Didn't get any answers last time I posted this, so I'll repost and see if anyone knows anything.

I've been having the most peculiar issue when trying to run BFV. I'm seeing massive reductions in CPU and GPU usage only when the game is focused. It runs at a smooth 60 fps in the background, but as soon as I focus the window my GPU usage falls down to <5% and CPU usage <30%. I haven't had this issue in any other game to date, so I feel like maybe someone else here has had similar problems. Edit: I've now begun having this issue in several other games as well (although not all). I have ran both Prime95 and Furmark, both of which have no problem getting the GPU/CPU up to 99% without any throttling or reduction in speed.

My setup is the following:
CPU: i7-6700
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 16GB DDR4

For your monitor tho... I would get the 3rd one because it has a monitor stand and it is G-Sync available (I don't have to deal with annoyance setting up adaptive sync). Others may think sRGB 100% is enough but i like the extra colours that i can see from the sRGB 130% panel). As you said you don't mind paying extra, i guess the 3rd one is the best for you

Hey, I'm new here. I gotta ask something.
I usually play CS:GO. Today I installed BF1 which I bought back in the day, and gave it another shot. Input lag was horrific. I disabled dx12 and all overlays (origin, discord, nvidia) and it is now much better. But it's still far from being as crispy as CS:GO, and so aiming is quite cumbersome and slow.
I'm on a gaming laptop (gtx 1070) with a 144hz screen. I get around 70fps in singleplayer, which isn't great, but I didn't expect much more on a 5 year old laptop.
Is there anything else I can try to reduce input lag, or is battlefield just laggy by comparison? I know some other games never felt as crispy as CS:GO either.

Hard to know what you consider "noticeable". All I'm saying is that CSGO is so simple it's easier for it to have lower latency compared to games like BF1 which has way better weapon physics. BF1 will have slightly higher latency. That being said, it could be your BF1 is not running optimally and that is adding extra latency but I don't really have the information to come to a conclusion about that.

Noticing or reacting and actually processing are different. The body can react to stimuli. The FPS of that has nothing to do with it though in terms of our raw intake. What it has to do with is how much the receptor is bombarded.

The high FPS 144Hz (or even the 240Hz) can achieve in a monitor provide a higher bombardment rate that makes the image less of a picture flipper show (in nanosecond/millisecond scale) and more of a movie. We're still only receiving in 60FPS for intake, but the amount of input in that intake is doubled or more.

This is the limitation inherent to Bloch's law.

What does this mean for us? Image quality, uniformity, unadulterated motion, etc..

Once at work I've had to remote desktop from my work PC into an off site PC, from which I had to remote desktop into a server on the same network as the second PC, from which... I had to remote desktop into another server not available to the second PC

the details on that might be off, but I do remember there being 3 remote desktop top bars on my computer

Years ago, they had resistance from Rockstar. There was a lot of threats made. They came to an understanding and FiveM remains respectful of certain things Rockstar has in place, such as not monetizing the operations as Rockstar does. Anything that would threaten their revenue model is a non-issue. So, Rockstar doesn't give them a hard time.

At the same time, FiveM directs that you must have a valid licensed copy of GTA V. So, Rockstar is still making money to a degree and their IP is being respected.

I had this conversation briefly with Summit1G at one point, and the general consensus is that Rockstar would be crazy not to incorporate elements of it it into GTA 6 or make their codebase more accessible to select mod partners to extend the life of the title. If FiveM didn't exist, it's argued that their long-term revenue model Rockstar is currently enjoying through way more years of popularity in comparison with previous titles in the franchise would not have been a thing.

Essentially, both environments can be symbiotic and mutually beneficial--which costs less money to maintain than litigation.
