it's not their problem, it's how resource allocation works for cores
I didn't say it's bad
I'm saying it's not enough to satisfy your requirements
Imo any CPU like the Ryzen 5 1600 and i7-3930K and better should run games smooth for years to come

why would they
release a new generation of cpus
i've seen some pics and 5600x single core is very GOOD
because they didn't have much of a choice
it was either drop the frequency or drop the cores
4 core/8 thread is borderline getting outdated
rocket lake is a half way generation step
it was supposed to be developed on 10nm
but it had to be backported to 14nm hence why 10 cores do not work in the temperature envelope
it runs a newer architecture which wasn't built for 14nm fabrication
Currently there are no official PC specifications released by DICE for Battlefield 2042.
Any specs floating around the internet are just assumptions or rumors.
intel were kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place regarding rocket lake
recommended specs are usually poo poo anyways
so why would they even push it out
money!
sales
be more specific deco
yea but no one is buying it because it's shit 😭
actually
they needed anything to plug the gap till alder lake
be more broad
sales for CPUs are reported on a quarterly basis
and if intel delayed the release they would have had to tell investors they had effectively no new product for the entirety of the quarter
which is.. not something any company wants to tell investors
It's quite dubious indeed.
there's also the issue with alder lake
any delay is around 6 months in length, generally anyways
if they delayed it till well now and released it on 10nm it would have 10 cores
but you would have no reason to buy it as alder lake is launching in little under 4 months
Alder-Lake ain't that big of a leap and DDR5 is very expensive
do you guys think that bf2042 will have dlss?
Windows 11 came out in time for Hybrid architecture tho
I still think that big.LITTLE isn't suitable for high performance desktop
Hopefully there are models with Golden Cove cores only
Yes
they confirmed that already
I think
or something
because dice is working specifically with nvidia
it will yes
it will also 90% have FSR
alder lake generally is a big question mark
big.little is long overdue for desktop platforms, how intel go about handling task scheduling and bin tasking will determine how successful alder lake is in general
AMD wants to do hybrid with Zen 5 apparently
Don't think effecient cores will affect gaming
Pretty sure games will just use the fast cores
While slower cores handle background processing and operating system
it's a lot more complicated than that generally for big.little
What makes you think that
games will want to use the big cores in the system, the trouble is however is that it will also want to use the little cores at the same time
FSR very easily to implement since it's simple tech
DICE does not have exclusivity with nvidia
it is an official partnership
Oh ok
all it means is Nvidia can use battlefield 2042 for DLSS branding
Yeah
FSR has a lot of needed improvement but I imagine it will in the coming months
It's already released I don't know if it can be improved upon
FSR will be good, however it won't be as good as DLSS, it's simply down to a difference in scalable complexity
FSR isn't a competitor to DLSS since it's not AI accelerated
FSR has a broad advantage as DLSS is dependent on RT cores to perform its neural processing
I imagine there will be an official response to DLSS with next-gen
FSR doesn't depend on any sort of neural acceleration
Then what do tensor cores do
hence why it will be implemented on the consoles
TC cores were utilised mostly for DLSS 1.0
it made sense at the time due to how it functioned
Well yeah because that was 2000 series
But 2.0 uses mostly tensor right? That's what they are designed for
2.0 uses both
where it can, anyways
the trouble with 1.0 and TC cores was scheduling was a massive issue that's why you saw stuttering etc and bad sample textures with it
anyways cut a long story short 2.0 "fixed", the correct term is improved the neural processing by offloading resources to RT cores away from TC cores
which they should have done to begin with
That's quite the guess.
Ampere Next (RTX 4000) is gonna have an L3 cache just like RDNA 2/3, 72% more CUDA than Ampere
Ay look it's carbonic my favorite
and well it doesn't make sense for DICE not to implement FSR anyways
Aaahhh, the "Spacestar Ordering" approach to getting what you want 😄
it's little development time for a boost in all platforms that the game runs on
pc console etc etc
I really do want fsr though
I don't have a 2000 or 3000 series GPU
And I need to breath life into my card
With amd
I hope the game will get FSR as well and I don't see why it shouldn't get it. But it's gaming, plenty of things that don't make sense happen so I dare not come with any guesses regarding FSR.
FSR as time goes on will likely just become the defacto standard for how upsampling is handled where DLSS isn't used and will lose the AMD branding
Lose the amd branding where
Discord on mobile is a bit slow, especially Android.
in the games it is implemented
aka it will go from "AMD FSR" to just "FSR"
it's already being worked on to be included in the engines that it's necessary so 90% in a few years time that's how it'll go
Yeah it's cringy
Open source fsr
Is the code out yet?
They said they would release it
the code is already "technically" out, it just hasn't been posted under the GPL yet
FSR and DLSS should both have been part of DirectX but Microsoft has been dropping the ball with DirectX for quite a while.
the repository will be made available on the 16th iirc
Very good
the fact that a sample model for FSR was modded in for GTA without the code being publicly available yet should show how easy it is to implement though
ah yes nvidias war with Linux finally being forced to actually be compliant with it
long time coming
Microsoft making their own version of super sampling called DirectML, which is supported on Xbox Series and possibly RX 6000 series GPUs
if it's not in mercadolibre.com.ar then it isn't anywhere
if i get a new ssd how would i install windows to that ssd
Buy usb stick over 8gb use microsoft tool for putting a windows 10 on it and then boot that usb to install windows on the ssd
and I recommend using this link by microsoft for help on that https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-installation-media-for-windows-99a58364-8c02-206f-aa6f-40c3b507420d
Learn how to create installation media for installing or reinstalling Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.
I usually migrate Windows from the old drive to the new drive if possible. I currently use Samsung SSDs and they have their free "Samsung Data Migration Software for Consumer SSD" which allow me to do that. Other brands often have similar tools. Might we worth looking into.
Probably easier to install it
thank you
uninstall windows, use a USB stick with the windows installer and plug it in: select your ssd as boot drive
it's possible to clone to the partitions over from non Samsung devices if your current SSD does not use GPT, you can also compress your current windows installation into a recovery package which will allow you to restore it on your new SSD
@analog hollow https://youtu.be/5Wml2PfkE-k easiest way, assuming u have windows already, u just wanna move it to the new ssd
yo
How much should you ask for a relatively unused RTX 3060 TI
Used for less than 3 months, 0 mining
I've bought from g2a, they have some nasty fees but i havent had any other problems
thanks man
so not bad?
Just don't use the saftey net or whatever
Just paying extra for not much reason
i cant remember it was called but you can just untick on checkout
And what is the safety net for? and why do you have to pay for it?
just in case I don't buy it in g2a I saw many comments that the game does not work or was already used

whats that
Is there an app or a website where we can get real money by drawing?
Not really tech related but you can do commission on many
Hmm ok thanks for telling me
twitter is a really common place for that

srry didnt know this
Who the fk still uses linux anyway in 2021
A lot of corporations
Where windows server is pointless
Why wouldn't they use Linux lul
Except a few cases where some of the BSDs are better
Mate maybe corporations but what about the standard user like me and you
We can buy windows key for under 15$ now
Linux works just fine
Not for everything obviously
Also don't mention keystores here
I didn’t mention any store did i?
I said you can get it under 15$ anywhere if you search
You don’t have to activate windows
linux has its advantages
its much easier to run compared to windows, and you can get CLI OS's based on linux, which are both very efficent and very useful for something like a raspberry pi
Ironically it would be better for the surface RT as well
Since windows 8 RT was both restrictive and too much for it
But it's also good for large projects on high end
Though I mostly use Spyder and LaTeX for uni, so not exactly demanding
the reason a lot of server deploments chose linux over windows server is that CLI. being able to devote basically ALL resources of the server to its client instead of having to use them running the OS. also allows the operator to do commands immediatly instead of having to click through endless menus to get to the setting they want
windows keys are like £5
I used Ubuntu once, it was fun
i personally wouldnt use linux. i see its advantages but its not for me
i have a 500 gig hdd that is collecting dust in a draw that i could use as a dual boot for linux i guess
Artix and windows on desktop
And OpenSuSE
So triple boot I guess
But to each their own
Just wanted to tell that there's reasons to use Linux in 2021
Or BSD
I used to have dual boot, now if I want to play with Linux I just boot up hyper-v and install it in a VM.
does anyone have experience with raid ?
i have two seagate hdd's that are the same model but one is 1tb and one is 2tb
if i was to put them in raid 0 for the extra performance, what would be the downside ?
i mean because im using two different capacities
would it take the capacity of the lower drive giving me 1+1tb instead of 1+2tb?
depends on the raid level
0
In computer storage, the standard RAID levels comprise a basic set of RAID ("Redundant Array of Independent Disks" or "Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks") configurations that employ the techniques of striping, mirroring, or parity to create large reliable data stores from multiple general-purpose computer hard disk drives (HDDs). The most com...
You would loose 1GB total space. Each drive need to use the same amount of space in Raid 0.
oh yeah
Is the M1 Garand EBR a designated marksman rifle or a semi-automatic rifle? Is it used in the military?
Provided you've got a backup solution, it's about as performance minded in RAID configuration as you're going to get. Don't use it if you value your dataset though if you don't run some sort of external repository to tuck it away.
If he is just using it for game files and not save or settings files Raid 0 would work as you could always just download the games again.
hello i have Ryzen 3 3100, ASUS TUF B450M and a 1650super, i need UPS recommendations
i know nothing about UPS specs
So an external repository then...
I believe I have a site for you to calculate that, one moment.
error
?
Yup
First thing you need to know and explain when buying a UPS is why you need a UPS.
frequent power outages
What kind of board is the ASUS TUF B450M, ATX?
Good, so you don't need a big battery.
How much memory and how many SSDs/HDDs?
memory?
8gbx2 3200mhz
so 16Gb
Use a UPS calculator like the one on https://www.apc.com/shop/dk/en/tools/ups_selector/ - you don't need a long runtime as the computer just need to shut down.
Select the right UPS for your home, home office, small business, Server Room and Network Closet, or Data Center Facility.
Estimated 271 Watts
900W? I don't even run that and I have a 3080 in this machine with top-end hardware. https://www.apc.com/shop/dk/en/products/Back-UPS-Pro-BR-900VA-6-Outlets-AVR-LCD-Interface/P-BR900MI would do you fine or something similar to those specs.
Back UPS Pro BR 900VA, 6 Outlets, AVR, LCD Interface
APC Back-UPS 650, 230V
If you leave the computer on once in a while I would get a UPS that your can setup to auto shut down your computer.
Just realized these are Denmark links, but likely still similar equipment available in your area.
My link was Danish yes, they have a good calculator for UPSs so that's why I picked it, not because you had to buy from there.
Given that you're pushing allegedly 271W, giving yourself an additional 100W of headroom minimum is likely the best play--so nothing less than a 400W solution.
thanks guys
I don't know what's wrong with this site btw, I can't click on any links in the breadcrumbs and whatnot. 😦
Otherwise I'd help you dial in.
all you need is something with enough oomph to power a pc and monitor for probably 60 seconds, thats plenty of time for you to shut it down properly
because thats what you want a UPS for, its not really recommended to continue using the pc running on the ups, its designed to give you enough time to power it down to prevent damage
so for a gaming machine, a cheap one would do nicely, you only need to spend more on an expensive one if its super delicate and important hardware
Anyone knows what’s up with rtx 3080/3070 super cards for laptops?
Are we getting them?
None announced
Could military police use these semi-automatic battle rifles: Kel-Tec RFB, PTR 91F, and HCAR?
yo guys, i got battlefield 4 on pc and for some reason my game keeps making me spin forever its unplayable, any way to fix?
This has nothing to do with #technology . Please take it to other channels, thank you.

an update to this, i have determined what was at fault and how to fix it
its pretty obviously the gpu fans
and i found if i run them at 50% speed at a minimum its fine, only happens below 50% speed
Can someone here help me with a issue im getting when launching the game?

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and Intel Core i5 10600KF prices are almost equal (3600 is +2.5$)
Still remember days when AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT was ~40$ cheaper than 10600K
how much are they?
battlefield 4 maps slow to load in normal?
If you have it on HDD and your first map load, yes
anyone with razer deathadder elite
Guys I have a problem is that when I want to enter a battlefield 4 game after they load me and enter the game the game crashes and everything goes black. neither can I close the game in any way nor with the alt + f4. The only way to close it is by restarting the pc. Could you help me?

Have you tried any of the many solutions on answers.ea.com ?
Crazy how well Ryzen 3000 series is still selling
Has so much mindshare that people still buy the 3600 over CPUs like 10600K and 10700 lmao
i think it comes from a general lack of education
😧
Thanks man
I love you 😁
It's works
Amazing
Which solution ended up fixing it for you?
I found my laptop does actually have tpm 2.0, so I signed up for insider program. Holy cow does it take forever to install
Been going for like an hour now
oh yeah, so many checks to make sure the install goes smoothly it ends up taking a loooong time on most computers
oh dear
Yeah and my laptop is not exactly fast
A solid 2 cores and 4 threads
At.... not many ghz
Well it's done. Windows 11 babbyyy
Looking forward to seeing if the Win11 drivers can really lower driver crashes by 90+%
i didnt want to install it on bare metal on my main rig because of the warned potential harmful effects. but after just some playing im really excited and i might do it anyway
I was thinking the same until I read that people are getting banned in some games
Wasn't it like 2 games and they both got fixes within a few days?
help me optimize battlefield 4 for pc?
That's not the point of this channel really. That's something more for #battlefield-legacy-titles .
guys what the most stable driver rn for GTX 1660S? im using 457.30 should i upgrade?
so uh any gaming laptop recommendation 1000-1500 dollars?
OK thanks, sorry
any good gaming mouse in 100 dollars?
g502
ok then
anyone else have no sound on bf4?
sometimes it takes a few second for the sound to start for me when i load into a server
but after that it's fine
nope
BF4 should be just press and play.
look I explain the solution. When I play in full screen and join any game the game crashes. After it crashes, it takes me out of the game and makes an error.
When I play it in a window, the game crashes but I can enter the game. Can you explain why that happens? any solution??? take it seriously
Damn loading into a match is super slow on pc, ive got an ssd and ps4 with hdd loads in alot faster.
what ssd?
idk which game ur talking about but in bf4 it definitey makes a difference
and its definitely faster than an hdd
in settings it says my ssd is an hdd for some reason
That aint right
Are you sure you don't have an SSD and a HDD?
i've found the problem i think, my ssd shows as scsi when it should be sata. Dont know how to change it but many others have the same problem
@lofty light i have 1 m.2 and 1 ssd no hdd
i get garbage ping on bf4 exclusively
nowhere else
the game is unplayable as i get kicked every 5 minutes
i have 4 ping
and in every other game i get like 20
at most
maybe you got big spikes
R6?
3060ti should be fine for bf5...?
but i need to put right settings
You don't need low settings to get 144fps probably
well i tried it and it was good but if it becomes cpu bound, i dont want that
ill try medium. ill make the gpu work a bit
or high
ill try w dx12 on and off
What resolution? 2k?
Settings won't change CPU load nearly as much as gpu
1080p
1080p with a 5600x and 3060ti should be high/ultra no problem
yes
Lower GPU load makes a CPU bottleneck more likely though
He wants 144fps, so ultra I don't see work
and ill compare
i am fine w more
like 160-170
i was playing all on low before and i was getting super high per my gpu probably wasnt working much tho
cpu temp was low as well
i do have wallpaper engine running in the background tho
and apparently it lowers frames
It can, yeah
Definitely check the setting that the animation is paused when another program is in focus.
yes
define stable
I get over 60 fps on ultra with RX 580...
Got 80-90 fps on ultra when BFV came out but the game's performance has gotten worse over time
Ultra
NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards are primarily known for their excellent ray-tracing performance, but they have one primary drawback compared to the AMD Radeon RX 6000 series: The notably lower memory buffer. This was reflected quite clearly in Doom Ethernal at QHD and 4K with ray-tracing (source: GameGPU). The GeForce RTX 3060 12GB...
That got me laughing when a rtx 3060 cheaper then the 3070 runs doom eternal better
I will never be able to afford a graphics card
1 fps slower vs 3060....
if im reading the graphs right, only at 4k max settings with ray tracing on is when a 3060 beats a 3070
Imagine playing DOOM.
im like 50 fps under the benchmark in bf5?
all on low settings
i have like 120-130 fps and on benchmark its like 170
im deleting wallpaper engine i think thats the problem
WPE created all sorts of issues on my desktops so I removed it.
At one point, it introduced artifacting into the background images themselves.
yeah
but maybe its what i have in the nvidia settings
i have it all on default
in the nvidia control panel
all on default
dx12 is disabled
future frame rendering is disabled
understandable, have a nice day.
Almost there.
that feeling when you might have to wait until 2042 to get your RTX 3070 :FBM:
im good with my 130 fps
geforce 210
Cool stuff
The heck
Something something can it run Crysis?
Lmfao
the first one? that can be run on a smart fridge at this point
16-core/24-thread Intel Alder-Lake CPU is 10% faster than Ryzen 9 5950X in Cinebench multithreaded score
Why are you surprised that intel can keep up with amd
its on actual working 10nm.process
Intel only gets better if there is competition
Because it's big little compared to 16 big
Not because it's intel
I mean to laaven
Half the cores don't have ht
And is slower
Alder-Lake uses DDR5 which is gonna run like $400 for minimum spec 32GB kit whereas you can get 32GB DDR4 for like ~$150
Zen3D still uses DDR4 and is looking to be faster than Intel 12th gen on DDR5
Also heard about Zen4 performance
8-core Zen4 could match/beat the 12-core 5900X in multithread performance
Good if true
40% IPC gain
Just rumours so far though until we hear from official sources
Expect Bulldozer to Zen type of Jump
i hope it also isnt 50% more exoensive
Since buying zen 3 makes no sense for me
Entry cpu too expensive
5600G is cheaper than 5600X and comes with iGPU
Which is strange but oh well
I ain't buying an APU now tho, I'd wait until RDNA2 APUs or when Intel has GPU tiles in their APUs
APUs are the reason why LGA1700 is rectangular btw
Intel is wanting to fit a decent size GPU onto a SoC
Their iGPU for 12th gen should be double performance of current Ryzen 5700G
Or more
Then there's Xeon APUs...
Xeon APUs exclusive to enterprise stuff and won't come out until Raptor Lake
HBM3 on board
its not the same as 5600x, they are made like zen 2 cpus, with split cache if i remember correctly, and the G version is overall worse for gaming, even the 5800G performs worse in games than 5600x while having 2 extra cores
Do FPS boosters work?
Or is it just like downloading free RAM
not really
!!specs
Currently there are no official PC specifications released by DICE for Battlefield 2042.
Any specs floating around the internet are just assumptions or rumors.
hurry up !
!specs
You need a computer or console
CONFIRMED
I think you will have relax with that. The BFV specs were released like 3 weeks before release of the game. For 2042 that would mean the beginning of October.
They could do it completely different this time around ofc.
im just really eager to see the specs
The current one I’m not sure because it’s old
But it’s a ASUS swift ROG something 1440p 144hz monitor
Hm alr nice
But it’s about 5 ish years old so I need a new one soon
damn monitors are getting cheap
Yeah idk why but that monitor is priced extremely low
for how good it is
and it also has great reviews
and it's IPS
I guess its because 1440p is kinda becoming the new norm
This is definitely a good monitor
yeah I cant wait
if you have the money I'd honestly recommend looking into that one yourself
I might tbh. Might be saving up rn tho for a 4K one that’s supposed to have released this month
But who knows. I’ll give it another 2 months before buying a new one if I don’t see a release
M27Q is a banger
great value
apart from being a bit weird with BRG pixel arrangement instead of RGB
so reading text in some applications can be a bit weird
yeah
I still just dont feel like im ready for 4k
PC would probably chug heavily on games like RDR2
just not worth it imo
at least not yet
maybe if I get a 3080 eventually
idk
Dont really feel the need to upgrade though
2080ti is still beefy enough
probably going to wait until the next nvidia gen comes out
after the 3000 cards
yeah, even though it may hurt my heart, I can handle turning a few settings down to high or medium
if need be
hello i play battlefield V well on medium - high settings in 1080p with i7 980x - rtx 2060 and 24gb ram. this year battlefield will be more expensive in terms of graphic settings?
i have to try the beta first 🙂
that pc should handle it ok, you will be cpu bottle necked slightly though i think
the i7 980x is still a decent cpu, but its not great
Nobody knows for sure, but I imagine that it will be a little more intensive than V, still though you should be able to run it good
can 128 players on big maps run on xbox 1 and ps4 if you play solo mode?
if money will drop down
no
damn
last gen and console will be 64 players only
there will be a public beta to everyone? and maybe when? XD
if you pre order you will get access to the beta
@prime jasper not sure how you can only see the difference on tvs, i even noticed a difference on my phone moving from a 5.2 inch 1080p screen to a 6.47 1080x2340 screen
its only about a half a million pixel difference
and its pretty noticeable
@supple bane only if i preorder? last year was public for everyone
afaik its something you get for preordering
you get access to beta regardless
its an OPEN beta
you just get earlier access by preordering
there you go then
😄
@prime jasper what’s up
I usually play on a decent size gaming monitor
@prime jasper the density is even smaller on my newer phone, abour 400 ppi compared to about 430 ppi
and yet the screen is noticeably sharper on my newer phone
How big is your phone?
there is probably a difference but not a big one
There is probably a difference but not a big one.
well, it was pretty noticeable for me
k
and when i turn on my old phone, im like damn this screen is bad
well, the newer one being oled as well, so colors are miles better
Same
but app icons are more blurry
but the difference doesn't worry me due to my ps5 arriving next month.
even tho the pixel density is smaller, theres a higher amount of them, and our eyes dont really see a very small difference between ~30 ppi compared to half a million more pixels
Do we agree on the fact that 8k is too much.
Unless your in a movie theater
No
wdym no!?
its pointless
It will eventually become the new 4k, and then 8k will get passed up by 12k or whatever is next
etc
8k will eventually be normal
Human eyes cant see more then 8k pixels lol
Ah the old "human eye bad lol" argument
"human eye cant see over 60 fps" 🐒
Ye one day we will all be cyborgs
imax theaters use trickery to fool our eyes into perceiving the movie is in higher quality than it is
Its more of a feel thing
no it isnt lol
of course there is a difference between 8k and 4k
but its literally pointless on a 80 inch screen
if our eyes saw in pixels or FPS equivalents irl would fucking suck
probably not
the screen has to be massive in order to have a significant impact over 4k
8k tv's are just a gimmick
You can feel that its way smoother with more fps
Agreed
it will once games reach a point beyond 4k
as games are doing now with 1080p
no, games will get more photorealistic, but not higher resolution
most game will stay in 1080p
panel manufacturers will keep making screens with higher resolutions
but it doesnt mean its all that useful
y e s
1080p is already quite low res
for most new games
because 4k at 27" is already so high that you cant distinguish pixels even whilst your right upon the monitor
no its not especially for 2042
so the industry wont go beyond that because people wont pay for it
Uh yeah it is
8k and 12k will have its uses, but not in competitive gaming
No its not lol.
in general 8k tv's wont be a thing for a while
1080p legit looks horrible on most newer games because of advancements in anti aliasing
at least affordable
cuz of TAA
which MOST modern games use
TAA implementations blur the image
by default, unless the dev applies a sharpening filter on top of it
and on top of that modern games are being made with 1440p as the standard res
yes, most devs use TAA because its good
for consoles anyway
good in a sense that its pretty cheap and gives good results
1440p is the sweet spot for monitors
with the right amount of sharpening
Never fixes the ghosting 1080p has with TAA
MSAA died out cuz its literally supersampling
there are games with good TAA implementations
doom for example
but my point stands that gaming wont reach 8k mainstream, not on a monitor at least. it will on TV's
yeah but most of them only look good with 1440p
it just depends how the dev implements TAA
also refresh rate wont increase much more past what we have, we have basically reached the limit
I have a 1080p monitor and DOOM, RDR2 (native res), and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, all look like blurry paintings
even with sharpening to the max
its just not good
cant remember a game
it had really good TAA implementation
pretty much no ghosting
but i cant remember which one was it
it was the best implementation that ive ever seen
cyberpunk has pretty good TAA but I used DLSS with it so I might be a bit bias
point a gun at my head and i still wouldnt remember which one im thinking about xd
regardless, TAA is here to stay
which is why I'm saying, you may aswell just move up to 1440p
otherwise you'll suffer like me
at least RDR2 has a render scaling option so I can just render it at 1440p anyway
looks so much fucking better than native
like holy shit
yes, you can only cram in so many transistors
yes, cuz you are effectively applying supersampling
rendering the game at 1440p, and downscaling it to 1080p
TSMC got 3nm in risk production iirc gonna be used in the iPhone 14 series
yeah I know that, im just dogging on 1080p once again
i used to play bf5 with 150% render res
until an update fucked me hard
and completely destroyed my performance ever since
i think IBM made like a prototype 1nm transistor as well
but the thing about transistor sizes
they arent what they seem to be
its not a standardized measurement
intel for example treats their transistor size like the actual size of it
and amd treats the size of the transistor as a distance between two transistors
so that 3nm transistor doesnt necessarily mean its 3nm in size
intel's 14nm and amd's 7nm transistors are very similar in size
its just that AMD counts that 7nm size thats between two transistors
they also do a lot of rounding
but you know, marketing, "the smaller the number, the better it is"
the lower the fps
the better
agreed
I can run rdr2 with everything maxed out at 2 fps
lool
According to @iceuniverse, a well-reputed source on Samsung SoCs and smartphones, the company’s upcoming Exynos 2200 processor will be codenamed “Pamir” and fabbed on the foundry’s 4nm process node. Furthermore, the accompanying RDNA graphics processor licensed from AMD will be codenamed “Voyager”. Source There have been numerous leaks about the...
This is huge
small

4nm process is tiny
just 20 silicone atoms wide
a piece of paper is about 100,000 nm
anyone know why bf5 kills my keyboard RGB it a logitech one
henlo windows 11
doesnt logitech have some setting where its light coordinate with certain games?
It look like that but then that set to blue but it just turn it off like if I press the button
someone have noticed a error on gfe when you try to optimize the games?
"Unable to retrieve settings"
is the rtx 3050 close to rtx 3060? because in comparisons its like the 1660 (FPS)
also i wanna buy 1000 dollar gaming laptop, any recommended? rog g513qc?
does anyone know if the rtx 3060 is worth $500?
Im seeing alot of legit retailers sell for that price even though its msrp is $329
nope
no but for these days it's an ok deal
What is the best graphics settings for BF4, I've 1050Ti (In Laptop)
For multiplayer
yeah I am
I run texture and effects at high, mesh at ultra and the rest at lowest
Mesh is the only important one to keep at max
gasp so you're cheating! /s
Okay thank you so much
DRM causes worse performance yet again https://www.pcgamer.com/resident-evil-village-drm-denuvo-stuttering/
It uses Denuvo and Capcom's own DRM technology. Dunno which is causing it.
interesting
Capcom told Eurogamer that they will fix it though https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2021-resident-evil-village-cracked-performance-beats-official-code
while good it still doesn't look good that their Q&A team didn't catch it, but guess they don't get test DRM vs. non-DRM performance
how does palit rtx 3060 dual and inno3d rtx3060 ichill 3x compare?
is the price difference worth it?
i would go for something better than that
i had both palit and inno3d GPU back then. Wasn't the wise option to get those
why?
Quality Check issues
Worth looking at, but sometimes you have to clear the game preset and/or re-map to default. It’s some feature/bug in G-Hub. I had it happen when R6S and SC myself.
It’s in your keyboard settings in G-Hub.
May of been that as I am playing now and it working
👍
video doesn't open
can you send it as a file instead of an url?
it doesnt open for me
that sucks
might not be denuvo, on crysis remastered for example, it uses denuvo, and someone did a frametime analysis over at that discord, and denuvo has no noticeable impact
as far as i know newer versions of denuvo barely affect performance in games
if people didnt cheat games that havent increased in prices in a decade we wouldnt have this scenario
what has that to do with prices
its just an added point that gamers are self entitled greedy shits
wed rather blame that a company is trying to make money on their product from people pirating the game instead of blaming people for stealing
It looks like graphics card prices won’t be returning to normal this quarter after all. With the Ethereum prices continuing to fall, it initially seemed like GPU prices would return to normal within a month or two. However, the situation is more complicated than that. According to sources, NVIDIA has halted (postponed) the shipments of …
Nvidia halts the shipments of RTX GPUs until next month because the "used market is flooded"
Bruh
Hey I wanna buy the new Xbox. What should I buy? Series S or X?
so glad i dont have to deal with wanting a gpu...
The X is worth it more in the long run
Double the storage of the S and 3x the graphics performance
Series S is aimed at 1080p displays imo
It can barely even do 1440p
Cool.
Im trying to buy it but it’s either out of stock or the retailers overpriced it
Like by 150-200 bucks extra
Yeah especially online retailers
I went to Wal-Mart the other day and saw Series X and PS5 in stock at normal MSRP lol
Cool
But online they were $700+
xbox series X is 1,000 everywhere i look
Too much speed
We went to Valve's office to go hands-on with its new handheld gaming PC, the Steam Deck. IGN's own Bo Moore goes in-depth on how its controller feels, its desktop mode, its price and models, and a whole lot more.
The Steam Deck, is a handheld gaming PC with a form-factor similar to that of a Nintendo Switch. No hard release date has been given...
Zen2 CPU and RDNA2 graphics in a handheld starting at $399

basically xbon/ps4 power performance, but for a 720p display
honestly, its pretty cool
i can finally play steam games while sitting on the toilet
What about sleep walking
yes
What!?!
pog
i cant find my gpu photoosss
im to lazy to take anotherrr
That's the stupidest thing to put on gummy bear the CPU.
You can dm me
bf5 is a bit blurry any fix. i play on ultra rtx 3060 ti
2 TFlops is roughly GTX 1050Ti performance
Good for an early RDNA2 APU with only 4 compute units
Ryzen 6000 APUs will feature 12 compute units
Also has Ray-tracing support
Pretty interesting considering it's built for an 720p display, I think it will handle well
Keep in mind: TFLOPs don’t show actual performance expecially when comparing Radeon/nvidia
Amd FSR is looking better and better
TFLOPS is really the only single statistic we can use
Anyone know of some really banger 4k monitors I can look at?
I'm torn between getting a 1440p one or 4k
not sure which at this point
@prime jasper for?
i'd rather get 1440p tbh
for 4k you need a 3090 or a 3080ti to get decent performance
hmmm yeah I suppose
I just want the highest visual quality with at least 60 fps
sick of games looking like blurry messes with TAA on 1080p
i'd honestly go for 1440p
depends how much you wanna spend on the monitor tho
and 4k monitors dont come in cheap either
true
depends on your audio setup
I would say, if you already have fake surround sound headphones, then turn it off
steelseries arctis pro
Yeah I would leave it off
ok
it sounds the same tbh
what is spacial sound?
artificial surround sound for people who don't have actual surround sound settings for their headphones or audio setups
oh ok, so if i have surround sound in my headphones and have razer 7.1 surround sound i don't need it
yeah
should I use that?
It works well but I was just asking
I don't hear much difference between normal sound and war tapes
yeah war tapes just usually amplifies background ambient war noise
and far away gunshots
It's 1280x800
16:10
And they changed steamos quite a bit, now arch based
Which is better for gaming perfromance? RTX 3060 130W + Ryzen 5900HX or RTX 3070 95W + Ryzen 5700H?
The 3060 use 36% more power than the 3070? I swear, laptops are weird 😄
TDP and heat dissipation. The laptop manufacturers can manipulate the power wattage to fit a powerful gpu in it. However, it is down to whether the laptop design and the manufacturers, whether they are willing to make the laptop colder or hotter
Oh I know. But it's too extreme when the wattage can jump that much, also too customer unfriendly. A 3070 should always be more powerful than a 3060, if a 3070 uses too much power for the laptop in question then that laptop should not have a 3070.
It'd be a 3070 Max Q I guess
Where you can get a high end part and clock it right down for power economy
Samsung Exynos 2200 to feature a 6-core AMD RDNA2 GPU designed to deliver unrivaled graphics performance in upcoming Galaxy S22 series smartphones
Not anymore lol
Exynos 2200 is expected to be faster than A14 Bionic and should rival/beat the A15 even
Graphics are about 3x faster than any other android smartphone currently available using the latest SnapDragon 888
As for CPU... About 40% higher single-core performance
same, a 3090 is 3400 dollars here
Prices are getting better
crazy i know
it probably won't make a giant difference, especially when you're not trying to overclock it to the edge
yeah, might as well get a founders edition 3070 for that money
ill probably get a tuf then
big price difference for minimal changes
Founders been nonexistent here
Samsung Exynos 2200 graphics on Galaxy S22 faster than Xbox One, PS4
Those are also 8 year old midrange ones
RDNA2 at very low power
Do you guys know anything about AMD releasing new CPU this year
Zen 3 refresh with new 3D stacked V-cache
This year?
Yeah November
my friend is rebuilding his PC for 2042 and he's thinking of getting a 5900x rn if nothings coming out
you have a link for that?
That's plenty
id say wait for zen4 tho
because itll release at the same time as 2042 and will obviously at the very least be the same performance for less money
well where are you guys getting these release dates bc my friends been looking for leaks and he came up empty
you can just look at past release dates and work it out
5900X is all you really need tbh, although AMD demonstrated a prototype 5900X with 3D cache and it was 15% faster in gaming on average than the regular 5900X
15% faster as an engineering sample
It's gonna be on AM4 socket still
i thought the rumour was the next amd release would be LGA?
Nah that's end of 2022
oh
Go for tuf.
lol like you have a choice of what you can get
299 deck might be coming soon if companies invest in the handheld market
the problem is that, people shouldn't get the base model because it has 64gb storage and more imporatantly. it is eMMC
id rather spend 30 bucks on a 256gb sd card than 130 more for internal nvme
nah... it doesn't work this way
AAA titles shall not be run on eMMC (slow. unless it is fast) because it can get quite slow. the 256gb version can storage 1-2 AAA games
the first "not base model" is 256 gb though
sd card has too much in latency
"It's beginning to sound a lot like Steam Machine-mas"
depends. unless it is codmw
lol
if it needs to be docked with DC power. shall better get a usbc hub
i expect people to be buying this for mostly indie games or old titles
it looks like it has two USB c slot. one at the top and another one at the bottom
unless people wants that to be docked all the time, they shall be getting a desktop or a gaming laptop
otherwise 256gb version shall be the lightest and a more portable option
i bet theres gonna be people buying this as a stop gap to desktop gaming
if i have to travel a lot, then yeah
what is a steam deck?
first time im hearing this
that's not going to be comfortable to use for mouse focused games like hoi4
they have track pads on both sides
yeah way too minimal changes for that much money
dont forget steam controller lol
track pads can't click can they
so sure, youre not gonna be global elite on csgo with this thing, but it should be good enough
i dont think you can play hoi4 in that
steam controller has a cheap laptop quality trackpad
i think you certainly can, its just a matter if you really want to
how are they going to be able to run aaa games on a handhled device anyway
i ran it on my mobile device on geforce now, just that its unplayable

thats not similar though?
i know, i was just giving my experience with it
gotcha
but i still dont know how its going to run aaa games
So do you want to buy TufA15 or TufA17? In the top of Tuf A series If you go for TufA15 you will get 15.6 inch with 240 Hz screen but if you go for TufA17, you will get 17.3 inch with 144 Hz screen. Both almost has same spec (RTX3070 + Ryzen7-5800H).

you guys get stable frames on BFV with a 3060ti?
