standard rule it has fans and a mesh cover
ah the 300a great case
cheapest good case i would get (though not really balanced for a 3080 but should still be good enough) is this
in terms of fans you're aiming for a positive pressure stream meaning a 3/1 front to end fan split, anymore and you're actually most likely going to increase temperatures
and these are the fans i get, though usually not nearly this expensive
damn australia prices are weird
and you definitely will increase the operating dB noise
the more fans, the slower they can run imo
though theres a point of diminishing returns at 3/4 fans
I can fork out a bit extra cash if i have to
I want my system to last not break down
they can run slower however the base noise will funnily enough still be louder
4 is generally fine but 5+ you're pushing the back fan to higher speeds to maintain constant temperatures
at 5 i would have 3 intake and 2 exhaust normally
I'll admit. I'm not confident putting a PC together cause i don't want to lose hundreds of dollars
If i mess up
its very hard to mess it up
Yeah
just look at the verge
What did they do
put up one of the worst build guides ever
you should be fine the most difficult parts are mainly the inconvenience parts which are the hardest to go catastrophically wrong, ironically
need any assistance just ask
For sure, I just want to order the tower with the stuff already inside but the website doesn't have what i need and well... Yeah.
5900x
32GB ram 3600 tridentz
1TB Aorus gen 4 m2
1TB 850SN m2
Rtx 3080Ti MSI
Mother board: gigabyte x570 aorus elite
Selling my beast
bare metal mount the motherboard very fun
here?
This isn't the place to sell your PC man
lmao I was like weird
not allowed here
Ok thanks
i guess we need your full specs, including fans and cpu cooler to know what to suggest, and a budget
So really are just the fans at the front enough ooooor?
Is mesh plus frontal fans generally recommended
at bare minimum you want 2 at front for intake and 1 at back for exhaust
they'll be fine yeah
as a general rule 90% of fans nowadays are absolutely optimal
unless you're going seriously critical in something like reducing noise they'll be totally fine
#RGB on top
I couldn't stand it ended up just turning them off for mine
To be honest, I'm not even looking for RGB on a desktop, If i get it so be it. Just gimme something that holds everything.
altered components now but you get the gist
so looking at prices, it seems the lian li 215 is probably your best budget option
vs something like this
I've actually had a good browse at cases with 3 fans
3 to 4 fans
Cause you put that in my head
idk what this means
you were looking at cases with 3/4 fans?
In a sense, Were keeping an eye out. One at the back 2 to 3 at the front
is that alright?
the silverstone fara f1? i personally dont know it
The Silverstone Fara R1 mesh case is, in some ways, a cheaper successor to the Silverstone RL06 -- but with fewer fans. We're reviewing and benchmarking the new R1 case today.

though your is the pro so idk the differences
So that Hexagonal front would often mean they're an open front?
the pattern doesnt MEAN it is universally, but this case is
the hexagon is just a design
Ahhhhhhh i feel like a dumbass asking all these questions
nah dont worry
nothing dumb everybody has questions
seems like the fara r1 pro just adds 1 more intake fan?
iirc yeah
which listening to this gn review they said the case really needs to add 1 more intake to be good

I just found this, Seem pretty good
timestamped
Yeah i'm listening to that
Oh
Can i ask something as well
What's a good temp for your comp
Or acceptable
i think in general under 90c for most components if "acceptable"
Ahhhhh
though most will be concerned if you are in the mid 80's
Ahhhhh
cpu and gpu dont throttle usually till about 90c+
- Thanks to a fancy new feature of DirectX 12 called "Explicit Multi-Adapter," this is now possible (for only one game currently, but still!). Let's see what kind of performance scaling we should expect from such a combo.

Do you have a second GPU but is not SLI or Crossfire compatible with your new GPU?
Well here is a few option you can re-use your GPU to actually get something out of it again.

i do have a 1060 lying around. and i also have a spare slot. but i dont have the psu for it
its got the wattage in theory, but not the cable
why are you sitting on a 1060?!
you can sell that for more than you bought it if you got it before covid
because its in my dads pc
and also my brother was planning on building a pc so i saved it for him
but he never did
:(
it's because it supports SLI
developers don't typically list that on the recommended section but that's pretty neat they bothered to
its because nvidia say they want you to have a dedicated gpu running PhysX as well as your gpu for rendering
they dont need to be in sli
or even the same gpu
I used to run 2 GPU (not in sli) to render models in blender
Saved so much of my time with limited hardware
do you think a 1060 would run on a dual molex -> 6 pin pcie power adapter ?
because i dont have another dedicated pcie power cable on my psu :(
My friend used to run it through molex and almost burn down his house...
And the desktop itself did catch on fire
ah yes physx the failed meme
alright maybe i wont then
i heard its a solid case
have you looked at corsairs new cases?
4000d airflow etc?
Uhhhhh
I bought two of the same case
No
$39 each
You need all the RGB
Well. It was still better than my old cooler master case
Plus… my bedroom is 10C cooler than my previous bedroom
guys, if you need a cheap monitor and u have a broken laptop with a intact monitor....there is actually a soultion. now i have 2 monitors stacked (on my new laptop xd)
my friend thought it was weird too but it works lol
I once did that!
I'm worried you used tape
It is small
If I ever need one, then I will get the $35 1080p display from Australia Post if it is on sale
they are in the new laptop

hehehe
Very expensive
for the specs? actually not half bad
a ripoff for the 5600x, but it's Australia so ripoff is basically a surname
Everythings expensive here
Is there anything you would go for? I get you'd go for a 5900x
5900x is just for longevity imo 5800x works too
Fair enough!
once you approach 5800x and above there's a slight argument for diminishing returns both solid picks
Actually since you'd know this stuff. I'm curious. With how Ventus does their stuff, How does Trinity differ from AMP Holo?
It's so weird
i wouldnt get a samsung drive for just gaming, you can likely save a pretty penny and not notice the .5 second load time difference
That is true, Though 980
in terms of which difference? sound, performance?
Performance
generally very, negligible
Ahhhh Minuet
Nvidias cards are mostly all highly binned you'll be hard pressed to find a noticeable difference
Ye
in terms of acoustics the MSI ventus will be quieter iirc, but if you're not concerned by that it's a non factor
Yeah the 3080 that is there serves to just there to show "hey 3080 will go into this*
yeah because companies need to market their cards to try and show a "difference" you'll find all these bs terms that try to implicate performance, for Nvidia specifically they all perform basically the same
some have custom PCBs and the like that help with voltage regulation, but for end users, it like, doesn't matter
there did used to be a time where there was big differences in the cards from manufacturers but that 90% went away with turing
Turing?
yeah Nvidia have strange names for their architectures pretty much
the same can't be said for the AMD side however, it is possible to get some serious differences in performance for 6000 series cards depending on the manufacturer due to how high it can clock
which is generally more expensive = better
Ye
Has EA stated anything about the specs are they still maintain their position about the ryzen 5 3600 being the minimum cpu ?
I don't see why they would change it, I mean pretty sure they didn't pull that out of their ass and are just saying that.
Usually there is a lot of testing before specs are released
Just a few days :D
Bestbuy drop in person tomorrow..30 mins away from my home and an hour from work. Question is do I trying calling them to see what kind of demand they had last 2 in store drops then go there for 7:30 am tommorow
i wish steam works in all of the older windows systems
i just got windows 98 onto a vm, set up my windows xp/7, but have no games available to play
why not
the specifications have stayed more or less the exact same
so unlikely theyll change
why not? because running older versions of windows provides loads of security issues and has to my knowledge, exactly 0 benefit over using windows 10. except for nostalgia
i like the look of it alot
wait whats its DCI-P3 coverage?
oh damn, i like the way you can rotate it up, down, left right
better then the raptors movement
thats pretty standard now
i wouldnt be happy if i spent that much and didnt get pivot
i would get one but the price it alot, i know i cant say much about monitor prices but if i could i would get something else to the ones i have rn
I only have a 96% DCI-P3 display
It gets really hard to get a 100% or close to 100% P3 display
@toxic wigeon You may be able to score a 5600X for $365 today, check out eBay Plus
Hey does anyone own here a R7 3700x, I just wanted to know what Is the best cooler to use. My rtp is usually 30-35° Celsius and I am using the nzxt H510i case.
https://business.currys.co.uk/catalogue/tv-entertainment/gaming/gaming-accessories/saitek-farm-simulator-controller/N216802W?cidp=Froogle&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwNWKBhDAARIsAJ8HkheXmQUib1JiH1VK9X1ZTn24LWN6Ex5IQI5mKtqUpJWYfTwPvcL87b8aAsE4EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds does anyone know if this Saitek wheel also works on ETS2 ? i was looking at the logitech G29 but its in the £200 range which for me is a big to much for me, does anyone also have any experience with the Saitek wheel ?
guess the bestbuy store number under the store for my state on the website was a lie
its a regional one..
are they not really the best of wheels ?
i have seen a few youtubers use it but i was just seeing if anyone here has any experience with it
it does look a bit cheap quality yeah
The pedals look so cheap, i doubt its got force feedback, the wheel is at a strange angle which would be unusable if you wanted to play a racing game. It has no flappy padles never mind a H shifter.
yeah im just gonna save for the G29, rather just buy it to be safe instead of wasting money/time on that saitek wheel
i used to have a G29 when i played on PS4 but i sold it when i was saving for a PC
It might be great for ets, but believe me you dont want to buy an entire wheel just for ets
You will want to play racing games too
yup
And for that it would be hopeless
I could get the new forza game if I wanted to, if I get a G29
I wouldn’t recommend air cooler. Possibly water cooler would be better. I used to live in the tropics and my room temp could reach 39C in summer. So, if I play games at that time in midday and either the CPU or GPU would more likely be thermal throttled, before increasing the room temp further to 43-45C+
Thanks, I'm going for Asus rog lc 240
There is no other solution to decrease room temp unless you switch on aircon. No worries
Any good liquid coolers u can suggest 240
I don’t unfortunately coz I don’t have an water cooler, since I moved to somewhere further south for a cooler climate
Nice
Try a noctua fan
But, in my recommendation, it is better to swap the air coolers to water
Heard those a good
Nah Bodie… it won’t work
Trust Me. My room temp used to be at that range
I can just stick a box fan and cool down
31-32C at night without AC, 34-35C without AC during midday
Sometimes 37-39C without my PC on. If I do, it will go beyond 40C+
Faaaaaaans
Oh. I did. I just mis read some things
Coz if he switch on his PC, his PC parts will more likely reach 70-80C+ by default
If he does gaming during day time
Corsair 240mm are good. Or nzxt kraken
Don’t worry. Water cooler won’t fix everything but at least the pc will be cooler to run, and increase the longevity
Faaaans
Since the pc fan intake would be mixed of hot ambient air and recycled exhausted hot air
You should try to play games at 45C temp outdoor with a camping bag
Then you will know fans won’t work at all
I believed the gaming PC will generate much more heat than that…
They do go up to 60c
No… I mean indoor temp
Thats my gpu in idle
What about the rog strix lc 240 is it any better than these or has the same performance
Hearing 60c idle has me concerned
That’s my GPU under load at 100% fan speed, but 3C hotter
Its the same just with an asus rog logo on it which makes it so expensive.
I had several xorsair ones and they did realy well
Coz my GPU only reach 55-57C since It has a really large heat sink
I do have a custom loop now for even more cooling
But that freaking logo is so sexy and I'm already obsessed with Asus rog products
The only things you need to care are “the pump wouldn’t be likely to stop working or it leaks” and the efficiency of the cooler
Btw is it normal for my cpu to be close to 60° at idle
Stock cooler?
Yeah the wraith one
60c with the the wraith is kinda hot...
The problem is that, the room is so hot and it heats up the cpu
Is it properly mounted?
You don’t understand…
I hope liquid cooler does make a difference in my small room
Coz it has a much higher ambient temp to start with
It is like, my MacBook will thermal throttle if I play BF1 higher than 28-29C
So it runs well, with extra 10-20 fps at 25C, with aircon on
The moment i play, my room temp gets hot as close to 38c
I dont have the ambient, but that changes ver quickly
Lol, that’s similar to my room temp without AC or pc on
In summer time.. dont even ask
Too expensive to leave on all the time
I dont need that
Actually… it isn’t costly to leave it on all the time
Either i can withstand the heat, or i dont play
It only be costly If you switch on and off frequently
You know the climate The city I live in is warmer than your area, but we don’t get the extreme high like you always do
We just don’t get the 30C increase or decrease in half a day during the heatwaves
I get stormwaves instead of heatwaves
This is what happened yesterday. So I guess the fans won’t works
So if the temp reached 25, this fan will be switch on automatically
Well… I have like 11 smart plug switches in Apple Home
Samsung smarthome here
I use mixed
I have the TP link and it isn’t compatible with Apple home
But I got a google home hub and I became too lazy to walk and switch off the plug these days
anyone think
could run off a 1660 for 1080p
cpu?
How about a 1050 on a laptop with core i7 9th gen?
not possible 1050 does not meet the minimum requirements

Depends how optimised your laptop is
Run it low/ stretched res, with no dogshit in the background, and boom
I’m sure you’ll play it
Okayy
mouse skates can be a huge upgrade depending on the stock pads, grip is ehhh
im all about the grip atm lol
never would have thought in my 20 years of PC gaming id go for griptape but it's been great at least for the time being... I got the stock griptape with the superlight and was like "dafuq you want me to do with this shit" but i tried it and dug it enough to get the lizardskin shit
the skates are Tiger ICE
mousepad is Fnatic Dash XL
ive tried hard mousepads and soft and the combo ive got right now feels so fucking good i had to share
yea i use the superlight grips in clicks just to stop it from getting greasy
yea that makes sense
also i grew up clawgrip so its like if im in the zone if my palm isn't guiding the movement my 2 fingers can move the mouse with zero effort so its nice when sniping
really want to try that Xtrfy mz1. wish it was wireless
I can't even claw to play mobile
i tried mobile CoD and felt like an asshole
but to each his own
idk how its not irritating to have your thumb over your field of view
that doesnt mean anything yes he could run it 1080p but at like medium 60 fps
of course
its almost like i dont give a fuck, they cant even use the internet
tbh it looks like 2042 will be pretty close to bf5 in terms of requiremtns, so if you can run bf5 you can run 2042 with like 10-20fps less
gotta get used to it
and you can modify the placement of your thumb in the settings
thats what i did
yeah it's a cross gen game, I'd expect the next next bf will be harder to run like from bf4 to bf1
yeah pretty much
Ayo lads i have thought about upgrading my pc to a 3060 or 3070 with either a ryzen 5 5600x or ryzen 7 5th gen x
Do you think its a smart move
( i have thought about mb, psu storage, ram etc)
uh, no, it means a whole lot, big surprise if you don't meet the minimum requirements of a game it doesn't boot
wtf that's not how it works at all
you know why it's called minimum specifications?
no the minimum hardware specs are there to tell you about the worst specs you can have whilst still offering a relatively confortable experience playing (like 60 fps low 1080p)
just because you have a gt 1030 doesn't mean that suddenly the game will not boot
uh no, it's the minimum requirements that you need to boot a game, have you ever tried running a game that you don't meet the requirements for? because I have, and there's a reason it doesn't boot
for example the minimum specs for bf5 are a 1050, but theres many benchmarks showing poeple playing bf5 with a gt 1030
no, it's not

the minimum is a 1050ti not a 1050 which is why I said they do not meet the minimum requirements
is 1070 still excepted today?
you're talking 2 different cards entirely of VRAM buffers
its still good for a 1440p card
= 2060 level, should perform satisfactory at 1080p
the only game i can barely play on a 1070 is cyberpunk
the game launches, but its not a comfortable experience
bottleneck somewhere else in the system?
no
whats your specs
i7 1070
what i7 gen?
bruh
how much ram ? in what configuration? at what speed?
it matters loads
bro im not even home
yes what's the part you're not taking into consideration? the fact the 1050 and the 1030 both have the same sized VRAM buffer, the 1050 and 1050ti do not - infact there is a 2x size difference between them
the game will not boot pure and simple
the video?
.
literally showing a gt 1030 playing bf5
that doesn't change anything to the fact the game still boots
isnt ram used for loading?
what loading?
uh, it changes literally a whole lot, you need memory to you know, adequately store the textures of a game
if it doesn't have enouph vram it will just use the system ram as vram but that still doesn't mean the game wont launch
..., you understand that if a game cannot allocate enough VRAM reserves before the game even activates its main menu it will not activate swapping, because there's no memory left on the main buffer to swap to?
loading into games
literally the video depicts the game launching whilst having a gt 1030 installed as a discreet graphics card
and I literally just told you why that doesn't work for this?
if you don't have enouph vram it uses your system ram so that the game doesn't crash
technically tru but ram does much more than this
no lol if you don't have enough VRAM on your GPU swapping is activated which uses your main memory in conjunction with your I/O as temporary storage with continuously loading in and out assets which is why performance tanks
i only have 4g of vram but doom eternal uses 6gb, so where does that magical 2 comes from? (btw there yt vids about this)
it does not use as VRAM whatsoever
because that's impossible
RAM and VRAM have entirely different levels of bandwidth speeds
yeah thx pretty much what i was saying in a dumber way
it's not, but ok
its just way slower
Nice
Do you guys think FSR will be implemented into bf2042 in the future?
90% likely DICE endorsed FSR with frostbite
Most likely
Ok
tech
Tech
And latency too when the gpu has to access it
I think someone is faster at running a marathon than that with the latency penalty involved with swapping
Is it worth upgrading from a ryzen 5 2600 to a 7 3200x
That would not be an upgrade
Also, Ryzen7 3200x doesn't exist
Unless you are almost paying nothing for the 2700x it doesn't seem worth it.
What would you consider a upgrade
Im in need because i the ryzen 5 3600 was in the minimun
I don't know your system, market situation, needs, economic situation etc. so is hard to say.
If I had a 2600 and wanted to look for a meaningful upgrade for 2042 I would look at the newer generations like a 3800XT or 5800X
Recommend is a 2700, so you may not need an upgrade. If you still want to upgrade. Go for it.
For the gpu i have a 1660, but i kinda have a low budget i want to spend around €300. And i dont know much about cpus
Also a 6600k was the minimun
1660 is fine for probably 1080p 60 fps low-medium settings
The beta is a great way to test your system before any upgrades.

I hope I do not have to upgrade after beta.
it's fine even if it's a slideshow it runs
This could sound stopid but is it posilbe that the release after the beta could run better then the beta it self
there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers
they can optimize performance from beta to full release but don't expect significant fps increase since it's near release and they want to provide gameplay close to full release
Ok thank you
There also could be certain hardware/software combinations that have issues with the beta which they can then fix before the release.
Yeah xP
Sorry for pings, I use reply feature too much
Nvidia DLSS in proton exp
For dx12 games
No worries
How about a Intel core I5 9400F and a RTX 2060 6BG, You guys think I can run it on med/high on 90+fps?
Noone knows fps yet
I'm guessing I'll get at least 200 fps, but hoping dlss will actually help and get it closer to 300.
But no idea until next week.
3090 1080p?
3080ti
I'm curious: why wouldn't you go for 1440p/4k with that card?
do you play competitive games mostly?
I have 1080, 1440, and 4k. I can switch it up when I want. 😀
aah I see
I thought about switching back from 1440p to 1080p honestly
buuut I think I wouldn't like it
I'm going to try it and see if higher fps and hz actually helps my gameplay, or not.
Yeah I often think more fps/hz would make me a better gamer especially when I grind Apex ranked but I guess I'm too old to judge and prefer eyecandy over frames
I tend to prefer eye candy too, but I think I'll be able to achieve both.
Probably not but we don’t know yet,
Medium yes ig
But bigger than that no
Thanks
you can run it 120fps at ultra 1080p
I surely hope so
1440p 240hz is the way
it's kinda weird but on bf5 with a 1650 super i get ultra ~90-100 fps stable
Another ultra settings user
I can barely run it on my dual core capped 30 fps 720p
fuck visibility, immersion is the stuff
well then I suppose you'd like to be killed in one shot by a pixel 459 meters away
thats very immersive
doubt
prob 140+ fps with dlss on
its gonna be hard to run
video settings?
i cant
wdym
iirc you cant completely turn it off, only put it on the lowest settings
you can turn it completely off. it requires some changes in files
for all the options that bfv gives, it surprising turning AA off isnt one of them
im not going to answer that question............
.
whaaaat
using google is faster and better than us doing a scuffed explanation
man the file in the video dont work
I personally prefer FXAA
i used google and yt and i didn't find the solution kiddo
Some aliased edges is much preferred to grass and foilage getting blurred whenever you move
And games really be using TAA and then sharpening it, waste of PC resources

cool
trying to look on the logitech website for wheels but for some reason nothing loads....10/10
witch one are you getting?
i dont even know, i cant even see the images or prices
Oh lol, i personally own a thrustmaster wheel. But the G29 is a great wheel
i will probably get the G29 but i want to see how much it is mainly from the logitech website
They are 249.99
@proud trellis G923 is the latest one. If you can find any G29 or G920 on sale that would be great
The G923 is an awesome wheel
I would get the PS version one if I have to, but it doesn’t matter since you would be using it for PC
Do you own a wheel Derek?
Currently waiting for a big sale on big Friday
Nah
Tempting to get one
Waiting for the big sale next month
Oh, good to hear. Welcome to the sim racing family haha 😃
Haha
Witch one are you planning to get?
Aww that's a shame
i have a g29 with the shifter add on
i never really liked sim racing...
So… $156 EURO
i love using the shifter just as much as the wheel it self tbh
the only thing close is my xbox 360 wheel + shifter
Yeah, its a great experience
in general the reviews werent great. and sure its a bit small but it adds so much more depth to the game
I will always go for the newer tech tho
Coz sometimes the games won’t even support the wheels
playing dirt rally 2.0 in vr with a g29 and a shifter in manual is amazing
I mean, the buttons won’t show up
I’m waiting for the G923 to be in stock, for $350AUD
my cheap wheel didnt get detected in games. it just showed up as an xbox 360 controller. so it required some remmaping but i never found a game it doesnt work with
its more down to the game than the wheel tho
I mean… some games won’t detect the wheels at all, I don’t like doing manual adjustments since their usual price are similar
I remember they have those on sale for $290 but ran out of stock very quickly, dropped down to $250 and sold out immediately across aus
the reason i say this is because i have a g29 and that is easily the most popular wheel atm. but yet still some games just dont utilise or dont even have key bindings by default for it
I can get a older model for $499 or the newer model for $350
Dirt rally 2.0 has bindings which are fine. but ETS has nothing
hence why i say it depends on the game rather than the wheel
ETS 2 is always a painful to work with
I think they have fixed it in G923
same as MSFS2020. thats a nightmare
Coz my friend bought two of those
I just use PS3 controller for ETS 2
Newer model to replace with older G920
Only wheel i have is older than usb
lmao
I think my oldest PC controller has a really weird slot
its 9 pin din i think?
I know the G923 is a very basic, gaming wheel
But that is the starting point where people should aim for the price point
512 aud for it here
is something wrong when i connect an xbox one controller to my pc while playing a game and is causing very strong lag
in stock though

Don’t know
I’m aiming to get it below $350
It will be excellent if it dropped below 300
would be nice
That would be around the same price as the older model
i want a new joystick as well, my current keeps having drift issues
But it's also like 13 years old
Usual design flaws
Unless you can replace it with the same part

You will need to do some more work to replace it tho
Hi guys, not sure where to ask this but i want to move from console gaming to pc. I understand building a pc is the more viable option?
i'm looking for a ball park figure for a build that can run bf/wow/new world at high to max settings. i already have a monitor so just looking for the pc itself
thanks
so i may be able to get a G29 tomorrow from argos but its coming to like 300 pound in total with everything and my parents aren't happy
Seems pretty expensive
i paid 250 with shifter included
the wheel itself is 270 and i have to get a shitfter
i got mine from currys
i looked on amazon and they were all in the 330's im pretty sure
also you say argos like anyone here knows what that is :P
i will look on currys one min
https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/gaming/console-gaming/controllers/logitech-driving-force-g29-playstation-pc-racing-wheel-pedals-10135572-pdt.html so this is 220 without a shifter, and the shifter is around 40 so it will come to 260 in total
its also out of stock
I think there is no “max settings” on PC. But i would say 1080p 144hz is basic for a modern day gaming pc
Wait for Black Friday sales
Oh right it’s almost Black Friday
for a price. in normal times (not mid shortage) id say 1000-1500 dollars is pretty swanky
dont go lower than 650 tho. it wont be better than a console at that price range. not unless you really bargin hunt
where else sells G29's
they are going to be stupid prices i can tell but worth the look
£263 on scan for the wheel and pedals
https://www.box.co.uk/Logitech-G-G29-Driving-Force-Racing-Whee_1827556.html ok box has a good deal on
Wait for Black Friday sales….
Why pay full price when you can get one for 2/3 or sometimes half the price
For the same item
when even is black friday
friday
Nov 26

i would rather just buy it in a week instead of wait for nov 26
i mean yeah. its not guaranteed that it will go on sale, its not guaranteed it will not go out of stock. 2 wait 2 months its kinda borderline worth it
Coz the sellers do changed their price before Black Friday
So most of the things I can find online are 10-30% more expensive than their usual price right now
So this is Australia I guess…
In the Netherlands they always jack the prices up a few months before BF and than lower it to the old price on the day itself
im to eager to buy one which is my issue, i have been wanting one for months now and i haven't really mentioned it
Few tech stores do that
i just found one for £250 pound, full set
on box but i might just try and wait till BF
teacup in #technology
whats your budget/whats your target framerate/whats your target resolution/anything particular that you want? (lots of ram/storage/rgb/small form factor)
note that rn gpu cost double their msrp so i either recommend getting a good prebuilt or buying a pc without a graphics card but with a good cpu with intergrated graphics so that you can have a decent experience in medium-requirement games to wait out the shortage
at least you can use the pc for something else than gaming, compared to a console
I mean you can do alot with a console
you could get a ps5 and a cheap laptop and get better performance in games compared to what a pc of the same price will give you
consoles had many things you could do other than gaming
i mean, consoles used to be able to do what most smart TVs can do nowadays, and there's a high chance you already have a smart TV built-in, or that you have our Chromecast dongle attached or whatever
with a console you can't actually compute anything
crunchyroll
not all tvs do have those things tho
the point is, console in most cases can't replace a computer because how unflexible it is. If your only use case for a computer is to play games then you'd be fine i guess with a console and a smartphone or a budget laptop but if you do more yyyeaaaah that's not gonna work
yeah thats pretty much what i meant
Pretty sure I'll get 200+ fps. We'll see in a few days.
On Ultra
No way
Way
2018 is not that old
now try and play Halo infinite Beta, you will get 70-90 fps with a 3080
newer games will be much harder to run
Well yes but saying you will be able to get 240 fps on ultra for bf2042 is just silly
even with a 3090
Nah, pretty sure I'll get 200+ fps
But it doesn't really matter. We'll be able to see in just a few days 😉
Look at New World
And I’m here like I’ll be happy with just getting 60 FPS lol
realistically you should be happy with 150 fps or so in the beta, because its a beta after all
Fried GPUs
i wouldnt be surprised if my 3080 gets me 100~ fps in bf2042
this game will be massive
But we shall see
I can't wait 🙂
I honeslty don't know what my 6700 will give
Ill probably go home and boot bfv to get a rough estimate
Never really paid attention to fps
Bfv is easy to run
Ok mr 3080
Jokes aside, if bfv runs good 2042 shouldnt be a problem
Reword: if bfv is easy to run, then 2042 shouldnt be much harder.
I hope so, I want to see high fps on ultrawide res
The only thing I see as being potentially "harder" on a system is the increase in players from 64 to 128.
I think it will be running on the same Forstbite engine.
Actually i think its a new one this year. But im not sure. Gotta look it up
Yeah, based on an article a lot of work was done on the frostbite engine for dynamic weather and levolution.
Awesome! HYPE!
Bigger maps, more items on the map, vehicles... physics, lots if things
YEah, sounds awesome
Maybe 2042 might be more optimized then bv5
I sure hope so
Because like wasn’t 5 pretty rushed
yes
Now that I noticed, bfv “recommended specs” is a damn rtx 2080
and the recommended specs now is a 3060, which is slower than the 2080
Oh nice!
I thought it was 1060 for bf5 for the recommended
Ohh i see now, that is for normal system and them the 2080 is the recommended system specs for dxr
And idk what dxr means
ray tracing?
DXR = DirectX Raytracing
Ah
then we might be a little fucked here lol
because the 3060 is way more powerful than 1060
Yeah but if we lower settings a little bit might not be to bad
That’s prob for like everything on ultra or something
Or at least I hope so
Four more days . . . hype
For the wd bf2042 deal, if I assume ypu have to have not used the game code 9f you want to return the ssd
Hello there. Im having an issue with BFV. 10 minutes into the game I get ,,Lost connection to the session,, screen and get disconnected. Happens almost every game. I tried flushing dns, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling the game, running it as admin. None of these helped. I have ping 10 on speedtest.net and ingame ping 29. my download and upload speed is 30mbps. Looked for help on the internet but i didnt find much. If anyone could help, please send direct message. I would be grateful, many thanks
Hi guys I have a 3070Ti and I keep getting battlefield 4 Direct X errors can someone please help
what errors?
It says direct X error I’m not sure I was running battlefield fine at ultra settings
what is the error?
the detailed description?
Guys I just bought a new graphics card for 350 usd
The seller told me it can do 120fps at 1080p
What card is it?
that seems like a wise use of money
It says GT 730
nice bait
Wdym
Damn really?
Well shit
I'm just messing with you guys I bought one but for like 30 bucks secondhand
nice
xd i was just pretending to be a moron
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mhxhVc my pc is worth way more than then when i built it i built it for 1300 (gpu i paid a friend for)
Used PC components do not usually go up in value...
Depends on market with pandemic bs yes lol bec most stuff is hard to get pre pandemic no but it only loses 2 to 300
I don't know why my man is 1660 ti but still lagging
still i can sell my pc used on market place ebay for more than what i paid to build it cause of inflation\
That's not real value though, it's hystery and inflation, and it's typically for new components.
Anything currently selling in this market is the exception, not the rule.
pc part picker gets their prices from amazon and new egg for yes new components and when you resell you sell for less then listed new like when i built my pc brand new i paid 1300 because parts were cheaper with inflation parts are worth more so back then i would sell my sell pc for 1k but because parts prices go up i can charge more and still be under "new prices" and selling it for more then what i paid hence inflations
and people will pay my price still because its cheaper then new and they dont know what i paid
Without punctuation, not sure what much of you just typed says to be honest. In the end, your stuff isn't really worth what you think it is at the moment. You might catch lucky sells to unlucky consumers, but the market will correct this mess at some point.
So if you think you can get a sell off, probably best to do it now.
ok So because of inflation, I can sell my pc rn for upwards to 3k used because market went up. versus pre pandemic when i built it i could only sell it for 1k. meaning with market being up rn i built mine for 1.3k and can sell it for 2.5 and get more then what i paid to build it. All because of inflation which makes my pc worth more
It's not worth more though, it's just response to an inflated rate. Inflation =/= value; it is an indication of the movement. And market value versus customer value versus commercial value, etc. are all different things. The worth of the component is actually less than when you paid for it, but because of market response to supply/demand, the price can increase accordingly. So while you might garner a higher price in the market on a sale, it does not mean that component was worth more than it actually is (essentially, the consumer bought it at a loss).
Anyways, that's getting into economics and whatnot. I get what you're saying, but just want to convey the lack of correlation in the terms used.
Speaking on tech and money, this came up in my feed earlier today: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-10-02/big-tech-s-stock-market-leadership-is-threatened-by-rising-rates
No need to pretend, I think you are a natural.
I got two gpus at MSRP last month.
If you want, join EVGA elite. That way you can get a super when they are out.
Does it cost anything?
Its FREE.
my pc recently has been randomly freezing up and then after a minute whatever i wanted to happen will happen. like if i open steam and something else too quickly together everything will stop for a minute then happen all at once, could this be an issue with my ssd or would it be cpu? i think its cpu personally but the disk usage light on the case is solid when it happens? idk i just wanted to get some other opinions on this before i spend a ton of money
i also get random "memory management issue" bluescreens when playing games like minecraft so it might be a cpu thing
ik this channel isnt techsupport, i just wanted to ask. sorry.
u have watched too much porn
i have literally never done that, let alone on my pc
so u have done it on other devices I see
Quit being weird.
This is no place for that kind of discussion.
Read the rules.
Don't need a sorry, just fix it.
It is from a movie and it's not encouraging or demanding others (especially minors here) to partake. It is fine.
@prime jasper Any other questions, take it to ModMail please. Thank you.
Thats probably ram related
gotcha
yeah i figured
this whole pc apart from the gpu is coming up on 5 years old
might just have to replace the whole thing
There are a number of things it could be--anything from hardware, to OS, to malware, etc. that could be bogging it down. Off-hand, sounds like memory and/or swap space issue. Is the BSOD related to this one? https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/windows-stop-code-memory-management-bsod/
yeah thats the one
There are some troubleshooting steps in there that are easy-to-follow that you should try.
ty
Yup, best of luck.
yea thats probably y tbh
never had a anything like a laptop or a actual PC
so I cant help
im too broke
to afford one
ig i cant put it off any longer, ill just start saving for one
im trying to get a new job so hopefully it shouldnt take too long to get it
i got a ps4, i can play on it but most of my games are on pc as well as all the people i play with
my ps4 sucks
if I try loading bf2042 its probably gonna become a plane engine and fly out my window and explode
do you use an HDD for your drive?
ssd
ok nvm
and the ssd is only like a year and a half old so i dont think its like dying on me this soon
I see
THIS is an EXACT problem I have with the freezing when I open steam, origin and other launchers but my pc has only blue screened once and it was months ago
I think mine is a corrupt OS install more then anything or a piece of hardware has come loose when my pc was being shipped but Idk if my pc would turn on if I had a piece of hardware loose
I also think it’s my CPU because I have noticed after it freezes my CPU usage will bounce up to 100% for a few seconds and then return back to normal
hello guys, do you think devs include AVX in this game or not?
Which game?
BF 2042
if i am able to play with BF V i am able to play also with BF 2042. i have i7 980x first gen (no support for AVX), 24 gb ram ddr3 and rtx 2060.
You probably wont even be able to run the game
upgrade that cpu mate
really
hope my rx570 can run bf 2042 at least low 60+ fps
Im pretty sure it should
How's different between Window COA and window OEM? Which one should I buy?
Both of them can install and activate only one PC and can't transfer to other pc.
Pairing i7 first gen with 2060 seems painful
extreme bottleneck
90% most likely a XMP related issue dropping the clock speed will probably alleviate the issue
whichever one is cheaper it doesn't really matter the key will be tied to your Microsoft account, so all you need to do is relogin for the activation to take place
just make sure the key isn't stolen or is a corporate provided key as it will most likely end up deactivated after a set period of time
second note in that if it's for windows 10 or 11, windows 7/8/8.1 keys can be used for activation
Tbf Microsoft doesn't do anything that'd actually impact your workflow if you simply don't activate it. And let's be clear, I don't endorse piracy or using not legitimate keys, it's just that the only downsides of using inactivated Windows (10 at least) is lack of customization options and that half-transparent watermark you can easily disable. With that, I don't think it's financially justified to pay for it.
you're not actually correct, certain features within windows will cease functioning entirely, it can and will hinder your workflow if you're dependent at all on some mild tools that it offers
Oh, that's new. I wasn't aware of that. What particular features do you have in mind?
they are admittedly specialist tools, specifically related to things such as VM's and other dependencies, hence the average user will not come across it
generally enterprise/pro related tools, people on home will never see them, put it that way
Hmmm, then I think my point stands still. Unless other circumstances which would require use of these specialized features occur, it's pretty difficult to justify buying a Windows license. And those are probably mostly used by companies/public authorities anyway, and they will almost always buy those keys in bulk for lower prices.
companies and organisations generally buy them from Microsoft directly not because of a discount but because it's required through windows TOS, those are the big targets Microsoft make a lot of money from, they only generally offer discounts for external tools such as office which come in a separate license
I've been daily driving Linux for years now and only use Windows 10 install for games, but last time I checked tho I could use some pro features such as BitLocker on inactivated install
bitlocker isn't one of those tools that is impacted, well, for now
is it true that the 1050 ti is better than 1060?
it remains to be seen whether windows 11 will mandate activation for storing the TPM key that bitlocker depends on to the account
i've seen someone say so
got it, thanks
absolutely not
do you have the 3 or 6gb version
6gb
generally impacted tools are things such as hyper-v isolation and core, with things like RBS and CDA connections hence your average user is probably not even aware of the existence of these tools to begin with @modern patio
which is why they are not going to be impacted (probably)
bfv runs mostly at 80-100 fps for me in medium settings if that helps
it isn't in Microsoft's interest to totally lock out the user from the OS for not activating it, they get their money elsewhere from them using it
Well TIL, thanks for that context
np
complicated equation between usage vs profit mainly, as much as MS would prefer every user buy a key they know that's not going to happen, the majority will which means there isn't really a need to force every user to
winrar is a similar example, actually kind of identical
https://www.razer.com/ca-en/streaming-capture-cards/razer-ripsaw-x 4k stream for a great looking game.
Nice! The manufacturer I use already has this functionality, but nice to see Razer come out with a universal solution.
Yes they do that lots sell some idea to other companies so they are not making all the mistakes with new hardware share the blame. Make money then sell your own version.
I think their main goal with Windows might be to gain the biggest userbase possible and then take advantage from providing services such as Office or OneDrive, and that may be more profitable for them than forcing everyone to buy Windows key. I mean, they allowed free upgrade to W10 for a really long time, possibly it's even still possible to convert your W8 key to W10 somehow.
that's not required windows already has the biggest userbase possible, Microsoft have for over a decade at this point, free upgrades are still possible as windows 8 was seen as a massive failure which is why Microsoft would prefer it never existed, the aero design language was received poorly and why they want people to move on, mainly
in regards to office and OneDrive, OneDrive serves 2 functions, one as a cloud provider and second as a integration for windows itself, by Microsoft tying in OneDrive into windows itself it means people are forced to use it to some degree to synchronise settings, keys, whatever, and thus become used to it as an idea for perhaps paying for it separately
office is slightly different in that it's ubiquity > profit, which is why office 365 is integrated into education, corporate environments and what not to promote daily users to take out their own subscriptions as it's seen as reliable
different products for target categories

https://www.asus.com/us/Networking-IoT-Servers/AIoT-Industrial-Solutions/Tinker-Board-Series/Tinker-Board/ best YouTube streaming version.
Is there an advantage to that board vs. a RaspberryPi?
Well it used more natural resources and has room to sell items that run hotter.
anyone know why my logitech g402 mouse causes me to have huge fps drops?
uhh
umm
does it crash?
does it crash?
Or just not open
damn
is ur storage full
hmmm
do u have multiple tabs open?
ight
uhhh
try deleting it and re downloading it
first report the problem
the game might also be down
I dont have a pc so idk
PS4
what the hell
reduce your polling rate
Razer v3 mini. Thoughts? I want a wireless 65%. Not many choices..
Gtx 3080 enough for battlefield 2042
Hmm
CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2697 V4 2.3GHz GPU: NVIDIA Tesla P40 24GB VRAM MEM: 15GB (16 but 1 is reserved for host) OS: Windows Server 2012 64
yes ancient technology
Sorry I meant rtx 3080
Hilarious troll
Try repairing the game
I have a gtx 1060 and my bfv runs at about 90 100fps low
But i noticed that it eats my cpu more than gpu
It is cpu intensive. 2042 should be even more cpu intensive.
oh no, my poor cpu
it already gets too hot in bfv
What are your temps? And what cpu?
i9 10850k 75-80C when AC is off
should not be that high
thats impossible lol
unless with a very good custom loop
Waterloop 🙂
around 50-60 should be the highest it gets
ah there we go
i have an air cooler and get 45C max
Nice
240mm rad, paired with a 3080 in a meshify C
should have gotten a bigger case :(
Nice, what cpu?
i5 9600k oc to 5.0ghz
damn i really want to get a better case and aio
but i just spend $100 on bf2042 sooooo
yeah... xD
no way
Yeah, my intel ran cooler too 🙂
amd is way to go now
well i got my 10850k for $300
Yep, runs hotter, but the way to go is AMD
Its all good. If you are happy with it, its great
I just hoped my temps were lower really
It gets uncomfortably hot
I dont like seeing 75+ C
:c
is your fan placement setup correctly, you could have a negative air flow
2 intake 3 exhaust, meshify C cant fit more
So your cpu is on air, right? What is your ambient temp? Which cooler do you have, can you put a separate fan on it?
i got 3 intake and 2 exhaust
h100i platinum aio, 240mm
ambient temps are kinda hot lately, 25-32C
OH, you have an aio, and your temps are that high?
Yeap :c
