially it's a DDR4 hardware level limitation
this wouldnt be an issue, under normal circumstances where memory is asynchronous for its executions as dual channel would simply be able to deallocate blocks as need be
but DDR4 segments transfer requests into synchronous timings so it isn't possible to dynamically deallocate and reallocate blocks for this specific technical limitation
OEM manufacturers I guess.
Flex mode
A lot of $800 laptops still use 4GB.
Mine still use 4GB
I added another 8GB though.
Refer to this @eager sun
thank you
@lunar dawn the other day with your advice on NIS. dlss etc. After testing. 1440p on the 2060 is the best, can't get 60fps in 4k even on settings low. 1440p, is good though
afteral its a 2060 with just 6gbs of vram lol
its a 1080p card
I have a pc that has a (3070rtx 16gb) and I have 64 gb of ram
I thought if you used 2 different sized dimms of ram it will operate at dual channel until it exceeds the 8GB, and the last 4 GB will be in single channel. There was a name for this. It does it on my triple channel AMD board, I just can't remember the term it was dual or triple (Something rather) mixed mode.
no dual channel always works
i mean i have 2*16 gbs sticks rn in dual channel
he was talking about 2 different sized 1-8GB & 1-4GB I'l correct my post.
When I did that before on a triple channel board, it ran in dual something mode
Dual Symmetric I believe is what is was called
that tiny fan tho
thats not a fan, its a blower they were so much better then the open coolers today, I still have my 2 8800GTS / 9800GTX+ / 2 GTX285FTW all with blowers, but they are loud, very effective but loud.
Blowers were never better than open style coolers
Blower coolers are only needed for GPUs in OEM type cases with very little airflow
How do you know
Blowers were the only coolers available on High-End cards
before open coolers
blowers were definitely more effective, the open cooler are just more effective with less noise
people wanted silent coolers
Especially when SLI was a thing, I had 3 285 blower gpus, and then 2 780's in SLI was way too hot. I can say from experience the blowers were better. You can't really compare it to a new GPU cause they much different in efficiency and power. I mean I have a 3 slot GPU right now, it does work very well, and is pretty much silent
but the cooler is 3 times the size
probably 4-5 times more aluminum then my 285s
All I know is that Blower card looks sexy AF
yeah well i dont like having a jet engine next to me while im playing with speakers
For sure.
They were very loud especially 3 of them
lmao yes
Intel i5-12400 benchmarks are in bois
Can someone help me please
I need to buy battery and charger for my laptop.
The manufacturer doesnt carry the battery and charger for my laptop any more.
Amazon
But their label on the battery and charger dont match mine.
As long as the connector fits, has same polarity, and same specs, Amps, voltage etc.. then it should work, But that's up to you. They even make multi DC power supplies for laptops you just put in the correct tip, turn to proper polarity, and set amperage, and voltage to work virtually any laptop.
I have even cut the connectors off one brand and wired to another brand, it's all about power delivery, but ultimately that's your decision.
https://www.twitch.tv/xxxbigcountry
LIVE NOW!!
You can't post that
How would I check specs, voltage, amps, polarity etc. It doesnt say those things on my label or theirs
yes
Sounds more like oldegg at that stage 😋
rotten egg!

Ngl from what i know newegg has been a pretty trustworthy site for a long time
But as i never shopped there considering i live in the EU i can't really confirm this by my own experience. But at least i have heard good things
Are there any other options for conversations between PC/XBOX/PC during a "session" ?
I've heard that you will be able to use discord on PS5 within a few weeks ???
I mean you can use discord
it's all ancient just upgraded
Can you make a teamspeak server for free?
Actually PC hardware is becoming so much a console they look like Twinkie Rainbow Slurpee machines

It's been a while but I had a dedicated teamspeak server
It's not possible to use Discord or even Teamspeak on PS5.
With PS4 you can use Webbrowser to join discord... but not with PS5.
A pc can do soo much things. Entertain you, make you bunch of money etc... 😋
And.... yes.... i'm playing on PC
Forgot to mention lack PCIe lanes to be more then a gaming machine
On discord you don't have to pay or do much special to have your own server
Discord is basically teamspeak 5.0
yeah I didn't with teamspeak either, and did not need boost pay walls
I still have a dedicates Teamspeak Server... but this will even not be possible to use on ps5
you could try some hot love voice chat site
I know thanks
I'm actually trying to find something that would work.
PS5 and Xbox have internet browser?
No... PS5 has no Browser.
ohh well then thats not going to work
That's why i've asked if you heard about other possibilities.
But anyway... thank you for your investigation.
I thought it could be that you have other options ... (in other countries)
PS5 / PS4 can use "Playstation Party" ... but PC-User can not join....
That's not the best Situation for X-Play.....
COD is much better in that role.😩
I'm seeing something about Playstation party chat on PC
Unfortunately discord isn't usable on either consoles yet
Yes... that will work... but your PC has to be in the same NETWORK 😫
ahh that sucks
I also see that some wireless headsets will connect to a phone and PC/console at the same time for use on discord mobile,
so in game sounds, and mobile device
some people use earbuds on mobile phone and use headset over top of them for gaming
You are right. But there are still a lot of sound problems.
I've tried that several times with mobile phone/PS5/discord or mobile phone/PC/discord ...
But that really sucks... in case of
- Sound overlay
- connetion Lost
- ....
Anyway... thank you for helping. But it looks like my friends has to wait until discord will be useable on PS5...
TAKE CARE OF YOU AND STAY HEALTHY
Greetings from Germany ✌🏻👍🏻✊🏻
sorry for my worse english
Hey guys, I watched some Youtube videos of players running BF5 on high settings and getting 60+ fps on an older rig. The video that I specifically watched matched my specs, which is an i7 4790 and a GTX 970 4gb with 16gb of RAM. For their video, it ran very smoothly in multiplayer. For me, it's the opposite. I get 25-30 fps on lowest settings (when there's nothing happening on the screen), and 15 fps when explosions and lots of action happening. This is on 1080p 60 hz resolution (I have a Dell Ultrasharp Monitor that is capped at 60hz, used for editing and rendering). When I run the game, I close all applications in the background as well. Task Manager during game is CPU 30% and GPU 10%. It does seem like a bottleneck but after watching the videos, I just don't know if it is or just old hardware.
Hardware: - Gigabyte Z97 D3H Motherboard, Intel Core i7 4790, Gigabyte GTX 970 (Mini ITX), 8GB DDR3 Vengeance RAM (idk what speed it has), 8GB unidentifiable RAM (No company label or name, no cover) and a Cooler Master V1000 PSU. I have a Dell Ultrasharp U2422H Monitor @ 1080p and 60hz. Thank you for anyone trying to help me from reading this long paragraph
(Side Note: It was previously used by my family member for 5 years of uni rendering and editing images, it is just BF5 that runs this bad, other games (BF4 on High has 60 fps on 1080)
8gb of ddr3 is my guess
is it dual or single channel?
so did the guy in the vid have ddr4 ram
Quick question: When i set my fans to PWM in bios they always seem louder than when i set them to DC. I'm using smart fan, and also used the fan calibration option too. I always thought that Pulse wave mod was better than DC?
RTX 3050 is gonna be in tight supply, its production relies on defective GA106 chips, which is the same chip the RTX 3060 is based on
GA106 yields are too good to have many cut-down ones, so don't expect to see very many 3050s
It obv depends on the fan curve. If its the same curve the fans should run at the same speed and there shouldnt be a difference.
@eager sun Ive got it set where i can live with the fan noise. Its just strange how DC is near silent when idle compared to pwm.
Instinct Mi210 GPU
1 chiplet, 104 compute units
Pretty much like a Mi250X cut in half
My NAS hasn't been online for 24 hours and I can't put photos on my laptops as its 100% used
oh well, cant backup rn

what is considered too hot for hotspot temp?
i just ignore the hot spot reading, i have a gtx 1080 and for a couple of years that reading didnt even exist, also its surely not something actually measured as the gpu doesnt have temperature sensors all over it and the gap between normal core temp and hot spot is always the same for me (its 11C idle/gaming doesnt matter) both move up and down in sync down to the decimal point
at least for me it quite obvious that its an artificial value software gets by doing whatever but surely not by actually measuring something physically present on the gpu
it's the hottest temperature sensor
and you don't need to monitor temperatures in general unless you suspect a cooling issue causing throttling of a part
rip everyone who thought they were gonna get a 3050
for me the reading is always exactly +11C abvoe normal core temp and didnt even exist for years it might be something actually measured on newer cards but for my 1080 it definitely isnt
They hadn't enabled viewing it in drivers
AMD cards has for a while
And the gap is just from average temp to highest temp
i understand that but the gap is the same all the time which doesnt make any sense
mine is reaching 100+ degrees tho
even if mine was real i would ignore it as it didnt exist for a long time so why care about it now you were fine overclocking and stuff without even seeing the hotspot reading for years anyways
if your sure its actually something measured and the gap between average core temp and hotspot is really high you could consider reapplying new thermal paste to be sure everything is as good as it gets there
As well as mounting pressure
my gpu always (no matter what game) levels out at 70C and my cpu at 51C. Is that good?
What GPU, it's not bad, but maybe it needs more air.
By no means is that too hot, but it can be cooler then that
What are the idle temps?
everything i've read say its almost ideal, tomshardware's test model had 74C
Yeah my 2080 gets that hot @ 100%, I don't like it, but I also don't like all the fans in my case running full 100% it's like a jet engine.
Every GPU I've had would sit around 70-75C
see for me my pc is super quiet
I wish running 3 monitors would let my card run at idle, this 1230MHZ sucks, fans going on and off sucks. idling at 54c rather then 36c
my GPU hits 80+ most the time, but i would say my case doesnt have the best airflow
wut gpu?
EVGA 2080 XC2 Ultra 3 Slot
is it a coincidence that your name is ice and your gpu is on fire

in october i am planning on upgrading my rig to: rtx 4080, ryzen 7 6800x, 32gb DDR5, and a new mobo
and 4k monitor
i want to upgrade my pc also when the 4000 series comes out
i will probs try to get a 3070
best card now imho
rn ive got a i5 9400f with a 1660super and 16gb ram
i will hopefully upgrade to a 4070 and then either a R7 or an I7 and i will just keep the ram i have now as its fairly new
yeah now i have rtx 2060 super, r5 3600x, and 32gb of ram (overkill)
never used more than 12gb
tbf i was thinking about getting another 16GB kit and have 32GB but its not gonna be a priority, i doubt i will go for 32GB though tbh
i have used 15GB before on tarkov but this was like a few months ago and the optimization is fairly better now
i mainly just hit 13GB max overall now
tho i do need new ssd
but yeah most people i know that have 32GB of ram say its not worth it so it will be best to take there advice
2060 super at 4k isnt the best tbh
i play 8k 240 fps with a gtx 1060
no like that's why im upgrading
oh lol
i honestly play 4k 120fps on a lg c1 and 1440p 240hz with a samsung odyssey g7

Post the labels
labels?
Labels of charger and battery
what gpu
ohh I forgot, for the laptop PSU
yeah I can upload it and link to it for you
and take a look
you can DM me
msi suprim x 3090
It doesnt allow me to DM
I going to try the Nvidia Profile inspector for multimonitor power saver, it works, but wonder if it will be a hassle to add games for full performance, I would rather it just handled it like normal, Profile Inspector no comes with Inspector BTW. but all you have to do is download and put it in the folder.
card is idling now at 645mhz instead of 1230mhz
normally is 300mhz
@humble iris what do I do?
you can send the pic
Where?
Hello, can someone help me? i want to play Battlefield 4 and when i try to join TeamDeath match or something, then after 1 minute i get kicked by the punkbuster, i dont use 3rd party software, any idea?
Awesome it's idling down to 300mhz with 3 1080P 144hz G-Sync on 1
anyone know where i can find a 4k 120 or 144hz gaming monitor for less than $700?
so expensive
Does anyone know why running games on my 1080p 55in TV is so pixelated and grainy vs my laptop?
I connect via HDMI
Pixels per inch
because your tv is way too large
Its the same amount of pixels spread across a gargantuan area
^
even 27" 1080p looks bad but 55" must be next level bad
Ngl i cant tell the difference between my 27" 1080 and 27" 1440p
Well i can if i look closely, but not in games
Just look at cable tv and youll know
Here is like 720p, on our 55" tv its just fuzz
not ? i instantly see it when i watch youtube videos/streams on a 27" monitor dont know how it is in games though
You mean a 1080p stream on a 1440p monitor ?
That will look bad cuz science
I dont know the exact reason but i think its cuz 2560 cant be divided by 1920 to get an integer value, so shit gets squish squashed
This isnt exactly scientific but:
Top is 1440 on a 1440p monitor
Middle is 1080 on a 1440 monitor
And bottom is 1080 on 1080
1080 on 1440 is noticably more blurry than 1080 on 1080 to me
yeah
If you open as original and really zoom in its night and day
not sure if this sounds like im chatting shit but to me on the 1080 on 1440 it reminds me sort of a puzzle where you can see the outline of each puzzle piece
Can someone help me with battery and charger of laptop?
The manufacturer doesnt carry the charger and adapter for my laptop anymore
Lenovo legion y520 is my laptop. When I search for the battery and charger on Amazon, I get lenovo's ideapad battery and charger instead
or 4k
Mine looks different
I need the charger and battery in 2 days. So, I was thinking if I could get them from Amazon and use the prime delivery.
But when I try to get charger and battery for y520. They show me the charger for ideapad instead.
im running a 3060 and ryzen 7 4750g with 1080p high settings and dlss on balanced, but sometimes im getting as low as 38 frames. Anyone know what's wrong?
if its for 2042. refund the game because its dookie
bad optimization and just bad everything. get battlefield v
this 99% sounds like a laptop so make sure the game is actually using the dedicated GPU, note that laptop performance is very variable and is not representative of desktop 3060 class performance
if the OEM does not have the charger anymore, you will have no choice but to get it from third party sellers
dont get bfv
get bf1
such a good game
bfv is till good but man bf1 is better
that cpu has integrated graphics, is your monitor connected to mobo or gpu
also check in task manager if its using gpu or igpu while playing the game
im pretty certain it's not using my apu for graphics because I know the game would run at 1 fps lmao. Before I got the 3060, I tried the game with the integrated graphics and it was unplayable at low settings
hdmi is connected to gpu
i mean you can still check ... open the game open task manager then while playing alt tab and under the performance tab check the gpu usage
that said this game needs optimisation
if its average 38 fps then its bad if its low 38 its bad but not as bad
anyway try to download newest drivers
ok
yes
anyway (imo) you shouldnt use geforce experience its just bloatware
but thats my opinion
and i also hate the fact that you need a nvidia account to use that
anyway try new driver and also check temps while playing
alright
btw to check temps use something like msi afteburner with riva stats overlay or https://www.hwinfo.com/download/ (wich i really like)
rn im playing the witcher 3 but I'll do all of that when I get back on bf
oh man im not blaming you for not wanting to play the game lol
hopefully they ll fix it ... one day
well, other than the fps, I've been having fun. haven't experienced any bugs except for falling through the floor once and also the reload sign bug. But ig I'll hate it more the more I play
Raptor-Lake i9-13900K has 68MB total cache, 24MB more than 12900K
L2 cache per-core has been increased from 1.25MB to 2MB

Hello today is the day I'm gonna buy my first owned gpu :D will the Evga RTX 3060 XC 12Gb. Run this game at 100 fps at least?
Depends on ur CPU tbh
I'm gonna pair it with the i7-10700k
Becuase on the reccomend specs it shows RTX 3060
But on the video they get like 90 fps
Pr 80?
You might get that or even more on smaller game modes like Rush or 64-player playlist for now
They said they're gonna do more optimization so hopefully where are gonna get more performance in the future
Wait fr like when you say performance you meen like better fps :D
yeah yeah
I hope it good :)
Also can I still be sweaty and competitive at 90 fps
Or nah
Like I want to be able to win gun fights when playing aggresive
you will end up a bit over 100fps average if you play 1080p lowest graphics settings
It also depends on your ram
I'm having problems with my game on Battlefield 1, can I get help here?

What's so good about the G502 Hero that it has almost thirty thousand ratings on Amazon with a 4....
@storm osprey @molten coral
why not let LTT settle it?
i saw that vid but to me it didnt look like a G502 he was holding so i never bothered watching it
save your money get a 12600k instead
welp. it is indeed about the g502
It looks exactly like the G502?
im guessing he means the thumbnail
ye i'm talking about the thumbnail
TLDR, ltt says he recommends it, but there are still other options out there.
yeah idk what other mouse that could of been but at that moment in time i thought it was a different mouse, probs just me being dumb
I quit using Logitech mice after 20+ yrs.went through 3 mice, and the click buttons are so sensitive they don't last my strength, and I hate sensitive switches, almost clicking by itself. I miss my Logitech 700s it lasted a good 2 or 3 years. I absolutely hated the 502 Hero, and the G703 Lightspeed lasted only 1 year with issues throughout that year. I've been using the Corsair Dark Core PRO for over a year, and it's been solid as a rock, still wish it was heavier, and less click sensitive though. I did recently go back to a Logitech Keyboard G815, for a month or so It's been solid so far.
Never use zowie mice by benq
Ive gone through 2 and they both started double clicking after less than a year
i've done the same lol
but i still bought a 3rd one because i love the size and shape
havent found any other like them, size and shape wise
Truuue
Its like the only gamer mouse that doesnt look like you can slice your finger open on it
quick question can you not enable DLSS on a 1080p monitor?
Early on you could not, but some new games allow DLSS in game settings, but I see no real advantage or notice.
yeah I found out how to do it via geforce experience
yeah i mean from what i can tell it just adds fps
It doesn't do anything me.
damn
razer all the way, i have a basilisk v3 and it is solid
i like razer apart from their audio products and their mice
Guess what I bought the EVGA RTX Ti 3060 8GB
😎 😎 😎
How many frames you think I can get with it paired with my i7-10700k I bought
I need help in bf1 my character stops running
Just ping me please if you can help me
Don’t even have to watch to know he recommends it as a general mouse and not fps specific.
90+ maybe
Maybe look for benchmarks on YouTube
For which game? What resolution? What settings?
For battlefiled 2042 I'm gonna pIr with my i7-10700k
Was trying to find a good affordable combo for the game hoping the game wont take all my 8GB of VRAM do 😭
I have a 10700k for 1440p with a 3080 and with low settings and dlss I get 110 fps average unless I’m in absolute mayhem.
I'm only gonna play 1080p
Wonder if the game has dlss performance
🤔
I need help on bf1 imma smash everything
What happend is your pc working ?
Maybe check the settings and see if it's to either click or hold, IDK.
Is the G502 really that good?
The G604 is where it's at
Already on hold
The only thing else I can think of is another software conflicting with the keyboard itself, or USB port due to the USB is shared. it might be disengaging the usb port for a millisecond or something. I would start with a background program, even try disabling Origin/EA ingame overly and seeing if that helps. I wouldn't rule out a keyboard hardware or software issue maybe a macro interfering like in G-Hub or something. Test with another keyboard maybe. at least try to rule it out.
Maybe even test a different USB port on a different root hub.
is it a wireless keyboard? maybe try plugging it in USB direct
It’s a laptop
maybe if it's wireless your cellphone is interfering
A gaming one and I don’t have this problem on bf 4
And I looked it up on google and they where saying turn off ingame overlay but it’s turned off too
just because it doesnt happen on another game doesn't mean it's the game
doesn't mean it isnt either, just isolating the issue is the main thing
Mhm
Maybe a conflicting software.
the game is demanding, it could very well even be a power issue
What laptop model?
3060has 12gb😅
Asus rog the rest idk I have an ryzen 5600h and a rtx 3050ti
16 gb ram
Factory reset on my NAS rn
Not sure why I could not connect to it for a while, then it came up as non initialized
Wish this had an LED screen to show what happened, but w/e
Also the drive was pretty warm during it
I have the ti version
People said the Ti is better then reg 3060
Even do it's 8GB
Is it normal to get 50 fps with a 3090 and an i7-12700k in this game 🤣🤣
Its so horribly optimized
yeah well got a fix tried everything and this close to refunding
did you try uninstalling and reinstalling steam already ?
no i get 125 fps avg with 9900k and gtx1080 at 1080p all low settings
you should get same/better fps even with maxed graphics settings
What about my EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC 8GB and my i7-10700k?
How many frames would I get?
i would expect the same ~120fps avg 1080p lowest settings
Right!!!! Lol
i must say that i have my 125fps average number form capframe x i recorded my fps for a few games and that was the result when occasionally looking at the ingame fps counter i dont get that impression but im sure capframe x doesnt lie
Qesution is this type of performance normal for a game or is this game not fully done getting optimizations?
its really far from beeing optimized at all
playing the game on mid range pcs is basically impossible
Oof
y e s
what settings
also i have a 3090+ i9 9900ks and i get 160-180 fps in 1440p
anyway try these things;
use ddu and install latest nvidia drivers (released yesterday)
delete the cache folder under documents/bf2043/cache
use fullscreeen (not borderless), disable vsync and motion blur, try nvidia reflex on+boost, enable future frame renderin, use dlss quality or balanced
that helped me
o i have a nvidia geforce gt 710 any upgrade ones i should get? maybe something that i can keep up with the new games like halo that came out
same as battlefield
depends also on cpu, resolution you want to play and at what fps
my gtx 1080 isnt even at 100% i wouldnt expect a better gpu to make a difference then :/
1080ti from my brother also clearly below 100%
should i get the 1080 then
you re cpu bottlenecked
my gpu is almost at 100% due to my cpu being fast enough
(5.1 ghz all core)
anyway this game is cpu bound on most scenarios
for 1080p i d get a 1080/1080ti/2060/ 2060 super/3060
i run 5.2ghz all core 4.9ghz cache -_-
what cpu
9900k
also this game likes fast ram
4000C15 xd
4600nhz cl18
cl15? samsung b die?
yes
i can oc my ram but i highly doubt that will do that much
do you know what bandwidth/latency your getting ? (aida64)
gonna check later lol rn im getting my third vaccine shot rn
depends on wants/needs and its pretty subjective. id say the only objective flaws are the cheap switches and plastic feel, but the sensor is top of the line and build quality is pretty good. everything else like shape and weight is up to you. its a good overall mouse imo, especially if you do any sort of production.
you either memeing, lying, or fucked something up. i get about 110 fps at 1440p with a 10700k and 3080
Is this fast ram I bought to sets of these?
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
i get almost 200 with a 3090 so that sounds about right but anyway its still very low compared to 240+ all ultra 1440p bf1 or bfv
especially bf1 wich looks better than any bf game ever made
well bf1/bfv have half the people and is optimized for cpu
Alright ill try that
not really apples to apples
ok but why i get lower fps in 16vs16 matched on 2042 vs 32vs32 on bfv/bf1
literally half the player and still less fps
because the game is cpu optimized so it doesnt scale like traditional games
anyway i already unistalled it and i ll probably wait for season 1 to reinstall
I must be doing something wrong, so ill try what Revan said
game is glitched af anyway
Yup
it resets my settings almost evrry time i restart the game
basically the hardware required to get 60fps is relatively low compared to what 2042 is doing, but you dont scale with better hardware compared to almost every other game out there
wich is dumb imo since in a 16vs16 portal tdm you cant be cpu bottlenecked
literally no explosion and no v1/artiller like bfv
All those settings are were prettymuch already on, so ill try to delete cache, and what do u mean by ddu?
anyway thats also why i reinstalled bf1 and uninstalled bf2042 tried to grt a refubd but steam got angry
yea it is dumb, i have banging hardware and i dont get to scale off of it because of the way they optimized it, but imo if it was optimized traditionally there would be a lot less low end systems that couldnt outright play it at all
display driver uninstall
its a software that you run in safe windows mode
to ubinstall the gpu driver
then you need to download rhe latest one from nvidia website
or amd ... depending on the gpu
I did
I have the latest drivers
yeah what i would try is reinstall the driver...
remove it with ddu and re download it from nvidia website
honestly idc about low end systems like they expect to be playing AAA games in 2022 with 6-7 years old hardware
im sure you dont care, but devs/pubs easily do 🤷
while that might be true everyone that has a 3070 or better got super angry in the steam reviews because someone with old hardware doesnt expect the game to run at 1440p ultra 140 fps while someone who just bought a new gpu does expect that
the problem is that most people expect AT LEAST 60 fps, which is how 2042 is optimized (9400 and 1060 gets 60fps at 1080p iirc). so yea... they sacrificed getting the game to the minimum necessary for a lot of people, which makes absolute sense considering the percentages of people rocking old hardware vs new, and especially vs new top of the line
honestly true but sometimes dips below 60 with a 3090 and input lag is horrible
and frame time is also pretty bad coompared to bf1
(a lot of spikes)
your shit is fuckd, you have a better system compared to me and im getting way more fps than that, my dips are 90fps at worst
i mean all other vulkan/dx11/dx12/opengl games work just fine
its only 2042 that runs so bad
i mean... 99.99% of games arent even close to doing as much as 2042 is trying to do... 128 players alone puts it in a very exclusive club
you cant look at 2042 and say fps is bad when comparing it to cod
But they do...beacuse they dont understand.
And they are also playing on Console. lol
well yea.. thats the problem, they lack critical thinking and speak as if they know
does cod even have bullet travel or is it still hitscan?
It has travel.
at least it has that now
They had to when they added the 64 players large team maps.
Which I actually enjoy.
ironically one game that really is poorly optimized is halo infinite, the 4v4 mode gets like 10% more fps than 2042...
I'm not sure if you can compare it like that. lol
you dont think its weird people are shitting on 2042 performance when infinite gets barely better fps but does a lot less?
Thats like saying why am I only getting 240 FPS in League of Legends, lol
Hey guys just joined because I'm having some issues.
Oh for sure. That because they are idiots, lol
not sure how this applies to what i said
I changed some settings last night to hopefully get better performance and now I'm getting like 2 frames in the menus
Like I cant even click on all out warfare
Wait why?
The reviews say the ram is great do?
On pc partpicker
vengeace ram problem i experienced over the years:
they use cheap dies, cant handle oc
sometimes they cant even handle xmp
sometimws they sent me dead ram sticks
Mby they got better?
if you want good and cheap ram then crucial ballistix 3600mhz cl16
also what cas latency is that ram
you got
I didn't by the ram yet I was going to but you change my mind on the first option
Btw the case latency is 18 for the vengeance ram
thats not very good if its 3600mhz
you can this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LfVG3C/crucial-ballistix-max-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-4000-memory-blm2k8g40c18u4b
or the 3600mhz cl16 version
corsair uses the same stuff everyone else uses afaik, its up to the gods what ICs will end up on a ram kit
or as buildzoid says "whatever was on the factory floor that day"
uses low quality dies afaik i mean not samsung b dies
or similar
explains also the cl18 at only 3600mhz
check link above
kk
Will it go good with EVGA 3060TI Xc and i7-10700k with the Z-590 mother board?
yes, also remember to enable xmp in the bios to make the ram run at its rated speed (4000mhz in this case)
most rams need xmp to run above the default 2113/2400mhz
(you can check your current ram sperd in task manager > performance> memory)
depends on what
gaming? no, video editing? can be
depends
if you only game then 16 is enough
if you re a streamer/editor/programmer than you might consider getting 32
when playing bf2042 im using 10/16gb of ram
yeah thats because the 4000mhz 32 costs way more
and anyway if you dont use backgroubd stuff like chrome you dont need 32
3600mhz version in 32
and do 48?
did anyone else get a glitch when they 1st got Battlefield V where the game just doesnt wanna open and have a fix please?
i mean what are you trying to do?
2x16?
or 2x8?
best thing to get anyway is dual rank
you could get quad channel but it doesnt effect games basically, its just better in rendering afaik
and it costs more
I dont know what a dual rank is :(
number of sticks= dual rank is better than single channel memory
he would need to be on some server or threadripper to use quad channel
nah
thats 8 channel
quad channel is supported by most modern cpus
but its useless unless you really need that bandwidth
no quad channel is not supported by any modern cpu
Crucial Ballistix MAX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-4000 CL18 Memory paired this with the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Is this good?
you cant "pair" ram you either buy the 2x8 crucial or the 2x16* corsair but not both xd
Aw
Ok
I got an idea
Crucial Ballistix MAX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-4000 CL18 Memory paired with the Crucial Ballistix MAX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-4000 CL18 Memory
almost all modern cpus can use 4 sticks of ram
yes but thats not quad channel
that would be dual channel + dual rank
or even quad rank depending on the sticks
Is that a good combo
troll somewhere else please
or you could do quad channel single ram i think idk
what is that even supposed to be xd dual channel is max on every consumer gaming type cpu
is x299/x399 considered consumer?
this is a nice kit of ram
kk thx
yes but not gaming type stuff
well that can do quad channel ... thats what i meant lol
thats more workstation if you but that for gaming your doing something really wrong
indeed like i said only someone that needs it for work gets quad channel
thats not exactly "almost every cpu"
sorry "most modern cpus"
anyway if you want 32 gbs of ram you can get 4x8 but anyway ... if you dont keep 40 chrome tabs open while you game/stream/edit videos 16 is enough
Thanks for the info and advice the ram is now on my list 😀
so on the topic of pc building would i be better off with a 2tb m.2 and a 2tb hdd or a 2tb m.2 with a 1tb sata ssd and a 1tb hdd
(please @ me if you reply so i don't miss it)
what do you use your pc for
are you even sure you need that much space
if half of the space is just for archiving stuff get 2tb m.2 and 2tb hdd
if you actively work with everything dont get an hdd at all
also it speeds things up to not mix different speeds
for 4tb space one 4tb m.2 would be optimal as soon as you add a normal ssd or even hdd everything will slow down when moving stuff between ssds (to the speed of the slower partner)
Aight
Also is it still the case that all 16gb sticks of ram are dual rank or has that changed with silicon shortages and such.
you can check the ram specs i guess it should be written somewhere
For whatever reason manufacturers don't seem to write it anywhere
atp i confused myself but i would still say that single rank 16gb ddr4 still basically dont exist
and therefore a 16gb stick is gonna be dual rank
kingston does provide a technical sheet and anyway its on the sticker of the ram usually
(i know kingston does bcs i recently bought ram for my laptop from them)
there are also websites that track what is dual rank and what isnt to some extent at least
I know my ram is single rank from CPUz, nowhere else does it tell me if it's single or dual, it's Quad Channel though. Thinking about adding in another 4 sticks so it will act as Dual Rank, Quad channel.
BTW: 4x8=32GB CMK32GX4M4Z3200C16
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK32GX4M4Z3200C16
which cpu do you have
6950X upgraded from 5930K
8GB sticks are always single rank no surprise there
really
dual rank will only give you a very slight bandwidth boost (compared to the bandwidth you already have now) so if you dont need more ram anyways, its not worth the "upgrade"
ye
Okay, because of the density right
its possible but just not common at all
Found this on google. In a simplified explanation, an 8GB single rank DIMM, such as HyperX FURY 8GB HX421C14FB2/8, is built with 8 individual higher density memory chips, whereas a dual rank 8GB DIMM is built with 16 lower density chips, double the number of chips but same module capacity.
Rank interleaving helps dual rank
yes for 8gb dual rank you would need 16 4gbit x8 ddr4 ics
yeah that's why I was going to add 4 more sticks, and also so I use some for my L1 cache on RAID Array, and L2 NVMe
Only HEDT and above
I have 8 Dimms Quad channel
yes afaik its very minimal though like low single digit percentages
Cause you have HEDT
You are correct.
yea if you need more ram anyways thats makes sense, wouldnt make sense to get more ram just for dual rank alone though
Ohh for sure, I was using 8GB for my L1 cache and the hit rate is 100% so I wanted to double it to 16GB I have it setup like this RAID 0 6 WD Blacks 6TB L1 Cache System Ram 8GB DDR4/3200mhz Quad L2 Cache Samsung 980 1TB NVMe
i basically dont know anything about raid* but im sure you know what your doing xd
Just building a super fast 6TB Raid Array for games and scratch
It's at 1TB filled as of now
Here is the setup if you're interested in how it works. https://www.pcegaming.com/images_blog/RAID0x6-Primo.jpg
thx
does anyone know why my nvidia color filter isnt working?
I Cannot believe this command still works! Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks I've been using that since like WinXP IIRC. It will force your CPU to 0% very useful just before running benchmarks.

I just bought BF1, it's literally unplayable. I play through the tutorial, configured my settings, all is fine until I connect to the home menu, I click "go online", but after loading for a couple of seconds, nothing happens.
That's not the worst part, when I exit the game, try to find methods of solving this, and I open it, it treats me like I'm totally new to the game, asking me to choose some settings, play through the tutorial etc.
How do I fix this? I literally bought a broken product I'm not sure if this is on my end, or EA.
Have you restarted the PC?
Do you have privacy settings blocking in Windows 10?
yes
not sure, how do i check?
have you played other games without issues?
yes, except for battlefront 2. every time i start it up and press go online, it will also do nothing, but usually if i go to the desktop, click on some random things, go back into the game and connect, it usually works
this fix does not work for bf1
What's your PC Specs?
RX 570 8GB, Ryzen 5 5600X, 16GB 3600Mhz RAM, WD Blue 550 SSD's
Do you mean RX 5700?
Specs seem okay, it sounds like file corruption, are you running the SSDs in RAID
i can check
should they?
No. not that it's issue unless you have a cache and the deferred writes are not getting written to the target disk, or maybe ram issues. I only asked cause you SSDs as in more then 1
so what should i do?
quickly mentioning, i have a 500gb ssd for windows and software, such as origin. the second 1tb ssd is for games, including bf1
Well the only reason I sat this is it's happening in more then 1 game, and weird anomalies that get it working.
There are some things you can do, first I would check the drives for errors, scan the drives, run Trim/Optimze, use WD Dashboard to check for hardware errors.
Make backups of sensitive data before doing any of this.
You could repair Windows. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e
USE CAUTION HERE Ultimately I would Wipe the drives and install windows NEW. Back up any sensitive data and files.
Lenovo is vendor-locking its AMD Ryzen based platforms with AMD PSB including its Ryzen Pro ThinkCentre Tiny platforms. We just purchased an AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE system and found that AMD PSB was enabled from the factory. This means that the CPU can only be used by Lenovo-signed systems.
