i have a boulies chair its ok but theres better out there i didnt have money to spend on a office chair but soon i will get a herman miller
Cheap ebay gaming chairs are terrible. They are just ploying kids to buy them
But decent chairs like secret lab, noblechairs etc. They are very good
frick that, its all about staples mesh chairs
But do not buy a gaming chair cuz ItS dEsIgNeD fOr GaMInG
I have a gaming chair, but I won it so price to performance is unbeatable :p
i have a chair off of amazon
it was like 80 pound
secret labs chairs are pricey
lol
Just sayin
i would get one but my parents will be like "well its just the same as chairs off of amazon"
Ahhh that makes me rage so much
My parents understood that i sat in my chair litterally all day when lockdown started and they understand how important it is to have a good chair for that so they were fine with me spending more
its the exact same with when my computer broke and it had to get sent back. they was like "well why cant u just get this cheaper computer dont follow all your friends and get the same computer as them" bear in mind the computer they saw was like 200 pound so...its not running anything.
annoys me alot
People who aren't into tech just don't get stuff like that
When I showed my dad my setup he was like: What the hell, why do you need all of this? Me: Games
My dad took my old chair for his side of the office. Since he doesnt spend more than an hour at a time
my nan always says " they both look the same its just that one is more expensive" "they both do the same thing"
But a few weeks ago he was sat for about 3 hours and he said exactly this " im not supprised you got that chair"
lol
And is now gonna get the same chair as me at some point
the chair i have rn isnt even that bad, but the material is starting to peel off and its peeling right under my legs and its irritating them because i mainly wear shorts
but it will be months before i can get a decent chair
they do the same thing, but not to the same level
Reminds me that I still need a new chair
I ordered a second hand HM Aeron a while ago but the company couldn't deliver it
i dont know what chair to even get though, most of the good ones are in the 300-400's by the looks of it
yes they are
Yep
but you can get office chairs for cheaper. but do your research on which ones are good
because a lot of them are just as bad if not worse than gaming chairs
my old chair was an office chair, and it was like 75 pound i think? and the amount of discomfort that chair caused me is immeasurable
i would get a chair in the 300-400's zone happily but its my parents that are stopping me from doing so
damn, those are supposed to be damn good too
did you get a good price?
if you just google "why shouldnt i get a cheap chair" there will probably be loads of articles that explain it in detail
Yeah, it was 500 euro or something like that but they couldn't deliver it
I have this ROG PG27V monitor gsync
thing is though anything else i ask to get thats not in the "gaming" zone they are fine with to buy......so strange
I can overlock it to 165
Is there any downsides to overlock the monitor for +15% faster refresh rate
hot damn
iirc monitors are more prone to defects when overclocking
personally, it doesnt sound worth it to me
is there issues with g-sync when overclocking ?
doesnt OCing a monitor cause ghosting too?
Yep it does
causes colors fuk up
idk, i'll play and check if i notice anything
Not always but it happens
When I oced mine there also showed up bunch of small green dots
165 / 144 = +15%
i doubt adaptive sync ranges will change with an OC
some gain
I'm playing Battlefield Heroes
12/13 year old game by now
I wounder if low latency mode is better left at disabled or enabled
400 euros
Worth it
Is the general consensus that 1440p 240hz is the current sweet spot right now ?
240hz seems a bit too much
It's better to spend a bit more on stuff you use everyday than buying something cheap and regretting it.
144hz been around for a while now
360hz is too much
@stray needle 2 train of thoughts imo, if you want "competitive gaming"/240hz, you go 1080p
if you want clearer picture, you got 1440p/144hz
1440p/240 is just too expensive to really suggest
Yeah but to benefit fullest of that 360hz monitor, one need relatively new hardware and gpu
exactly my thoughts
depends on the game, settings, resolution etc
Asus price is at around 990 euro for 1440p 240hz
yea thats absurd
I have 1440p 144hz
and those cost what? 300-400 now?
144hz is fine?
Now trying a slight overclock that can be enabled in the menu
144hz starting to get somewhat aged
144hz is more than enough for gaming if you dont attend tournaments or competitions
I mean as higher options are available, 144hz started to age
which you probably dont
There are way more to a monitor than resolution and hz. Nits brightness, panel type, GTG times, ghosting characteristics, HDR capability, color accuracy, is it factory calibrated etc. etc. etc.
unless i was playing for money, i woudlnt go over 144hz
most people still use 60hz
yeah exactly
believe it or not
this is coming from someone that HAS played for money
60hz is common
a monitor can have 500hz and be horrible
because people arent obsessed with numbers
yea but for gaming res/hz are the 2 biggest factors assuming other qualities arent detrimental
people have this if it ain't broke don't fix it attitude
yeah but sometimes it get too far
ehh thats not really my approach though, like i said, i wouldnt consider 200+hz unless i was playing for money
how is this relevant to justifying 240hz for normal gaming though
we got off track
the gains from 144 to 244 are pretty negligible
still noticeable i've heard from reviews
iirc the response times from 60hz to 144hz cut it in half
from 144hz to 244hz was like 15% better
the gain from 240 to 360 is hardly noticeable
im certain almost any gamer would notice the difference, is it worth the price? for 95% of gamers i would say no
I did a bad choise. I opted for this 1080p 360hz instead of 1440p 240hz
I can sell it however
depends what you want
i sit further back when i game, so i really wanted 27", so i "had" to get 1440p
One way to simulate the feel of a 240hz monitor is simply by reducing hz to 240 from 360
I just installed my new GPU and monitor. I'd like to try out nVidia Reflex in BF2042 on a 360hz monitor.
My conclusion is that the less overall view of a 1080p make the extra smoothness cancel each other out
I'm mulling over going to a 1440p 240hz
yeah, you won't regret it. 360hz is for pros only like e-sport
i cant justify nearly double the price increase going from 1440/144 to 1440/240 personally
for the casual gamer. 360hz is not worth it as it is now
Thanks. I'll try 165hz for a bit now and report back if i notice anything strange
240hz isn't worth it either for the casual gamer.
Suggestions on 1440/144hz+ monitors?
price range?
this is the one ive kept my eye on
so now for settings i have everything on low/off except for mesh wich is on ultra, texture quality: ultra, texture filtering ultra and high fidelity objects count on ultra
is thAT good or bad
Step 1. Check the Twitch website. The website says it is the standard edition.
Step 2. Go to a store and see what the standard edition contains
https://www.origin.com/dnk/en-us/store/battlefield/battlefield-1/offer-selection
oh
i kinda want the revelation edition
but i already have the standard
so wouldnt that conflict with each other
Premium pass and revolution costs the same, below 5 euro. You can do both, wouldn't matter.
under $500
that sounds good for me for a mix of competitive settings and eye candy
considering bfv doesnt have a ranked mode, i personally want some eye candy
I just run everything ultra, no RTX, 1440p locked at 144FPS. Perhaps not competitive but it's pretty and smooth so its fine.
yeah
nope, premium in itself costs the same as the full game plus premium on steam
but i already have the standard edition rn
Nice!
Out of curiosity, the 240hz is currently about the same price. Not sure what nano IPS vs HD IPS is, but would you still go with the 144hz?
standard game + season pass is the same as the revolution edition so what I said was correct
yeah they're the same but not the same price at least for me that is
I linked Origin store so I'm talking Origin store. Steam might be different.
would it cause a conflict between a standard version and revelation if i also buy from steam? i heard a guy tell the same thing
I have not tried the steam starting Origin thing. I prefer my games to only need their native client if possible so if a game doesn't only need Steam I would rather just have it where it was born to be.
Mobile gaming be like
All those vibrations just to have the computer in a place it is not needed, what a fun but terrible idea 😄
Well most parts don't get too hurt by vibrations but
They decided to water cool it
Which doesn't sound great when biking
1 wrong drop of rain could fry the unprotected power supply
extra wear and tear on the ball bearing in all the fans
gulping in the water cooling
bugs flying into the exposed radiator
Yeah
cables etc. coming loose
CPU mounting systems are not built for vibrations like that
PR stunt, besides that a disaster of an idea 😄
You can tie a computer to a lot of things and call it "the worlds first computer X"
Worlds first Computer M16
Worlds first Computer sous vide machine
possibilities are endless
Pretty sure the 240 would be 1080p
After seeing that new trailer, here's to hoping my 2080s still holds up.
ofc it will
Well see. Still no official specs 😕. But will it be enough for 1440p lol.
gigabyte M27Q
scroll up 😉
Steve needs this kind of a bike
still funny though
on a mountain bike
no
Currently there are no official PC specifications released by DICE for Battlefield 2042.
Any specs floating around the internet are just assumptions or rumors.
@storm osprey can you ping me when there are any computer reqs
i highly doubt i remember to do that
im sure it will get posted in #game-news , which you can sign up for notification in #220326362077069323 @prime jasper
how much more input lag does ffr give?
like is it worth it to keep it on cuz it significantly augments fps
thank you
Very very little
I cant feel the difference
so do i mount my gpu fans facing up or down
Guys will the game have rt and dlss?
fans facing down, away from the processor
and i have to fill all the pin slots right
since some gpus have 8 pin and a 6 pin
so i connect them both right
Yes
Be gentle on your gpu it’s like you are holding a woman
so what if my gpu has 2 8 pin slots, but my psu has only one 8 pin?
What psu you got?
If it needs 2x8 pin and you have one it wont work
i have the cooler master mwe650w bronze and an asus tuf gaming 3060
i didnt get it yet
You need 8+6
for my card?
Yes
Because some gpus require 6 pin only and others 8+6
what are the other peripheral connectors and stuff for?
you can only mount it facing down
mouse with fan built in
comfortable
Uh that is wicked cool.
literally
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/680928395399266314/868244593655824475/video1-3.mp4
I think I know why gpus are so expensive rn
That.. makes me want to cry.
ok
ffs another useless piece of technology and waste of resources
this is literally innovation
Are you serious rn?
never
i could actually use that. my hands get so sweaty
see, innovation
youre a lizard people thats why
Nah lol i use air conditioner most of the day it’s like winter in my room
you dont ever get gamer sweats?
I mean in long run yeah but not much
youre not gaming hard enough
Ye
I get gamer sweats all the time. It's horrible hahaha
do i have an innovative mouse for you
Mouse material also plays a role
Which controller are ya using
Elite series 2
thats when you know youre gamin
Are you gym guy?
honestly gaming is the only time i like really drip with sweat
i dont really get it. i think it might have something to do with AC
when i was on vacation the hotel had a gym, and on the treadmill there i would sling sweat off my forehead. despite it being a cool room. but i could go for a run outside in the heat and i would barely sweat at all
you ran out of sweat
and im the same with gaming, when i have my AC on i have like drops of sweat
That’s weird
only time i sweat when playing games is when im last alive on something and i have to try and win us the round
yeah i shake when that happens
puts me under pressure
and it really is annoying in shooters
Cod mw 2 I can relate
i like shiver. and it really messes with your aim
when i hear someone outside in tarkov i just freeze and my heart starts racing
and then they end up coming from behind me because the audio is shit in the game
It's so bad lol.
I want to get new grips.
on my old mouse im pretty sure my grips come off because my hands were getting to hot or something
Man, my anxiety flares up so bad when that happens.
Sometimes I clutch, most times I don't.
Lol
All the time?or in specific season?
pretty much daily because at the time i was playing R6 alot and i used to get really hot when last alive and put under pressure
Any competitive shooter, it happens to me.
MMOs, though.. not at all haha.
lol
Yeah normal
the grips just slid off at one point and then i just didnt use them and it was a horrible mouse to use
it used to irritate my finger
when the grips were took off
What was that mouse?
Steelseries?
it was a razer mamba
Razer is shit
the grips were glued on so im not suprised they fell off
looked like some shitty glue they used
I like Logitech equipment.
i have a logitech mouse now
Man of culture
Another man of culture
My first gaming headset ever was a Logitech
hope it lasts me a long time
i mainly used to use turtle beach when i was on console for headsets
Mine was 5$ Chinese one lol
they was like the main company i would use
Turtle Beach headsets aren't built to last.
i dont use them at all now
After a month of solid use, taking them on/off, the plastic above the ear muff broke.
Right now I’m using high quality studio headphones
Had the entire right ear hanging.
mins ended up cracking half the time
Headsets suck
the whole headset would just crack in half
I would recommend getting a good quality headphones and mic better than headset
^
I need to get another RIG.
i dont use a headset anymore i have seperate equipment
RIGs are GREAT.
razer viper mini is easily the best budget mouse out though
especially at its sale 20-30 dollar price
fifine k669b + headphones will cost you like 80 pounds and will be better mic and audio quality compared to any headset of the same price. for sure
I perfer audio technica m50x
fifine is a mic
yes
Oh
ehhh, i mean an XLR mic would probably be better, but require more equipment
yea you can
one of my friends tried to get me to go for the blue snowball but it just seems like it would get in my face for some reason
you can get a whole XLR set up for 90 bucks iirc
you can get a mic and interface for 50 bucks ?
and such budget equipment would be better than the k669b?
you can get a mic
yeah but an XLR mic without an interface is a paper weight
i dididiidididiidsif
I want to also get back into streaming. Maybe when I'm not working 60 hour weeks I can get back into it... some of these suggestions are very insightful.
im saayyyinnng. you can get a MIC for 50 bucks. but that doesnt count
my point is the k669b is the best mic setup for under 50 bucks. and no xlr setup will cost less than 50 bucks. end of
yanno corsair powersupplies are made by seasonic right?
yes
My question is which is better because both are priced the same
@supple bane there used to be a shure mic and behringer audio interface combo that was like.. 70 bucks
i cant find it anymore =[
im not very good with psus, but i imagine that they are both very good
i would default to seasonic since i trust that brand in general
which is a rare statement
looking at psu tier list, the corsasir rmx has certain years that are apparently good and other that arent
They say rmx 2018-2020 is good older model is garbage
top tier is 2015 and 2018
Oh
idk if theres a way to tell what year your psu came from before purchasing
seasonic still falls in the same tier, there just minor issues or lack of info
Focus gx the 2020 model of focus plus
the psu you are looking at is focus gx?
Yes
oh, well thats in the same tier without any problems
i should have looked at getting a better powersupply. but honestly its lasted me this long, im probably only a year or two from a fat upgrade anyway so. meh.
yea i had a shit psu that is now in my friends build thats still going strong
its a corsair psu so its at least a reputable brand
actually i have a few shit psus in other peoples builds now
but its an OLD vs550,
My old mobo got burnied because i bought a cheap ass chinese psu
ive actually kinda been planning out my next build already
even though its like a year or more away
i had a evga supernova for 5 years, the fan started clicking, got a new supernova g3 as a replacement
Oh warranty?
Or you bought one
That’s really nice
pretty sure most seasonic psus come with a 10 year warranty as well
Evga support has the best support out of any brand afaik
Gpus, motherboards, powersupplies, anything
It is
Actually i’m asus fanboy
my cpu cooler has a 7 year warrenty
i heard asus support is shit though
why are cpu cooler warrentys so long
Yes garbage
lol
unlikely to fail
Not as bad as gigabyte support
ive only dealt with razer and evga support
My gigabyte gpu had a fan rattle issue. I asked and they told me to download gpu z and send logs

Mm yes, logs on a physical problem
My friend broke his gpu fan while cleaning that was in 2017 he had a gtx 1070 he contacted Asus and they said you will be charged 230$
i dont think razer support is very good
i only contacted them once though
lol
It was a fan blade mate
they do, its just commonly they charge more than its worth
they are the poster boy for slapping "gamerfied" on their products and charging 20% more for it
hell the only time in recent memory they provided a product better than its price was the recent tuf gpus
Yeah
Asus strix gpus are the best
The lowest temps for a normal cooling
Then we have water cooling
Lowest temp is "best" when it comes to a card
what about boooooooosting
Power delivery, max power limit, quietness, max boost all are just as important
I saw a strix water cooled rtx 3080 ti temps were like 52c max lol
But it costs 3000$ so…
yea but like... how much was it and how much more fps did you get?
I got 20% fps boost because it has rgb
only if the color is red
I’m 100% sure it was designed for rich people
Red is often the rgb color that uses the least power so that leaves more power to the graphics than other colors
Retail? Or scalper prices
Msrp is 2200$ but you can’t find it lower than 3000$
anyone know a good headset

My triple fan zotac 3080ti overclocked does 63c max and undervolted does 54c with 70% fan curve (cant hear it) Room temp is 70f or 21c. Memory temps are only 10c higher.
will 2042 have fidelityfx super resolution?
probably in the future
rn, they're partnered with nvidia for dlss 2.0
Battlefield isn't exclusive to Nvidia by any means
hope so for the sake of my 1070
really want over 100fps
dont care about graphics
if you can run BFV fine with that GPU
then you can definitely with the next one
with 100 fps very unlikely
when did they say its a new engine? ea play?
razer blackshark v2X
I’ll check it out
definitely not worth it
fixing a fan on a gpu is actually really simple
plenty of tutorials online on how to do it
it has a reasonable price (50usd). good base and sound , good noice canceling, feels premium and comfortable, has a pretty good build quality
It is a new engine
no way its new engine
They are adding more destruction, more fidelity, smoke effects are larger as you could see in the sand storm, tornado. The increase of players alone is asking for a more powerful engine.
Its just newer version of frostbite
wat
where did they say that
i just wanna know where
new engine is like saying they are using unreal now
^
yes you can say its upgraded
but if its an entirely new engine like u said @prime jasper
then thats a different result
No way bf4-bfv frostbite can run 128 players smoothly and render tornados with vehicle physics
And sync it
assuming it is smooth tho
Hopefully not cyberpunk launch

They prob worked on it for a while
even if they rewrote major part of frostbite its still the same engine
eh
thats the thing we should be worried about
launch unable to hold in 128 player servers
i have pretty much one of the strongest single pc gaming setups money can buy right now and I expect to lose 60-80 fps from what i get on bfv
which is already not really that great
but i guess way better than what other people have
I dont see why people would lose 80 fps
Unless they completely screwed optimization
double the players, the game is literally never optimized, its DICE, they'll find a way
dont worry
bf4 is one the best looking games for its age
oh uyou are talking about BF4?
And runs on todays standard potato gpu
yea
BF4 runs insane. I have to cap my fps to 500 lol
3090 + 5950x + custom ram timings + stripped OS
lol
i have a nasa pc because I need it
isnt bf4 capped at 200 fps anyway
the default engine cap is 200
you can disable that with gametime.maxvariablefps 0 in the console
that uncaps FPS
you can set a custom FPS limit as well
thinking about it i should check out 4k downsampling
u play @ 4k?
Ah, well I'm super sweaty so I just run all low settings for max fps and shit
lmao
i turn everything up on singleplayer games tho
BRUH
what lol
where'd you get the money man!
work
oh
and I got the parts through luck
yes of course work.
time to work my ass off for an RTX 3070 Ti I promised myself to get at the end of the year.
acquire the bread
Yea he bought the blades from eBay for 30$ and fixed it himself
I have some on twitter i think
link link
Does he not know enders is a twitch partner
not everyone knows who I am
lol
in fact, basically nobody does considering BF has been dead the past 3 years
don't bother there's an imperceptible increase in quality you're basically just wasting GPU power
especially if you're gaming at 1080p, which I assume you are.
i notice the difference on metro exodus
i play 1440p
but sometimes i scale up the resolution
well you just answered your own question
playing 4k on a 1080p monitor is kind of a waste
mm
4k gaming is literally just marketing
but playing 4k on 1440p makes it look pretty good
Everyone will either way play on low 1080p for max fps
yeah
it depends on what game though
Fps games
playing at 4k on a 1440p monitor will look the exact same as playing on 1440p
any improvement is just placebo
the monitor only has so many pixels. it cant just magically create more pixels to make it look better
wtf?

Do i have to make a new windows after installing a new ram?
no
Ok nice
does anyone know why my frames drop and stutter when playing bfv these are my specs
AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
GTX 1660 S
970 samsung evo plus 1 tb
16 gb DDR4 ram 3200mhz
What settings are you running?
i changed my settings to play at 1080p and then to limit fps at 60, i was running the low mode or whatever its called
what are the recommended settings i should be turning on/off
Does these drops happen only in bfv?
yeah only bfv
Make sure future frame rendering is on
It’s in game settings
Video setting to be specific
is your ram in single channel?
wym
future frame rendering on? i thought that wasnt a preferred thing @arctic crag
It will cause a little bit of input lag
But you will see some good performance increase
Lol
You guys lmao
did you ever use 30 inch 4k
I guarantee you 4k is liKe 5 times cleaner than 1080p
It can
its called better accuracy
or rather estimation
if game doesnt have good aa(which very most of games dont) 4 times display native res forces the best aa
Doesnt work out as well as 1080p to 4k tho
display doesnt just ignore more pixels
Its so imperceptible that it worked for me on every game i ran it on lol
meh. i can see where you are coming from but i dont think that will improve quality
Im not arguing with anyone thats just facts how supersampling works
Unless cleaner pixels arent better quality
1440 to 4k can be sketchy ofc
Depends on game
I see
So you’re telling us you’re a rich dude having enough money to buy 4K monitor 30inches
if you consider msrp prices of 30xx its not even that hard anymore to run games at 4k
anyone know why im only getting 20- 40 fps on battlefield 1 , ive just installed it. ive got an i5 3470, 12gb ram, and a gtx 1050 ti. so over the minimum requierments
is there an app where i can convert my bf sens to other games
Uh idk about battlefield
ok
You can google
I remember there are some calculators where you put the value
And then try it for other games
Like cs go
OK thanks @arctic crag
ordered a new mouse pad
logitech g440. ive never tried a hard mousepad before so. its an experiment
i probably could have gotten one that was cheaper but, im already invested in the logitech ecosystem so may as well go all the way with it
Yes
i had a little hard mousepad when i first got pc and it was alright
well it comes tomorrow so i look forward to giving it a try
i heard something about them wearing the skates down on your mouse. a photo provided showed a mouse that had rounded skates, and they had clearly been warn down. but the g502 is flat so i dont think it will matter to much
That's a great website! Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome
Good call on his behalf
Just type:
gametime.maxvariablefps 0
to get max fps?
I just installed my new GPU and Monitor.
That uncaps the FPS
Great, thanks
guys how do i get over the fear of the possibility of me breaking my gpu, a very expensive one at that
im just so scared id damage it via trying to mount it
you would have to do something VERY stupid to break a gpu installing it
Hold it gently like you’re holding a woman
by the way, do psus have like a switch to turn on before booting the pc?
Ummmm error data not found
Yeah
ive seen some videos where the guy switches a button or something before booting the pc
my psu is an "adaptable" one so im worried id choose the wrong voltage or something while trying to turn it on
it should say "on/off" on the button though, i hope
Don’t worry it’s hard to mess that switch
Have it short between two reference clock pins and die
Which my 2080 did
Big black area around the pins
Between ref + and -
Pin 13 and 14 I think? Forgot
Well not during install but didn't last long in use
Hello , looking for a new computer to get in the next year, should I buy an old prebuilt with an i7 or get a brand new prebuilt with an i3
Budget is £600
Well , my budget is quite small, so an i3 10th gen or an i7 7th gen or older, no older than a 3rd gen tho
Can’t afford a brand new i5 pc as I’m only 15 , and I’ll have more important and bigger things to save up for in the near future
What about ryzen
Still too expensive for me, ryzen prebuilts are only about £50 cheaper than intro
Intel not intro
I have an i5 3470 atm
Just need something to play games at 60 FPS, 1080p low, for a fe years
there something very wrong with my bf1. got an i5 3rd gen 12gb ram and gtx 1050 ti, only get 30-50fps. on bf5 i get 50-6-
I believe you should get more FPS in BF5, as it is "more" optimized with nVidia. BF2042 with DLSS and Reflex integrated should help boost your FPS even further. 🙂
so on 2042 ill get better performance than 5
do you think a cpu upgrade would help with bf1
You have a real odd amount of ram
y'all think a 3070 can handle the new game max settings at 1080p with 144fps? (with a 5600x)
It is possible under the same scenario. But BF2042 will be a "bigger" game, so that will effect your outcome. Bigger maps, twice the amount of players, etc.
I would think so.
But how is your ram split up
Is it 4,4,4 or 4,8
12 is enough for a game and discord, nut 8 is barely enough for just a game
On my current pc i always use 8gb+ of ram
It just isnt enough these days
To have 8gb
Running 3 sticks probably killed dual channel
Dual means 2
So no you don't have dual channel
Theres the sacrifise of ram stability
For extra ram
I mean Intel does have something called ram flex
That would run 2 in dual channel and the one in single
If I understood it correctly
my performance hasnt gone down, its gon up

Only regulars can use commands
high speed internet is very pog
When you got gigabit internet you need a SSD for storage transfer rate to keep up with the download speed
HDD are a bottleneck
is this an attractive ssd deal? https://www.amazon.com/WD_Black-SN750-Battlefield-Bundle-WDBB9J0010BNC-NRSN/dp/B099FNMV34?th=1
i keep hearing people say the lifespan of ssds is shorter than that of hdds but hdds are way more delicate and I keep seing hdds die and never seen an ssd die
what am i not understanding here?
Because SSDs die in like 10 years
While hdds can last waaaaay longer than that
your nickname and pfp freak the hell out of me ngl
Yeah because I'm gonna wreck you in the traintracks
not again
I mean, this makes sense, but is it normal for hdds to not normally meet this long lifespan and break before due to movement or overuse?
or, maybe not break
but get super slow
every time i get my hands over a laptop i see them being super slow because the disk is always 100%
or spiking a lot
couldnt this be because the hard drives get damaged after moving the laptop around for long?
you somehow managed to fuck up the hard drive
oh yeah there are different SSD types.
I've had to change my buddies HDD out on his laptop, it was always at 100% usage. Even at idle.
some like the SATA 2.5 SSDs can last longer than HDD.
ic
I prefer 2.5" SSDs over HDDs.
where the hell did you get this info lmao
buildapc discord
well i wouldnt trust info from there again lmao
well majority of the time their correct
hardly...
but yeah that shit is pretty inaccurate, so discard what i said
thats literally why i left buildapc and pcpartpick discords
samsung ssds are rated for like 100+ years or smth
yeah but overpriced
im no pc guru, but the amount of horse shit coming out of those 2 servers were ridiculous
im curious of what what stuff they said that made u wanna leave
and the warranty is 10 years
yeah and thats what makes them overpriced lol
not the lifespan lmao
10 year warranty + best speed quality there is = overpriced SSD
"paying more for a better product means its overpriced"
not one thing particular like "i doxxed nyphon, heres his info kill him", but just a culmination of shit advice for builds, weak theories backed by nothing, and elitist that say anything is "dog shit" that isnt the absolute best
the 3080 is overpriced because the 1060 is like 300$
yeah man, your logic makes tons of sense
thats a pretty unfair comparison, but alright.
you see why its stupid now?
It isn't.
sure you can get a no name brand for 20$ but that doesnt mean its gonna be good lmao
Aye, if you think it is, go ahead.
its not really an accurage analogy
SN550, MP33 serves them better for a cheaper price really.
They pretty much offer the same quality speed at a cheaper pricing.
should be something like comparing a zotac 3080 to a strix 3080
But alright, go with the overpriced Samsung SSDs.
and samsung ssds are overpriced FOR a vast majority of people/gaming
that's what I am saying
you have a blanket statement
well you answered what i wanted to say so points done
youre welcome
appreciate it pal
sn550 is the same price as a 980
in usa, theres no way a sn550 costs the same as any samsung ssd with similar stat lines
(outside of sales)
Thiis is the M.2 NVME we're talking right?
yes
Because it says that the 980 is $199 where I am, and $145 for an SN550.
So you're wrong.
"youre wrong bc im in a different place"
well you cant claim youre right bc youre in a different place...
I'm right so far with where it's being sold, of course it's different for you.
Honestly, it's pretty pointless since they all offer different pricing in different countries.
(this is why i started my pricing response with my region)
But my point is, what Nyphon said is why I go against Samsung SSDs.
Overpriced SSDs.
the fact that just bc youre somewhere else and have different data doesnt mean im wrong
Well, you should look up MP33 for example.
less than $100 for 1tb, and still offers the same speeds.
alright youre right, it was hyperbole
See.
but the samsung 980 is still 2x faster lol
Well it is if transferring files and shit.
But in-game performance by loading, it's practically the same.
Lag.
My point is, just get what you can afford. I don't go with Samsung SSDs cuz they overpriced as fuck.
more expensive and better product does not mean overpriced but whatever
Okay, again another point making the samsung SSDs overpriced is that you can get the same performing SSDs as a lower pricing, so why get a samsung when you can get an MP33 for cheaper that offers pretty SIMILAR performance.
i dont think half the speed is similar at all
maybe rn, but games are being optimized more and more for ssds so you might see a difference in newer games as they come out
but you're not gonna notice that really?
yeah in like a few years time lol
big groups of files yeah i will
well I believe for the general consumers, probably not.
That's your preference.
Anyways, good argument, i'd like to see one like these again.
What? lol
No.
no?
whats your rebuttal
That the argument makes no sense considering the R/W speeds aren't even in the same ballpark.
you're not gonna notice those speeds at all, unless you really do care.
Heh, okay.
but alright if you do, then go ahead and get the fastest m.2 nvme ssd there is.
i dont mind paying an SSD at a reasonable pricing than what the samsung 980 offers, aka mp33.
That's outside most people's purse holdings.
like if they perform the same in games i play, then whats the fucking point of spending more?
Because the majority of folks aren't buying parts just for games.
Games tend to be a sidequest.
Navi 31 RX 7900 XT could have 512 MB of Infinity Cache
Quite a bit
Kinda overkill imo
Cache is so quick and holds data for such a short amount of time that you don't need large capacities of it, unlike RAM or VRAM
theyre already making more gpus?
That is actually quite dangerous
Do you think I can play battlefield 2042 with the i5 10400f and a gpu geforce 2060?
Currently there are no official PC specifications released by DICE for Battlefield 2042.

skyscraper destruction vs cpu
yes
the only reason for bf 2042 to not run on rtx 2060 and 10th gen cpu if its cyberpunk launch
Thanks 😂
It's not funny anymore i saw someone asking if he will run the game on gtx 1080 ti
Guys this isn't cyperpunk
This is battlefield (hardware friendly)
the 2060 should have no issues running the game at high (some intense settings at medium) in 1440p
why does my pc shut off at the end of every battlefield 1 game
when you lose your computer goes up to 94°
It's a gaming pc duh, games over
hello i want to buy 2042 but i have RX 580 4gb is it enaugh for run 2042 ?
There are no official specs yet

Hello, why do I get 60/100 FPS when using a controller , but when I use a mouse i get 40-60
uh, idk, doubt, on low-medium probably yes
if we logically think abt it
yes it is
its still 14nm
they backported some tech from their new 10nm process
their 12th gen will finally be on a brand new process
Is DLSS for screen resolution 1080p cause graphics blur?
Thank you

no one knows
Ah tnx
its DLSS 1.0, which is quite bad, DLSS 2.0 and up is the real deal
True
Then add Reflex to that in 2042 . . .
Yes they are 👍
all available in 2042
no rt
they are not partnered with nvidia or amd
as well as in gameplay videos, sure looks to me that ray traced reflections are a thing
don't want it, it would slow it down, wheras dlss speeds it up
it will have raytracing and dlss, my money is on it.
they are partnered with nvidia
they arent
they are
the game would have an nvidia splash screen when the game launches
ususally says "the way its meant to be played"
otehrwise why would nvidia make an article talking about 2042
talking about nvidia tech thats in 2042
wait sorry, they are partnered for bf2042
but they have not been for any other games
i remember jack frags speaking about it now
DLSS - Yes
Reflex - Yes
RT - No
thats speculation at best, especially coming from a no name gaming news acticle
ray traced reflections are literally a thing in screenshots and gameplay
Welp, Rt alows things down . . . so OK,
so what
lol
you dont have to enable it
theres pretty much no point in having dlss if you dont have ray tracing
sure, there is, but dlss exists so you make up the fps lost from ray tracing
Glad you backtracked there . . .
we just need to see to what extent they use ray tracing for
is it just reflections, or more
maybe ray traced shadows, or GI, who knows
but i almost guarantee you that it will at least have ray traced reflections, especially now that they partnered with nvidia
When I play Battlefield 1 the game keeps getting minimised when using fullscreen... how do I fix this? Playing borderless doesn't work as my performance is just useless.
If I switch from Origin to EA Desktop will this stop being an issue?
I have this problem too, I just try not to alt tab
It's happening to me during games and even in the menu when I'm not pressing anything
I thought I must somehow be alt tabbing but last couple of times I've not even had my hands on the keyboard
No
Dlss is used on its own
Oof idk how to help you there then, you might have to consider just playing in windowed or redownloading
i know, but if youre already gaming at a reasonably high fps then theres no point to use dlss really
and then you go and turn on ray tracing, and your fps tanks, and thats when dlss is at its best
making up the ground lost by turning on ray tracing features
Something is forcing an alt-tab.
It's basically this
But as people have said it only works for a few days
lets say im playing 2042 at max settings with 120fps on average, theres no reason for me to turn on dlss if im already having those fps numbers, but then i turn on ray tracing features, and that fps goes down to like 80, and thats when i would turn on dlss to gain like 20-30 fps back
I try to get 360fps+

if you plan on getting this card
avoid msi at all costs
especially ventus lineup
msi uses very cheap components on this generation
even bellow the founders edition cards
they are utter crap
the only worthwhile card is the suprim x model, which is their top of the line
500+ in BF4
even the gaming x trio uses pretty mediocre components considering that thats a mid to high end card
Or higher
gigabyte has a pretty good lineup this generation, gaming oc model is great
eagle oc is alright, vision oc is in the same class
I would recommend Asus
asus is usually the most expensive as they use the most expensive components
Yeah
