I ask this because I know many people that run games at 20fps and think it's peak performance
ignorance is bliss
if I had 20 fps on a game when I was 7 years old, I wouldnt give a fuck
it would still be peak performance to me
some of soviet wombles old videos from like 7-10 years ago when he was playing day-z and such, i could feel him losing frames even through a phone
like well below 30 fps
but he didnt give a fuck, still built a massive channel from that
last year a friend of mine asked me for advice when he was picking parts for his pc and he ignored my suggestions because he thought it was too pricey so he got a gt1030 instead and says it's a godlike machine
¯_(ツ)_/¯
you should show him how your 590 performs in comparison and see if he still thinks its a god like machine :P
and then explain to him a real god like machine would probably get 4x even that
he cant tell the difference in frame rates
just like most normies
so idk if i can blame him
saying a gt 1030 is godlike is like saying mcdonalds is peak gourmet food
yeah idk why the less you know the lesd you feel
if he is enjoying his rig. let him be happy i guess.
I can feel the difference between 60 and 55 really easily
some of my friends just dont give a shit
i generally will look up at my fps counter if i drop below 60
i'd say it's more related to experience rather than knowledge. I explained this to him but if he rarely plays videogames at all he wont pay attention to this and wont be able to tell the difference. The ability to tell different frame rates apart is trained, it varies from person to person
anything above 60 i can play with
really fast paced shooters i struggle with anything below 80.
in multiplayer games I cant stand anything below 70 tbh
or shooters
but msfs2020 ill happily play that game with 20 fps
because everything on the screen moves so slowly
it looks just like a screenshot most of the time
In rdr2 45-60 fps is perfectly fine to me
i was playing bf1 yesterday and it was around 120fps so I limited it to 60 because i got a 60hz monitor anyways but when I did, it had some little drops like to 58 and it was so annoying i had to put it back to 120
but try telling this to any normal person
they will think youre paranoid
you should get a 144hz monitor
nah my pc isnt strong enough to reach 144 in most games
a rx 590 will be bottlenecked by a 1080p60 monitor
sometimes Im genuinely worried when some of my friends play on my pc even tho theres nothing to worry about
you can do gametime.maxvariablefps to 62 and it helps a lot of the kids for the same reason
it will limit you to 62 fps or 65 what ever number you put in
also i want to stay in ignorance because I always hear you dont want to go back to 60hz after trying 144hz or 120hz, and if I want to remain in such big frame rate, I must update my pc soon and hardware is ridiculously overpriced here so the last thing I want to feel is like I'm lacking hardware power
I hqve a 1650 super but I hardly play any games these days but I got 70-80 fps on high in bf5 and it was fine to me
hmm true ture
I guess well for me would be around 50-60fps and i do have a i5 7500
well is 60+ fps to me in fps games
you can also put it in as a launch command so it does it automatically everytime you start the game
and what gpu do you have?
oh thats neat ty
Gtx 1070 8vram
yeah thats enough
Oh cool
eeerm, im not sure about that actually
remember, we dont know how the game will run
but i'd bet it'd run the game to a playable degree
im not sure it will get 60 fps with that cpu.
a 4 core 4 thread cpu would struggle to reach 60 fps in bfv i believe, so in 2042 id say you have no chance
lets see
at least my old 7400 was pinned at 100% usage and was getting 40 fps

you can clear up a lot of cpu usage turning down post processing to medium or low. The custom is the way to go.

lets see another video
for example when he is outside D, i bet money if he was to go into D there they would drop to 30-40 fps
and even with that he is still hitting 100% cpu usage
i was gonna say it's on ultra settings but i think thats more gpu intensive than cpu

this aslso doesnt look like a super populated server
but it rarely goes below 60, if ever
i really dont think his pc will run bf2042 at 30fps
i dont know if it will reach a steady 60
but he said he'd be ok with 40 or 50
and i think thats a possibility
we will have to wait and see
my guess is that the cpu load is going to be huge in this game, bfv will be nothing in comparison
I’ll honestly even take 30 just to play until I can eventually upgrade
I wouldn't worry that much
this is only a gut feeling but I really think your pc will run the game at like from 45 to 65fps
speaking of which
I really should've gotten the 3600 instead of the 8400
i was an idiot back then
didnt know much about ryzen
Hella hope your right about that lol
we have all made mistakes like that.
if there's anything I'd upgrade first it'd be the cpu. Your gpu still holds up for 60fps in general id say
hell. i originally started with a pretty bad prebuilt. and like a year later my ram died, so me still not knowing much about computers..
i saw that it had 2133mhz ram,
and i thought that meant it HAD to be that speed, the price between the speeds was basically the same. so i could have gotten 3200mhz ram for the same price.
but no, i brought 2133.
yikes
and then, not too long ago, it died again, i got an RMA from amazon and they offered me either a refund or a replacement
at this point in time i knew a lot more about computers and understood what the speeds and stuff meant
and i could have asked for a refund and spent that money on higher speed stuff for the same price again...
free upgrade right!?
but no! i chose the replacement option, it wasnt until like a few weeks later i realised what i had done.
and im still stuck with 2133mhz ram to this day!
oof

what cpu you got?
2600
nice
another mistake i did was getting the rx590 instead of the 1660 or 1660 super. The later were more expensive but the 590 consumes a lot more
I couldve gotten a 1660super and a 500w psu instead of a 600w one
and the price would have been similar
and idk I just trust nvidia more when it comes to gpus. I had many problems with amd vcards before
one died, then the other came faulty
now that you say that.
i got a slower gpu for more money also
i got a 2070 instead of 5700xt
I’m getting a 3060 ti tomorrow, would anyone give me an advice if I should get it or not?
uuuh
At 1440p you'll have the least bottle neck
mhz
I have a 1080p 144hz monitor
eh youre good
depends on what you want
like
if you personally prefer higher resolution
than higher frame rate
then go for 1440p
i personally prefer frame rate
I’ve never seen any resolution higher than 1080 with my own eyes
I do prefer framerate too
i personally dont care about resolutions higher than 1080p when it comes to regular desktop pc gaming
i will only seek 1440 or 4k if it's a tv
a bigger screen
then stay with your monitor
This sounds so good

i always asked what a mechanical kb feels like and everyone always says "bro you will understand when you put your hands on one"
i tried one last week
it felt just like a regular kb
it also sucks that most mechanic kb lack numpad and some even lack all the f keys
probably just tried a crappy kb
^
the worst keyboard feel is membranes that type to mimic the feel of mechanical, followed by super mushy membranes, followed by decent office membranes or laptop keyboard, followed by mechanical
i have tried plenty of GaMiNg membrane keyboards that try to mimic the feel of mechanical switches, and they dont feel nearly as nice as a generic microsoft office keyboard
i wanted to get a mechanical kb but they are super expensive
my current kb has half of its keys buried down, feels like a digital kb at this point, it responds by just the touch
but since mechanical are so expensive i just ordered one that is supposedly a decent membrane type
it was 1500 pesos versus 13000 pesos
no way tbh ngl imho js
Yeah, I do understand it in your situation with everything highly overpriced
dont ask me how much that is in usd cause idek at this point
probably 9usd versus 72usd
google says 15 vs 133
ah yes i included our taxes
but i guess i shouldnt in this case
like, we get taxed when buying usd
so its more like 1usd = 180 pesos for us
ah gotcha
but for the outside or for comparison sake its more like 1usd = 100 i think?
not sure
102
just checked
I think for normal typing in an office they're fine. Certainly not for competive gaming although something like a sim (e.g. Cities: Skylines, The Sims 4, Flight Simulator, etc.) it makes sense.
i dont see the advantage of an expensive keyboard for gaming tbh
as an expensive keyboard user i mean.
ive got mine for the typing experience, not the gaming aspect
The Logitech Pro X with Romer Tactile switches I have is actually a solid upgrade for me in terms of FPS' over a membrane low-profile from HP I use for typing.
It was money well spent IMO.
when my current keyboard breaks i think i might try to build my own keyboard
thats a good idea if i didnt just buy new one i would too
now that is something wonder what CPU it has 😆
!!specs
Currently there are no official PC specifications released by DICE for the full release of Battlefield 2042.
hmm it doesnt say any rumours are fake now or whatever it was
!specs
Rip
The specs for the bf2042 full game (not playtest edition) has never been confirmed, released or revealed by DICE/EA.
I was the one that suggested that we changed the specs command. As the specs for the small technical test were out the notion that all specs out there were rumors would be wrong. We however still don't know what system requirements for the open beta or the full release will be. The changed wording is just to reflect that fact.
We spent MONTHS evaluating Gigabyte's GP-P750GM & GP-P850GM power supplies to determine why so many users reported DOAs, failures, and "exploding" MOSFETs.

Wtf
isn't there a larger supply now that the crypto market in china collapsed?
yes, but the demand is still very high
though the prices are going lower over time now
crypto currencies are getting higher again anyway
A lot of the gfx cards got shipped to other countries where they can continue mining
Gigabyte has been cheaping out on components for years
Have a gigabyte motherboard and GPU, both have problems of their own
mine works just fine
Their 3000 series is not bad now
Mainly gigabyte gaming oc and vision oc, as their decently priced options
Msi ventus/mech lineup is a complete disaster this generation
Worse cards and components than founders editions
Also, their x570 aorus lineup is also pretty good
Even the cheapest aorus elite has overkill vrm, and the best capabilities in that price class
guys can you tell me if this list is good?
my budget is 1000usd
i have a 1tb m.2 laying around with 32 gb of ram that will go in this build
(the 8gb are for my old build)
im getting an rtx 3060 ti along with it
Stick with evga, just get a better rating
Youre fine with 600w, altho i would go for 650 or 700w, if you plan on upgrading your gpu in the near future
If not, then 600w is perfectly fine
But get at least a gold rating
They shouldnt be too much expensive
Evga, corsair, seasonic
All good brands
You wont go wrong with either of them
Corsair is pretty much seasonic, I'm pretty sure seasonic is still an OEM brand for corsair psus
https://www.velocitymicro.com/images/upload/80plusratings.jpg
Higher ratings like gold, platinium, titanium = more efficient PSU, to gain more efficiency you pretty much have to use better components, better components usually means more stable power = components lasting longer, overclocks and general operation have a higher chance of being stable
i see
Lower efficiency PSUs are bing phased out as many countries now have begun demanding it to save power.
maybe this should get pinned
yeah
Gold rating is the mininum rating now
Pretty much every psu manufacturer makes gold as their standard now
Correction
Reputable psu manufacturers
Do we discuss PSUs a lot in here? 😄
what monitor are you getting
get two modules of 8gb ram each, not 4. Look after a total of 16, not 8
8 will bottleneck your computer
and that PSU is good enough, it's not cheap
my case doesnt support an aio over the top
but the guy actually managed to put it there
the tubes touch my gpu is that bad?
hmm im not sure what you mean, im having a hard time picturing it in my head
I've seen this before in some building videos so I assume it's not terrible. However, I would personally avoid it
You can use a small wire to attach the tube to some part of the case
i think hes saying the case doesnt say it supports a radiator on top mount, but they got it to work
i know thats what he says but idk how like, if its not supported, then how
just drill new holes
lol
i assume it doesnt support it because of clearance issues with the motherboards heat spreaders
but if he has small heat speaders that wouldnt be an issue
yes
@storm osprey
sent a dm
my tubes touch my gpu, its been like that for like 10 months now, no problems
idle?
he lives in a very warm place
he has talked about how it's 40c in his very room
how did it use to be before this new cooler in idle @atomic jackal ?
was it also 50 and something?
40c inside?!
try it in a demanding game
it was going up to 62 degrees on bios
so definitely an improvement
this is his room apparently
speaking of coolers, I ended up buying a se903 for my sister's i7 3770 which was reaching 88c in cpu demanding games. Now the temp in the same games dont go above 56c. What was weird is that the thing didn't fit in perfectly in the motherboard. If I were to put it as intended, I would have broken a transistor, so I had to put the dissipator horizontally, with the fan aiming below instead of on a side. It still is a massive improvement though. I thought it would warm up the gpu but it doesnt, or maybe it does but only by 1c if even
try it in game
pls
i wanna know
do you have msi afterburner
yes i do
should i also do a cinebench?
i dont see why you should
just see how it functions in the activities that you often perform
I used to play games at 36-38C indoor temp @storm osprey
This is the temp chart of my old bedroom without aircon on and without me playing games
yea
hardware limits its performance when it hits very high temps in order to not die
how high are your temps now?
and my gpu is actually utilizing itself now
thats way too hot.
%80 use
was you not dripping with sweat?
Gaming at 35C temp is unbearable. Anywhere higher than that would makes me wanna quit gaming
what
I was sweating a lot when it was 35
i HATE playing games with even clammy palms
ah you mean 35 in your room
sweaty palms is the worst
on bf 1 is 60-63°C at %60-50
thats amazing
my fan blows right across my desk to cool my hands down
I think it can go as high as 41C with my desktop on
man im so happy i got an aio
Coz the problem is that, the room temp won’t go below 30c during summer. I moved out to another city and my parents sold the house
Located in the valley. Meaning there is no sea or land breezes. The new house in the hill side suburbs makes it a few degrees cooler tho.
im glad i dont have to deal with that
im glad i get like 5 days a year where it goes above 30c
I moved to another city As you know
i much prefer the cold than the warm. i can cope with the cold much better
it usually is above 30c in my room like 20 days a year i think
The highest temp recorded in my city is only 44C
Yeah. It was 41-42C a year before
ive had 40 once i think
So the higher the indoor temp, the slower your laptops will be
I remember the days I need to switch on aircon in order to play bf1
just the same as the higher my depression the slower my performance at work hahahah am i right
whwre is the chat button on bf1?
it's J
if you want everyone to see what you type

I have a question for yall
suppose I created an application, some light software that detects your hardware and compares it to all other hardwares that have been released and also tells you beforehand at what frame rate your computer will run many titles in specific resolutions before you download and try them
along with some small tips about temperature and ram suggestion and whatnot
would you find that useful or absolutely useless
Think that already exists
Oh it's without the tips but for FPS it already exists
Ohhhh
coolio
there goes the only idea i had for a software to create
what does "performance percentile" mean?
is there anything yall would want to have that is similar to this but doesnt exist?
a userbenchmark that isnt corrupt
one test that runs on everything and gives you a simple metric to tell you how your hardware is performing
speed
Don't think that really matters because if you can run something like CoD Coldwar than I would say you can run 99% of the games
dunno don't care lol
Yeah was gonna say that, pretty much benchmarks
I literally typed in how many fps hardware in google and this was the first thing to pop up
71? i doubt
hey @fallen harbor make an accurate version of what nacho links
lol
/s
100 fps on high for far cry 3 with 2560 yet double on 1920 wtf
i would like to attempt to create a software that gives some more daily good use, kind of like msi afterburner and rivatunner but something else
but i cant think of anything
both of those things are very complicated to make.
something like this website would actually be very simple but time consuming to build the database required
I think sites like this are dumb anyway
It gives you a general idea what your set up yields though
its best to just go on youtube and search "i5 10400f 3060ti bfv 1080p"
At least
that will almost always give you a result
exactly
Also you get what you pay for
anyone uses the windows app for netflix? do you get stutters?
i use it, its shit :P and yes i sometimes get stutters
its so much worse than the browser version.
it seems they stopped updating it like 10 years ago, the ui is so much more dated
i had to use it since browser version didnt work
it was fine for me
not the best but works
yeah i use it because the quality seems to be much better than on the browser version
but some days its just stuttering a lot
any nerds that can help me? My game won't launch and my profsafe files apparently doesn't exist, but repairing the game doesn't work??? (bfv)

sooo... any follow up on this? a source? evidence? anything
You can search on YouTube
@runic valve @plucky token so yea today i finally was able to upgrade my "place"
wha

but thats short term memory loss for ya
i can't find anything like that on youtube
head injuries are fun
shet
why tell me to search if you think it exists there? just link me @arctic crag
anything at all
i asked that mod for further evidence a day ago with no response
@runic valve so you wanna see the new one and the old one?
not really
Powg
It’s not hard you know?
Also this one is the most important
nah
i just searched those videos and not one word about inability to post
so where did you get them?
by what metric did you find videos saying a certain driver caused a PC to be unable to post?
I literally typed the driver version
What? Give me a sec i think there is a misunderstanding here
yeah you just can't read
Shit i thought you were talking about stability /system crash, etc sorry
yep
so anyway the mod never provided any evidence
just dropped a ridiculous claim with no source
mom dad pls dont fight
anybody knows the specifications of the ps5 processor?
´´´PS5's CPU is a custom chip with 8 Zen 2 cores running at 3.5Ghz(variable), all equipped with hyperthreading that totals it up to a logical 16 cores. The GPU is the latest RDNA2 based Navi chip that has 36 Compute Units, all running at 2.23 GHz.´´´
3.5
isnt that a weird choice
sounds like its slow
but what do i know
dont games require more single core performance than core amount
hmmm
found a G502 it seems in tarkov
they made it dark because they are ashamed of their mouse
sorry, who are you ?
oh
i am your superior
lies
everyone is your superior
eh
this is a pretty killer deal rn, even for a used pc.
considering a 3090 alone will set you back 2000-2500 pounds new.
plus the rest of the high end specs,
hell yea, even if ventus isnt that good
i would buy that, just to sell the 3090 and make all my money back
and then get like a 3080 if they are cheaper and then basically just have spent 1K on a beast computer
Which is the BEST RTX 3080 card? This is a roundup of EVERY RTX 3080, and in this buyer's guide I compare the cards' power limits which affect the performance the most, the VRM current capability and quality which affects overclocking potential, as well as the cooler's cooling capability. I fried my brain compiling the data so please share this ...
Which manufacturer has the worst lineup?
MSI
With my eyes closed
Asus,Gigabyte and Evga are good you won’t go wrong with any of them
uhhh probably asus
they really killed it with the TUF lineup
wait, i was backwards
Asus is really good their strix is the best in 3000 series
zotac, msi, and gigabyte have a few duds
MSI use lower quality components than the FE
Asus use expensive components that’s why you see their prices higher than others
well tuf was one of the few msrp aftermarket cards for a while
Asus tuf in 3000 series is a brilliant
even though last i checked you cant get them anymore and are replaced by the tuf oc which is still some 50 dollars more than msrp and well worth it
Has anyone experienced an issue with an rtx card?
For some reason water is green instead of blue..
what are you talking about?
I bought a 3070 then I launched bf1, the water is neon green color
oooo in game your colors are off?
Everything is fine except water
Seems like a water texture bug
The maintenance team are replacing my card with a new one
Its not a gpu issue
Only in bf1?Do you have any problems in other games?
No chance
its weird its only water though
I guess it has something to do with ray tracing?
Might be some weird SSR bug
But I haven’t even enabled it
You downloaded the game yourself from origin right?
Yeah
Big pools of water in bf5 arent ray traced
Im pretty sure
They just use SSR for reflections
Small water surfaces on roads and such
I recommend doing a clean install of driver
Already did
It's a software issue most likely
Install a different version
Nvidia issue?
What version are you using?
no, regular windows 10 uninstaller
Driver version
Do it through DDU
DDU completely removes all files for drivers
There could be some files left in the registry
That windows uninstaller doesn't delete
Should I completely format the pc?
If you don’t know ddu is display driver unistaller we use it to completely remove gpu driver files in case of something wrong
Ddu is great cuz it deletes every file regarding to drivers
Yeah I know but I always uninstall my drivers using windows
From registries and residual files
That doesn’t remove everything
anyways the pc is at the maintenance office
Also don’t download the same driver version you’re using rn
What version are you using?
Other than bf1 and bfv is everything alright?
I’m not really an expert but maybe it’s the monitor itself?
Yep
Which battlefield is better for my specs? bad company 2 or battlefield 4, im looking towards campaign more
Intel Core i3-7100U CPU
4gb ram
64-bit
yeah i know my pc isnt the best
considering they dont have a gpu...
Yeah, i know. im playing on an asus laptop and i dont even know if it can open up
meh, the iGPU on that 7100 isn't half bad
yes you can
if you have an screwdriver
just look for your model, to find any restrictions in terms of RAM
i doubt it will run even singleplayer at 720p 30fps low settings
nah, it'll run BF4 with no issue
like, I've played it on older iGPUs
you'd play it at 1366x768, at around 30fps
IF
people said bad company was better than bf4, but bad company looks kinda weird from gameplay
you get more ram
http://www.UltrabookGaming.com
Testing Battlefield 4 running on Intel HD 620 graphics on an Intel Core i3-7100U 'Kaby Lake' processor, in a Dell Inspiron 15-5567 laptop.
The game was tested at 1366x768 on medium detail settings . Frame rates were typically in the 25-40fps range, and performance could be improved further by lowering the detail ...
im surprised it gets 30 fps at 720p low mp
not surprising, you can do so on older iGPUs
with that being said, I isnsist on you buying both RAM and an SSD
does your PC has a CD writer?
nope
which model is it
from what i know it dosent. maybe it does im just blind
let me check the model
@arctic crag I have the latest geforce game ready driver
yes
DDU
so im just gonna install an old one?
im THAT guy that will just reformat/clean install everything
461.92
No
He is a dude I found on #other-games
the model is X541UVK
I just repaired and updated battlefront 2
i'll try that first before going back to old driver
watching the internals on it
youre talking ddu, and im talking about clean install everything. idk whats no about that
Good luck mate
it has a CD writer
you can replace it for a caddy bay
and install an SSD on the actual HDD spot
moving that one to the caddy bay
A fresh install of windows is last to thing to recommend
its really not that bad
Also a fresh install of windows won’t fix everything
all in all, that'll cost you around $200
it'll fix this issue, as he basically gets a new registry
nopes, but it is the "do all" troubleshoot
So right now should i get bad company 2 or bf4
right now, both will run awfully
This dude for example he has the latest driver installed and we know how Nvidia fuck drivers up sometimes so installing a new windows wouldn’t really help
and the issue is neither the processor, nor the iGPU
it's the RAM
4GB shouldn't be an option for laptops, since at least 6 years ago
8GB is the new minimum IMO
right, but like i said i dont mess with ddu, i just do clean installs
DDU isn't risky
ngl but I hate your pfp
first time ive heard that
Maybe the problem is just simple I personally use a new windows as the last solution
its not that drastic
You have the balls for installing a new windows
you have to spend what? an hour getting things back to normal outside of redownloading your games
also back in the early W8-8.1 days, you could end up losing your license
well now thats account bound
at least W10 made that change
@storm osprey Garfield wanna be
its just an orange cat
Is geforce 920mx good for battlefield once i upgrade my ram?
First off, I don’t have to provide you evidence of anything. Secondly, never saw your original demand, but I’d not normally have provided a response if I had to something dripping with attitude like that. Thirdly, this was in reference to a personal experience with that latest driver set which for three (3) days didn’t allow a proper post of the OS until it could be rolled back using a bit of trickery.
920mx? it's okayish
It seems to work so far, Thanks mate!
That gpu is not good enough for bfv sadly
And certainly wont be for 2042
i wanna play like bf4 or bf bad company 2, not the newer ones beacuse they would obviously not run
Anyone running a MSI MEG Z390 ACE here?
On bf4 you can get a stuttery 720p medium settings
Also dont upgrade your ram, you are just wasting money
Its like fitting a spoiler to a 1940s jeep.
Sure it can help modern high performance cars, but its not going to help in your situation.
Pffft
RGB would help a 1940 jeep
It will take increase the speed by 25%
And control by 50%
Sure mod. My attitude definitely was unwarranted when people are just dropping comments like "the most popular driver on Earth can cause your machine to not post correctly"
Very appropriate behavior from a mod
200% accurate
Seems legit. 😁
Looks like there will be a different glasses type for steam deck
Regular one and anti glare one
And this is just from Linus early version
anti glare only on most expensive model
considering what the neogeo or whatever the other handheld could do
(iirc roughly half of what the steam deck does)
I pre-ordered the 256GB version
you would
not sure if i'm gonna get it though
why is that?
I pre-ordered because it gives me some time to think about it
Like if I want it at the end of the year I can still have it in Q1
Probably if I would pre-order it now I would be getting it way later in Q2 or Q3
if i didnt have a switch i would totally get one
but im trying to get some paintball gear
How does it feel to play super smash bros
I really want to play it but no way it’s coming to pc
last time i tried to play WIRED, it was shit
na west, gigabyte internet, wired connection, and it was laggy as fuck
offline its great though
you smash bros
Yeah super smash bros was an old version I just got used to the name don’t mind me

Anyone know which is better for PS5, the Sony Pulse 3D headset or the Platinum headset?
damn
really lucky
Been looking for a 3070 or 3080 (preferably 80) for a few months
kinda need one soon
im building a pc and i disabled legacy mode before installing windows because im stupid and now i cant enter the bios or install anything on it. Anybody knows how to re-enable legacy mode without having to buy a ps2 keyboard?
nvm
removed the battery and it worked
i already have a curved msi 144hz 1080p monitor
its for my old build
what?
i already have 32gb 3200mhz laying around
I gotta say, it's a really fucking good deal
even the most expensive one is worth it
due to the fact that you can play all of your owned steam games already
Switch seems like overpriced garbage now lol
i only got a 70ti cuz it was cheaper than 70, i guess my region is importing more 70ti's than regular 70s
and 80 was too much expensive compared to a 70ti
and now im properly ready for 2042
Congrats!
yeah
Which one did you get?
altho the gpu is dumping a lot of heat XDDD
palit 3070ti
basically i got a 360 rad on top, and its pulling all that hot air from the gpu
and its hitting the bottom of my desk, and heating my legs xDD
Yeah, I have 2 x 360 rads
i definitely need to play around with the fans
its an AIO for the cpu
but yeah
my legs are toasty while playing bf5 xD
😄
i also need to replace my front 3 fans
they came with the case, and they are ehh
also they start to whine when at like 70% speed
Ugh! I like quiet fans, even at highish rpm
the one that i got for the exhaust is great
super quiet, and at double the rpm
than those front fans
Do you plan on putting a waterblock on the 3070ti?
Gotcha 😉
i also need to get a new monitor as well
I hear you, I just upgraded my monitor after many years
nice
hm
might not be the greatest idea overclocking my gpu
i dont want even more heat now
xDDD
You "could" , but I'd rather not.
Nice! I'm usually around 170fps in BFV, but I think my cpu is the bottleneck
i didnt look at average without ray tracing
but i'd assume it would be something along those lines
i oc'd memory to 2000mhz effective
ill see how much i can push the core
I'm hoping to hit 300fps in BF2042, but we'll see. I may need to upgrade my cpu.
but yea, i dont think ill be running any oc when its already so hot where i live xD
i got really bamboozled when i felt all that heat on my legs xD
I live in a hot place, but I crank the AC
yeah, i need to put ac in my room as well
Lets see if i can have a stable 21gbps memory and over 2000mhz on the core
It's been close to 100F/38C here lately, but typically 74F/23C inside
Yeah
Very hot here as well
Okay
The game doesn't like that oc
I'm lagging hard
XDD
I have 4333 memory, but bad timings. I'll be upgrading slowly in the next couple months.
Or maybe wait for next gen
I got 4000 mhx ram
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Nice
Hmm, i should try without ray tracing
Absolutely, higher fps
Yep
And its not like bf5s ray tracing implementation is the greatest
Huh
In dx11 mode
Gpu utilization is only 60%
And i got the same fps
Guess I'll have to try dx12 mode then
Yes DX12
You may also want to enable Resizable Bar:
https://forums.evga.com/Enable-Resizable-Bar-on-EVGA-GeForce-RTX-30-Series-m3248555.aspx
Ugh, and I just remebered you don't have an EVGA . . .
with DX12?
Very nice!
Okay
Even more
I had about 100 fps average
I'm at like 130 average now
Same map
Fjell
👍
With my 1660ti DX12 is the mode I have to use because my GPU sits at 67% utilisation in DX11 no matter what :/
That's a ridiculous amount of extra FPS
5600x is amazinf
Yep
Im like holy shit wtf
Literally had 100 fps average in dx11 mode
Crazy gains
Ray tracing didn't even reduce fps that much
Definitely had above 100 fps average with ray tracing on
And i need to check if i have ReBAR on
Prob not
Didn't go on bios when i installed the gpu
That's what I keep hearing
its so good
about 65% utilization in bf5
i no longer have a cpu bottleneck in bf5 😄
my 6600k was maxed out
I'll also need to test if i get more fps without an oc, or with oc
I prob get more, cuz i got all 6 cores at 4.6ghz
While without oc or with pbo, only one core would boost up higher

me with 30 to 25 in bf1 with 720p after seeing this chat be like :
jesus fuck
you running this on an intel pentium or what?
core i3 4170T 3.2
r5m330 2 gb vram
4 gb ram
will upgrade to 12
i have a ps4 but i got bf1 for free
its a low end ik dont roast me 🙂
oof
nah Im not, I dont have a high end system either
1650 ti
Is there a way to reduce bottleneck percentage?
Im getting bottlenecked with 3070 and r5 3600
cpu bottleneck?
Cpu
what resolution are you on
1080
I can’t afford a 1440p
After spending $800 on the gpu only
yeah I guess and its a decent brand
3 fan overclocked
aside from buying a new cpu you can't really do much
5600x?
Only bottleneck really is the amount of VRAM
The bottleneck isn’t very noticeable but its there
Getting around 150fps on bfv ultra settings
Ray tracing enabled 120 fps
you can turn up the resolution scale to increase gpu usage
if you don't want it to be a cpu bottleneck
yeah but its pointless
it will increase gpu usage but the fps will stay the same or decrease
yeah
so basically you are just making the gpu run hotter for no reason.
is that supposed to be a problem?
i mean supersampling does look better
you wont tell the difference anyway even if the fps is higher
and if you buy a brand new monitor, the bottleneck will be reduced giving more or less the same fps at 1440p so its not rly a problem
same with upscaling
So upscaling fixes the problem?
its not really a problem but you can supersample without affecting fps
more or less, the game'll look prettier with about the same fps
and its not a problem btw
may as well use the full power of the gpu
Alrighty thank you
Holy shit there’s an impostor among us he’s playing warzone!
Hey guys, would you think 3060 (maybe the ti version), i7 11700f and 16 gb 3200mHz ram would be enough to play BF2042 smoothly at 1080p? Planning to buy those components. Right now i have a 1070 with i5 7500 and 16 gb 2400mHz ram.
also in ultra, that would be NIIIICE
then ill problably buy that too
its funnt that the ti version has 4 gb less vram
funny
than the original 3060
Yes, you can run resizable BAR if you have a GPU from EVGA. It might help a bit, not a ton.
Ultra settings are almost never worth using
True
are you talking about competitive advantage? or just no difference between medium and ultra settings?
Both
yeah ok
There is not much difference between high and ultra most of the time
And ultra just eats frames
I get same fps running Ultra, medium, low
But its more of a CPU bottleneck for me atm.
my 1070 atm is too strong... my i5 7500 cant handle it xD
but anyway, is there even a big difference between a 3 fan graphic card and 2 fan graphic card?
because the 3060 ti im looking at right now has 2 cooling fans where the 3060 has 3
if you want a card with 3 fans... just get a 3060 with 3 fans
there will be single dual and triple fan models of every card
whaaaaaaaat
"Should" be better cooling. But it doesn't really matter. My GPU for the past 10 years have had zero fans. 🙂
but anyway. generally a triple fan card will perform better yes.
i found 3060 ti with 1 fan
it's oem
go brrr
lol
Look for something in your budget that has what you want. I prefer quiet and lower temps.
yeah 4c4t cpus are really starting to struggle now. the 7500 has decent single core performance but it struggles in modern games just because of a lack of threads
when those parts launched, it would have been a good pairing. but now as times have progressed and games are needing more multithreaded cpu's, the 7500 just cant keep up.
you can easily bump that cpu down to a 10400f or an 11400f
exactly i can really feel it when i play battlefield or just games with more than 60 players on a server
good value
it's clocked at a higher speed
bfv performs awfully on 4t cpus
quad core CPU has been around for a really long time
theyre good value
Yeah, but the website where im buying the pc is only allowing me to buy a i5 11400f or the i7 11700f.
prebuilt?
yup
i5
bruh make sure they give you dual channel ram
sometimes prebuilt machines are cheaper. HOWEVER, you have to look at if it has any potentials for part upgrade
they generally cheap out on that and it boosts preformance by like 30%
it can be way more expensive sometimes
Just dont buy from Dell/alienware
i reckon dell has NO upgrade potentials (coz of their silly design)
;)
and ACER has a really bad reputations, especially in quality control
Just watch out for non standard parts
How do i make sure its dual channel ram?
it should say in the description
like... 16GB of ram (2x8GB)
look for 16gb (2x8gb)
ask them with tech support
oh im fucking stupid xD
rather than 16gb (1x16gb)
or look at pictures
dont.
they often dont use the right pc in pictures
they will use one of their higher end pc's
^
lmao yes recalls amazon prebuits
